My daughter had been in the hospital for weeks and my dog got sick all over the house. I had tried to clean up several spots but couldn't take the time needed away from my daughter to do the rest so I decided to hire a professional. I told them that it was they would be cleaning up when I called. I explained that it was on three different levels of my house. I instructed them that I had two different types of carpet and that the longer shag was in the basement. They sent out one guy with a machine. He did 2 spots I had already worked on on the main floor. Then he started making excuses. He needed a different machine for shag carpet. He couldn't carry this one up and down stairs by himself. But believe me he had no trouble grabbing it and running out the door in less then 15 minutes. They wanted to reschedule for 2 days later but with my daughter in the hospital I was not available when they could be there. I had another company come in the next day that had done work for me before. I trusted them and just left the door open as I was tending to my sick child. They had the same machine which Servpro said they couldn't use. They charged me $75. Then I got a bill for $90 from Servpro. I called to talk to the management about the outrageous bill! All he did was make excuses for him sending the wrong crew, wrong machine, etc. Nothing was his fault. He needed money for mileage. I reminded him I called Servpro of Clay Co and it should be a 5 min drive. He said they come from midtown. Finally he said he would give me a $10 discount. Then they billed me again for the full amount. Do not use them. If the job is undesirable they will bail and charge you anyway. They are totally unethical.
Description of Work: They were supposed to come out and clean my carpet. Instead they came out and bailed on the job and charged me anyway.

Hot and Cold water outlets in laundry room had been leaking for five days when discovered. Called Servpro. They sent someone out within 1 hour. The person who came out said he could fix it for $900, or we could fix it ourselves by buying a dehumidifier and a fan. Cost $200. Didn't even charge for the service call. I appreciate their honesty and willingness to work with us!

Description of Work: The company was called to clean a small area under a window well that got wet- they did not provide an estimate but said insurance would cover the damage and that the carpet needed to be removed to prevent mold and health problems. They left 4 fans running and returned several days later to pick them up. They spent approximately 1 1/4 hour removing the indoor/outdoor carpet and pad. They did not send a bill right away so the company was contacted for a bill. When the bill arrived it was for $1496. They claim they came back everyday to check on the concrete walls and floor. They did not come back to check until picking up the fans.

This gentleman is not our customer, he apparently sold a house to a customer of ours that had a flooded basement from the summer monsoons due to faulty guttering and drainage. Our only contact with him was once on the phone, he never actually saw the damage but the tech did tell him the extent at that time and we told him we would provide a detailed bill as soon as we could. We were called out by the residents to dry the entire basement structure that was wet, not just clean a small area under a window. The homeowners were hoping to make an insurance claim but we informed them that it probably would not be covered since it was caused by groundwater runoff. The customer signed authorization forms directing us to go ahead with the work and they knew they would be responsible if insurance did not pay. It is my impression that they are trying to get him to pay and he is trying to get us to reduce the bill to less than $400. There was 425 sq ft of wet carpet with fungal growth visible on the backing, felt pad that had been wet multiple times and had a noticable odor, and approximately 5 sq ft of drywall that had visible fungal growth. All of this was removed, hauled off site, and disposed of. The whole area was disinfected and treated with an antimicrobial and 1 large commercial dehumidifier with HEPA filtration and 6 air movers were left for two days to dry the remainder of the structure. We did the initial work on Thursday, monitored the progress and repositioned the equipment on Friday, and monitored and picked up equipment on Saturday. All our charges are standard for our industry. The homeowner/resident was happy with our services when we left, in fact he kept trying to help carry equipment. We provided documentation of all this to the customer and the non-customer member but member refuses to correct his erroneous report. Nor has anyone made any payment on the account.

THEY WERE HIRED BY OUR INSURANCE COMPANY TO CLEAN EVERYTHING IN THE HOUSE FROM SMOKE DAMAGE FROM A HOUSE FIRE. WE FELT LIKE OUR HOME WAS NOT AS IMPORTANT AS OTHER HOMES THAT THEY HAD TO DO. WE HAD NUMEROUS ITEMS MISSING AFTER WE MOVED BACK IN. SOME ITEMS WERE FOUND AND RETURNED BUT OTHERS WERE NOT. SOME OF THE COMPANIES THEY CONTRACTED WITH DID NOT TREAT OUR VALUABLES VERY CAREFULLY. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE.
