A local assisted living facility had a considerable problem with bed bugs (my father's apartment in particular). Even though they came numerous times, we never noticed a decrease in bug activity. We continued to see blood specks, blood smears, exoskeletons and live bugs (of all 5 instar stages). In addition, the staff sprayed additional products that seemed to work better they felt. Nevertheless, they continued trying to work with Serengeti. While being difficult to get in touch with, they stuck with them for about five months. Heat treatment was discussed. I personally talked with the owner (I had difficulty getting a return phone call, also) and he indicated that they were going THAT week to perform the heat treatment once they got their machine. Sadly, the heat treatment was never done. I discussed with him the exact name of the chemicals he uses. He felt strongly that IGRs (like Gentrol) were not effective, thus, his company does not use them. He explained that the current bed bug population was resistant to the insecticides that were being used (and from my experience I very well may agree). In my own research I found very positive information with diatomaceous earth. This facility used it around the baseboards and begun having some improvement, however, still had new babies hatching. While Serengeti was providing services, there were also many other bugs seen throughout the facility. Once again, in my own research I found that a chemical called Temprid was receiving very good results. This facility switched to Blue Beetle services, who uses Temprid, and finally began seeing a drastic reduction in bug activity (And they were much less expensive!) Will be writing a review about them, too!
Description of Work: Extermination treatment for numerous types of bugs but BED BUGs in particular.

Response from Serengeti Pest Control
This gentleman is referring to an Assisted Living Facility that did THEIR OWN pest control, we consulted with them on the project. This gentleman called us asking us questions about the facility that we were not at liberty to discuss with him or anyone outside the facilities staff. This upset him and he demanded to know more, we directed him back to the assisted living facility.
