Description of Work: On our new "investment property" (renting to our children), they constructed a 12x12 deck, finished the downstairs bathroom surfaces, and hung all new 6 panel doors and trim. To be honest, it was amazing. We learned a lot and got a really great project done. All the doors look great and actually close flush! They worked with us on supplying the materials for the bathroom, which Billy installed flawlessly. John Yacovelli was an owner and salesman who made things fun. Shopping was a breeze with his help. We utilized the "Design Build" process of theirs, even though it probably was over kill. The cost was $0 for the bath and deck design once we signed the final agreement. Would recommend to all.

Very well. See above.
Description of Work: Met with John of Striking Renovations to discuss a bathroom and kitchen remodel project. He was very thorough. His ideas were helpful, even though we'd already spent considerable time in planning the project. After taking measurements and notes, he discussed the options. We decided to use his services to develop a design plan in addition to a bid. He designed a computer lay out for both rooms that was easy to visualize, discuss and adjust as needed. We plan to use them on our renovation project soon.

Description of Work: Striking Renovations just transformed a small bedroom in our two-story house into a bathroom, and we now have an absolutely fabulous master bedroom suite. Their initial bid was around $15,000 because of a new stack that had to be added. In the end we added some additional basement plumbing and extra high-end options that upped the total job to around $22,000. We’ve been living in our house in Webster Groves for 26 years. During that time we contracted with a fair number of companies to do variety of jobs, and when it comes to the speed (fast) price (fair) quality (superior) and customer satisfaction (we couldn’t be happier), we put them at the very top of the list. Striking Renovations is a small company made up of a highly skilled team, so they can keep their overhead down. And doing business with them felt like doing business with family. They’re great guys: upbeat, hardworking, conscientious. John, the managing partner, took us around to a variety of venders to make tile and furnishing selections. He made it fun with his great sense of humor, entertaining stories, and guidance to get the best quality at reasonable cost. We first met Striking Renovations when we bought an Angie’s List Big Deal – 50% off the design of a bathroom. It gave us an opportunity to visualize something without having to commit to construction. At the time we started the process we had four bedrooms with a bath and half. We knew we wanted to transform a small child’s bedroom on the second floor, but the plumbing would be a problem because the room sat directly over the first floor formal entry. But their creative way of solving the problem avoided extra demolition, and in the end actually enhanced our living room with a beautiful new built-in shelf. We now have a great master bedroom suite. And since then we’ve give them more work to improve our home—all with excellent results! We give Striking Renovations our highest recommendation.

GREAT!
Description of Work: Part of my door jamb on the front door was broken when the wind whipped open the storm door and tore it away from where it attached to the frame. They were able to effect repairs without having to take out the whole door frame, and when they were done you could not see where the repair was made. Very quick, courteous, and professional. I am planning to call them again in two weeks for another unrelated issue. Highly recommend them!
Our most recent experience with Striking Renovations was with our master shower repair. After receiving bids from two other companies, we called on Striking Renovations for the very simple reason that I felt comfortable having them not only in my home, but in my master bathroom. As always, Brad and John were very respectful of me, my home, and my budget. The job did take a little longer than estimated, but that was due to what was found upon the removal of the tile. John and Brad kept me informed of this as the job progressed so there were no surprises when the invoice arrived. I also appreciated that John called everyday to see how we were feeling about the job and soliciting feedback to see how they could do better. Brad and Billy, while working for another company, did the majority of the work in finishing our basement. Brad and Billy were punctual and performed quality work. When the owner of the company subcontracted some work to another company which performed poorly, Brad and Billy were there to pick up the pieces and redo the subcontractors' shoddy work. As the job progressed, John impressed us with his ability to think outside the box in finding solutions to a problem. We had an issue with a frayed phone line that plagued us for six months. John's former boss hired an "electrician specialist" to do the work (at great expense) and when that was unsuccessful, their in-house electrician gave it go, again with no success. When John became involved, he was determined to fix the problem and found a phone repairman up the block and somehow managed to convince him to fix the problem--at no cost to us. John was unsatifisfied with the answer, "I can't do it" and showed a lot of initiative in making it happen. The true character of Brad, Billy, and John showed when we remodeled our entryway. As soon as demolition was completed, their old boss told us he was bankrupt and couldn't finish the job. We were left with a missing railing outside the doors of our young children's bedrooms, a torn up dining room and hallway, no flooring outside of our master bedroom, and a complete mess. We had already paid their old boss the majority of the money so we were at a loss as to how to pay for completing the job. It was impressive and amazing to see integrity and pride of workmanship take over as the three of them stuck around to finish what had been started. We had expected them to run from the job as fast as they could, but they collectively decided that they couldn't leave a family in that situation. It was a collaborative effort with my husband staining wood, my shopping for supplies, and working with Brad, Billy, and John's new situation to get the job finished. Due to the obvious extenuating circumstance, the job was not finished on time, but the boys would stop by our house after working on other jobs and on weekends just to get the work done. We now have a beautiful entryway and dining room which demonstrates not only the quality of Striking Renovations workmanship, but the integrity and honesty with which it was completed. We were unable to complete the whole scope of the project at the time, but will definitely work with them again when we are ready to move on to the next stage. As one would imagine, I wanted to wash my hands of the whole experience after our entryway remodel. When the issue in our master shower arose, we called on two other companies for bids. After meeting with them, I did not feel comfortable having these other individuals in my home and could not wait for them to leave during their assessment of the problem. I also felt as if these other contractors did not respect my knowledge of our home, nor was my budget. After some thought, we realized that we never had these feelings of discomfort while working with John, Brad, and Billy so we decided to give their new company, Striking Renovations, a shot at the job. I suppose we needed to go through this exercise to realize how good Striking Renovations is. As mentioned earlier, we have been pleased with the quality of their latest work and communication of any issues as they arose. We would highly recommend Striking Renovations to anyone.
Description of Work: We have worked with Brad, Billy, and John since 2008 and have completed three projects with them, the most recent being repairs to our master bath. They were also involved in finishing our basement (approx. $100K) and remodeling our entry way (approx. $26K.) The master bath repair involved removal of ceramic tiles on a bench in which the grout had become mildewy due to standing water. Brad also sealed the grout, caulked the seams, replaced the tile with granite, and repaired some loose tiles. In finishing our basement, Brad, Billy, and John did the demo, framing, and finishing work for a large playroom, wine cellar, bedroom, media room, bathroom. In the entryway remodel, they did the demo (which included a set of stairs and two closets), framing, installed wall board and hardwood floors, reinstalled wainscotting, baseboards, and crown molding (which also involved staining to match existing wood).
Striking Renovations did an awesome job with converting our existing deck into a three season room addition. The job started on time and the crew started work every day on time, cheery, and ready to work. They made sure the job site was cleaned up and secured at the end of the day. The amount of time put in to the planing before the start of the job proved how effectively the crew could work with materials to minimize downtime. There attention to detail is exceptional. My plans were drawn by an amateur architect which made some of the details unclear. Instead of blindly following the plans, building something that didn't work, and charging extra to fix it, John, consulted with me , Brad & Billy built it right the first time. They were also able to save me some money by using there vast network of suppliers to get deep discounts on materials. There knowledge of local building codes ensured that all of the inspections were completed without worry. I would highly recommend Striking Renovations for any of your remodeling needs.
Description of Work: Converting our existing deck into a three season room addition: Roof, Drywall, Windows, Sliding Glass Door, Tile heated floor and a Ceiling Fan. We Love it!
They were so easy to work with. They were prompt and professional. The job was completed on time and we are so pleased with the results. They listened to what I wanted and offered great suggestions when needed. I had a variety of things that needed to be done and they never made me feel like the job was too small for their time. After letting them in, I left them at the house and they cleaned up and left everything in great order when the job was finished. Their estimation of cost was right on. We would recommend them to all of our friends.
Description of Work: Striking Renovations performed a variety of jobs for us. We needed doors installed, lighting installed, as well as dishwasher and stove installation. We also needed a new lock and key installed as well as a ceiling fan and light fixture.

Everything about Striking Renovation's work was beautiful. They remodeled my bathroom added recessed lighting throughout my house. He had the most up to date ideas which was so helpful to me and just knew what would look perfect. He completed the work as scheduled at the agreed contract price left everything spotless he was always on time and he was very professional and polite. I took several bids on this job and his price was very competitive. Most of the other contractors spent no more than 10 minutes going over the various projects. John took more than an hour going over every item in detail and he gave me options which I was not aware of. I left my house key with him and had absolutely no problems and I would recommend him highly to anyone and I will call upon there services in the future.
Description of Work: Bathroom remodel: Tile floor and shower, new vanity, toilet, mirror, bath fan, lighting, The works and love it! Also 9 recessed light in kitchen and living room.
