The project went great and we are now in love with our new table!

Unfortunately, I was less than satisfied with my experience with Unruh Furniture. First, my biggest concern was the table itself. I ordered a pedestal table, which was constructed so that the pedestal legs were so close to the ends of the table that those two sides were unusable as no chair could get tucked under the table. I had no way of knowing that the dimensions of the table I ordered were much smaller than the dimensions of the example table pictured on the website, which was shown with plenty of room for seating on all sides. I called Sam when I realized that the table would not work for our family and I was surprised that his response was to tell me how I could fix the table myself rather than trying to make it right himself. When I later communicated my concern about how this unfolded, Sam indicated that he could have done a better job communicating with me about my wishes in light of the size difference between the table I ordered and the one pictured on his website. If I had fully understood the constraints of choosing the different legs, I may have chosen something entirely different. My other primary complaint was with the delivery process. I paid an additional $100 fee to have the table delivered. I was surprised when Sam arrived alone to deliver the table. Luckily my husband was here to help unload the table. Sam erroneously stated that the table would not fit through our front door assembled and instructed us that we would need to take the legs off the table and bring in the tabletop and legs separately. I asked if he would do that for us and Sam declined. Luckily we didn't take his word for it and measured ourselves later and realized we could take the table in fully assembled by turning it on its side. Again, I was surprised that Sam didn't know the dimensions of the table better and I was surprised that he was not more willing to help us with getting the table inside. When I let Sam know that I wasn't satisfied with the delivery, he pointed me to a note in the delivery confirmation email indicating that it was a "drop off" service and would only bring the table to the curb unless someone else was there to help bring it in. Because this was not in the main body of his email, I missed this and would encourage future customers to understand that delivery service is limited to drop off. Several months after ordering and receiving the table we have finally brought it inside and adjusted the legs and have a table that we can use. The table looks nice, though its soft wood has gotten a few dings from our 2-year-old already. If I could start over I would not use Sam again.
