It was a mess but all remodel jobs are. He cleaned up every day, made sure that it was safe to get to the bathroom which was on the other side of the demo area. He was professional as helpful.
Description of Work: Mr Knight and his construction crew came in and tore out a wall in my kitchen, enclosed the back porch and leveled the floors which was a real hassle. He installed the circuit breaker, replaced windows and doors, rewired the kitchen, put in washer plumbing, vent for dryer, repaired sheet rock, replaced bad sheet rock, installed lights and even cleaned up after he left. He textured the ceilings and the walls with a white primer and did it all in a timely fashion. I would use this construction crew again.

Doug Knight visited to give me an estimate, which I later accepted as he beat five other bidders. We arranged for a pour date within about a week's time. He and his crew arrived before 6:00am to set grade stakes and remove some siding so they wouldn't have to drag the concrete so far. The first truck arrived at 6:30 and the second about a half an hour later. The concrete was placed, leveled, and power-screeded. They worked fast. After it set up a little and two of the crew left, they used a bull-float and power trowel, along with some hand troweling. I wish there had been more smoothing along the wall edges and around the dust collection tubes sticking out of the floor, but this would have necessitated kneel-boards and hand finish troweling (which they didn't do). They reattached the siding and waited to cut control joints -- it chipped too much so Doug came back the next day to cut the joints. Overall, it looks good and it's a pretty smooth finish with enough texture for a shop floor. There are a couple of low spots and it could be a little smoother in the aforementioned areas. But I feel like I probably got what I paid for, as his bid was $1000 less than two companies that do concrete work exclusively. This floor will be more than adequate for my needs.
Description of Work: Their crew of four poured, leveled, and finished a 1200 sq. ft. concrete shop floor. I had the forms up, gravel, plastic, and reinforcing wire down before they arrived, and I helped with the pour. They handled the arrangements with the concrete company.
