Ryan Lawn & Tree - Kansas City

Over the 20 years we have had different turf managers service our lawn and there has only been one that didn't quite hit the service mark that all the others have. The quality of the product used is always good. One year they tried to use a different grub control product which they determined was not as effective as the previous product and they came back to retreat our yard for free and there was no problem with the grubs. Ryan's staff are very professional and friendly and their turf managers have degrees geared towards turf management and come with good knowledge of what they are doing. We started off as the first lawn on our block using Ryan and now 4 other households use them. They might be a little more expensive than their competitors but they have provided us with excellent quality and service... just haven't felt the need to look else where.

Very good experience

They have been here a number of times. I live on six acres and I couldn't afford that they do six acres and I just wanted the immediate front lawn done. I believe that they did a good job. The people that they sent out here seemed like they were very qualified and knowledgeable. We didn't have hardly any rain after they reseeded and I really don't have a very good result right now but I don't think that I should blame it on them. I thought that their price was a little bit high but they are a big outfit here. I think that they all have college degrees and it has something to do with horticulture, and all of them seemed like they knew what they were talking about and in identifying weeds and what they were called. They showed up the day they were supposed to. I am planning on using them again in the spring for whatever needs to be done at that time.

They did the work that I contracted them for.

I called them, and they came out within 24 hours of my phone call. They assessed what I wanted done, told me how they would perform the mission, and scheduled a time for them to come back out to do the work. I was not home they day they came out. They took care of all clean up, and did exactly what they said they would do. I loved it. I have had them back out to my house to trim shrubs and give me lawn care advice. Great professionals that work for this company.

The three gentlemen who did the work were on time, very professional and cleaned up the areas well. Very good experience.

My wife interacted with them and she liked them. They were professional. They have got nice, clean and neat truck. All their folks have college degree as I understand it. I just elected not to go with them because their pricing was way higher than everyone else, like almost 50% higher. They have only really been doing irrigation for a couple of years and they don’t have a long time experience. I like their cleanliness and that all their people have college degree, but I don’t feel like I need to pay 50% more for that. Other than I didn’t have any problem with them. They are always responsive and professional. There was no problem getting them to come out and check our lawn and create a proposal. The material they provided was comprehensive and very well done.

They have done it for years and they have always done a good job. We don't know what products they use but the grass is always very green in the spring. They come when they are supposed to come.

They were wonderful to work with. Because it is just a sprinkler system, I am deciding when and if I should put one in, now that I have the quote. Their estimated price was $3500. I called them, and they were great about following up, having somebody come out and getting the quote. I would use them again in the future.

They were honest and told us that she didn’t need her lawn services until the spring. They even advised us that she is able to rake the leaves on her own so there was no need to hire them so she can save money. They did give us a bid on the tree trimming to get the yard prepared for winter. They were very honest and advised us to wait until the winter rates kick in and we can save 20% off the total bill. We are very happy with this company and will be hiring them.

No work was ever done as I only got an estimate.

$500 of the cost was to cable the tree, the rest of the cost was to trim the trees. There was a miscommunication regarding the trimming. We were under the impression that they were going to trim 3 trees. They only trimmed 2 trees and charged us over $300 just to trim them back off the property line. They didn?t even really trim them. We wanted the trees trimmed so they weren?t hanging over our neighbors yard and they did do that (that was the only thing they did right), but they didn?t trim them up high enough. I assumed that they would trim down all of the low hanging branches, I didn?t know I was going to have to point out each and every branch that needed trimmed. Before they left, I noticed on one of the trees in the front, that one of the branches was hanging pretty low and I asked them if they could take care of it, they cut it down before they left. I didn?t know there was a tree in the back yard that had a branch that was hanging really low. I called them to see if they could come back to trim the rest of the low hanging branches, the receptionist said she would have them call me. I didn?t hear anything, so I had to call back. They said we didn?t ask to have them trimmed up, they said they thought they were supposed to just trim them back off of the neighbors property. Also, I had to sign a waiver saying they aren?t responsible if the tree falls that was cabled, but it was their recommendation to cable the tree, rather than remove the tree. They said the root system should be strong enough. I feel that I shouldn?t have to specify each and every branch that needs to be trimmed. I have never had to do that before. I will never hire this company again.

Compared to some of the competition that my neighbors use my yard looks much better. I really like my technician and this year they switched my technician and I had to call in and say this other guy is just not getting the job done and I want my mine back and they were very happy to oblige my old technician back. He does what he says he is going to do when he says he is going to do it. He turned my lawn around and actually I am very pleased with Ryan's. They are always professional, clean cut, and they are cerified and educated. They know what they are doing and anybody who ask me I tell them I use Ryan's and you can find cheaper but you may not have as good in results.

I don’t dislike anything about the company. They do a good job I guess. Our lawn is green and our trees don’t have bugs. That’s all we can ask for. The workers that came out were very nice. They are the best part of the deal. There were no complications with the company. We will use their services again in the future unless I find somebody better that comes along.

They did a nice job the first time we used them and that is why we called them back. They were really good, but we did not end up going with them because we found a friend of a friend. We would get a B for their pricing and that was why we went somebody else. They were very prompt and they did a little work on my trees as well. We think they trimmed the front two trees and this time we had someone else trim the back two trees. We spent about $350 on that service. We would tell others that they are very knowledgeable and that is their selling point to us. Their customer service person that answered the phone did not understand what was going on at all and could not understand what we were asking for. We went through it over and over again and we felt that was a little frustrating.

I spend on average of $100 per service when they come out. The main comment is that they completed reseeded my grass and I have the best looking lawn on my street. The price is not that great, but got what I paid for. I have an on-going problem with another company that were using and they were using a specific chemical in certain places and making it good and they replanted the stuff. I am working with them through this other company.

The estimator, Jason, re-arranged his schedule to meet with me when he learned that the wind-damaged sycamore branch was a potential treat to our neighbor's privacy fence and house. The crews that serviced our two trees arrived on scheduled days, performed the work quickly because they worked continuously, and performed all services specified in the estimate in a manner that met my standards. Then. they cleaned up all the debris, using rakes and leaf blowers to remove even small debris. And, it was easy to communicate with all members of the crews because they all spoke English fluently as a result of being native-born Americans. This is the first time in 35 years that I've used a tree service. Without reservation, I recommend Ryan to anyone who requries tree services. I will use them again.

The guys were very professional and cleaned up wonderfully - We had to wait longer than they had anticipated - they were definitely worth the wait. We would use them again and highly recommend them. They did a great job.
