Matt came to the house to give me an estimate on the roof. Because of the timeline I had to have it done within three days. Not only did he give me information about the existing roof but he did complete the entire project before the deadline. I would rehire Matt and Katie to roof or side any home I have in the future. You simply cannot go wrong.
Description of Work: Took off old roof and replaced.

Terrible experience. I received 4 bids and decided to go with Steve Williams due to his website touting all the jobs he had done. He came over and told me all that needed to be done and how good it would look afterward. I was out of town the day the job was started- it was supposed to take 2 days. My son called me while we were driving home and said I wouldn't be happy and in his words, "it looked like crap." I told my son they would be back in the morning to finish. No one showed up, but Mrs. Williams called me to ask for payment. I explained that the job wasn't finished. She insisted it was. i told her they needed to come back and check it out-told her the cracks were not filled adequately and sealant was coming up. They came back July 19th, a week later, after I had texted them pictures of the driveway. The crew sprayed a sealant on and said it was the rain that caused the problem, and cracks were blamed on the heat. In a few months the driveway was deteriorating - the overlay was of poor quality asphalt, and soon was crumbling. The cracks had been inadequately filled, and vegetation was growing in them, hence the "hot crack repair" apparently was ineffective. I called Steve Williams back September 12th and was told he would come by the 13th or the 14th. He never came by but had a "guy" come and take pictures of it. On September 20th he told me it would all "settle" and be fine. I continued to call, email, and text about the problems described above. He finally came by in late September, when he told my husband and I "it was not a big deal," that he would fix the "scuffles" (as he described them), which he says were caused by the "power steering on our cars," amusing in itself-- and cracks, which he blamed on the heat. I tried to set up a time, but was always put off. By late October Mr. Williams told me it was getting too cold to do. To the contrary, we had quite a warm fall and winter. He could have easily done it. Cut to Spring 2012: I started calling in April and gave them a choice of several dates to execute the repairs-- they finally came out June 4th and again just sprayed a light brown liquid on the driveway. Steve Williams never was here when any work was done. I told his crew they were supposed to fix the cracks and crumbling asphalt from the overlay. They would not talk to me and took some pictures- not sure why the pictures, because the pictures will be evidence of the crappy job they did. Exhibit A contract states that the "Hot Crack Repair" conforms to the requirements of ASTM D6690 Type II, ASTM D3405, and AASHTO M301. Extremely doubtful that these "repairs" conform to any such requirement, which would therefore be a breach of contract. I highly recommend that you DO NOT USE this "contractor."
Description of Work: Edge milling 250 Sq ft, asphalt overlay 1,200 SQ Ft incl. preparation and tack coat. Hot crack repair (300 lineal feet), tar sealer (3,556 SQ ft). Price would have been fair if the contact had been fulfilled.

After 5 short years the bottom 75 feet of our driveway looks like it's 10-15 years old. It has pot holes, heaving, and chunks of asphalt coming up. We had two asphalt companies come out to evaluate what went wrong and both said that a properly installed driveway should last 10-15 years and it appeared as if there was no gravel base or a substandard gravel base. I went back to Steve Williams for an explanation as to what went wrong and he admitted that when the driveway was put in, the base was inadequately prepared but they went ahead and installed the driveway anyway because the builder was pushing them to get it done. Steve Williams further admitted that he knew at the time the driveway would "fail". He admitted that it was his responsibility to have halted the work when he felt the base was bad but did it anyway and he said he'd "make it right". When he came out to talk to me and my husband about it, despite having already admitted fault, he kept making excuses about how the trench for the water line must have settled and caused the failure. We told him there was no trench for the water line going through the driveway when we were building. The water line across the front of our property had been there for many years before we moved there, so there was no trench when we built. In addition, the water line to our house was a straight line from the front through the yard not the driveway. We must have told him that twice and he still talked about the water line trench being the cause. When I was asking him how long a driveway should last, he suddenly became defensive and said he didn't want to "argue" even though we weren't arguing. He walked away and back to his truck and when I asked why he was doing that and saying that we were agreeing, he again said he didn't want to argue. He then turned to my husband and said he'd work with him and not me. The was pretty much it for me and I told him exactly what I thought of him. We paid a lot of money for a driveway that lasted only about 1/3 the time it should have and the owner of the company admitted fault and then was completely rude when he came over. It was clear that he had no intention of fixing the drive and did not want to deal with us.
Description of Work: Built our house in 2005 and put in a long asphalt driveway which this company installed.
