Description of Work: We were looking for someone to provide an estimate on mulch delivery and application. I contacted Kirkwood Landscaping via Angie's List. They sent me a reply within less than two hours asking for my contact information to do a drop by for a free estimate. |When I gave them my address, they let me know I was not in their range of service providing. |Although we were not able to use their services, I was very impressed at Joe Dyer's professionalism and his responsiveness to our initial request and then letting us know they would not be able to provide services. |Our experience with a non-Angie's List member service provider took 3 days before we were told we were out of his service territory. |If you're in the Kirkwood area, I would recommend Kirkwood Landscaping and Joe Dyer.

Description of Work: Cleaned yard for spring, put down mulch, trimmed bushes. Happy with all except that they trimmed my azaleas, which meant I lost all my blooms. That's the only reason I have them a B on professionalism. I would still use them again, though. Otherwise, nice job.

Description of Work: Jim and his crew did a dry creek bed along the side of my house, they worked with us to get the exact shape and stone the we wanted and delivered the project exactly as they described. Highly recommended, extremely easy and pleasant to deal with. Will definitely be using them for future projects.

Description of Work: I asked for an estimate for landscaping work. The service rep came out, then took two weeks to get back to me. I had already had the lawn aerated, but wanted and estimate for landscaping. I received an emailed estimate without specifics, just a request for half of $1200. I asked for more detailed information - I have yet to receive it after 3 weeks. We actually planned on using this company. They visited twice and seemed to want the job. Then, no follow through.

 + 3 moreThe job went very well. We were pleased with his work. There are a few follow up items still to do, but for the most part the full job was completed in about 10 days.
Description of Work: Jim came out a few times to discuss our needs and present some ideas. He had a good plan and was also receptive to our ideas. We needed help rehabilitating our backyard lawn as well as creating several landscaped areas along the back fence, side back yard, and side of the house. Once the plan was decided, Jim and his team worked very hard to complete the job quickly and with good quality. He gave us instructions for watering the new plants and lawn. He cleaned up the remnants from mulch and dirt piles from where they'd been deposited as well as yard waste from shrubs he'd trimmed back.

Description of Work: Laid out, amended soils, tilled, edged and mulched planting beds for our new house. The existing soil was extremely poor and full of rocks and debris. The crew removed the rocks and weeds and added preemergents and prepared the beds for planting.

His wife is a pleasure to work with for scheduling purposes and his workers are professional and courteous. I am pleased to have found this company!

 + 2 moreI had a cracked, unsightly patio that seemed to be funneling water into the basement of my settled house. After consulting with Jim, getting rid of the patio seemed a good first step to solving my water problem while getting rid of a patio I didn't want. Before breaking up the patio, Jim cleared out junk from my basement that would have been more difficult to remove later, even though this isn't the kind of work he usually does. Jim suggested draining 2 downspouts further back in the yard, as well. It took a while what with weather, my finances, and Jim's jobs for us to agree on a date to do the work. Once he started Jim worked tirelessly. When you pay him by the hour you get your money's worth. When the concrete proved more difficult to break up than anticipated, Jim consulted with me because it would increase the price he had estimated. He ended up having to utilize some other workers and all of them worked tirelessly as well. He completed the job in record time, even working after dark to get things done. I was very pleased with Jim's work, his courtesy and professionalism, the courtesy of his workers, and how hard they all worked. The added benefit was that this work did solve my basement water problem.
Description of Work: Jim hauled away junk, then tore up a concrete patio and hauled that away. Then he extended 2 of my downspouts far away from the house. After this he laid sod where the concrete had been and where the drains were installed. All of this solved a problem of water getting into my basement as well as getting rid of something unsighly. In October Jim gathered and shredded my leaves and put them on my gardens as mulch. In the past he has shoveled my driveway. He has always been willing to do little extras and he always does an excellent job.

 + -1 moreThe landscaper has taken care of the leaves for me last year and he is going to take care of the leaves for me this year too. He does various lawn care and landscaping things. He is a really hard worker and he does whatever he says that he is going to do. He does real good work and does it thoroughly. He isn't very punctual and that may be because I am his neighbor. The price that he charged for the last job seemed pretty reasonable too.
Description of Work: I use the services of Kirkwood Landscaping for my landscaping work. The last job was done about a year ago.
