I was impressed with Rising Sun early on in the process. Keith was willing to work with our schedule to help us understand more about solar and the process of installation. Throughout the process of decision making, surveying, and installation Keith and the staff at Rising Sun have been helpful and patient with our questions. The installation process took 2 days to complete (excluding time for permits and inspections) and once it was completed I was impressed with the neatness of the work completed. From the panels, conduit and labeling of the electrical panels, all was professionally done. In short I would recommend Rising Sun for installation. They have been professional and courteous throughout the entire process.

Excellent work - friendly, professional, and responsive throughout. Rising Sun installed 28 solar panels, worked through the occasional hiccup smoothly, and we were up and running within 6 weeks of selecting them to do the work. They were happy to answer our questions, including answering emails and texts on weekends, and were eager to ensure we were happy. We highly recommend them!

TL;DR: If you are considering doing a solar install, make sure that you get a bid from Rising Sun EPC. They are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They use high quality components and do a very competent and attractive install. If you’re shopping for a residential solar install, first off, good for you! You will be helping the environment while also helping your pocketbook. If you are thinking about getting a system, now would be a good time before the federal subsidies start to reduce. Second, the most important thing to do is get multiple bids. The difference between what various vendors offers is huge, much more than any other job that I have bidded out. Don’t neglect getting bids from smaller local vendors, they can often give you more competitive pricing and better customer service than the bigger national companies can or will. Third, do a little research ahead of time if you can. There are plenty of references on the Internet where you can get a basic understanding of the how a residential solar system works, what is involved in the install and other frequently asked questions. When you have made the decision to go solar, make sure that one of the companies that you contact is Rising Sun EPC. I recommend that you make the appointment with Rising Sun as the last of however many that you intend to do. At the time I am writing this, they offer $1000 off the price if you sign up within a week of contact. I normally don’t like this kind of sales pressure tactic when purchasing something but a week is a pretty generous amount of time and it did keep me motivated to move forward. When I did my install several months ago, I contacted about seven contractors. A few either failed to contact me back in a reasonable amount of time or the first contact was less than ideal for some reason or other, so I dismissed them from consideration. I figured that the best customer service I was likely to get was before the sale and if service was lacking now, it was only going to get worse after they got my money. I made appointments with the remaining three companies. The larger regional company had a slick sales approach that was more geared toward convincing me to go solar rather then telling me why I should use them for install. It was like they assumed if I was going to go solar naturally I would use them. That company was selling lower wattage solar panels than the other companies but was actually higher-priced (substantially higher priced). They did have good financing but the higher cost of the install and cheaper components more than negated any money I might have saved on interest. The other two companies were both local companies. They were very close in cost, they each used quality components and both seemed to have excellent customer service. I think that I would have been happy with either company but in the end, I chose Rising Sun because they had the most experience. The three people that I had contact with from Rising Sun (Keith, Alex and Sabrina) were all excellent to work with. They were very friendly, very knowledgeable and willing to take the extra effort to make sure that I was completely happy with the installation. Keith was my salesman and I peppered him with questions over the next week. He answered every question quickly and without a hint of impatience. After I signed with Rising Sun, Alex filled in for Keith a couple of times to help out with the install, he did a good job of hand-holding at the start of the install when I was most apprehensive. Sabrina is Rising Sun’s project manager and she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful during the install and afterwards getting everything running. She even went up on the roof with me to show me what she looked for to make sure everything was installed correctly. The contractors that they used for the install were very friendly and took care not to make too big of a mess or damage my property. I had a couple of aesthetic issues with the install but they were quickly taken care of by Rising Sun after I brought them to their attention. I am very happy with the way that everything looks now. The panels look great on the roof because they use a low profile, rail-less mounting system and they took the time to make panel pattern fit naturally with my roof architecture. The switches and inverter look good on the wall both inside and outside of the house. My system has been online for a little over a month now and I have since asked Keith for help with something that I didn’t understand about the monitoring software and he helped me resolve the issue right away. I got my first electric bill recently, it was ~$1.80! Based on the average temperature this month, I would have expected it to be over $100 before solar. Overall, I am completely happy with my install and I am glad that I used Rising Sun as my solar vendor!

We are very pleased with RisingSun. We interviewed a number of installers and chose RisingSun because of our confidence in their experience, trustworthiness and competitive price. From the first meeting with Keith through the final "going live" with Sabrina and all of the contacts in between, we were always impressed with how friendly and knowledgeable the whole team was. They handled every detail and kept us informed throughout the whole process. We would definitely recommend RisingSun!

After evaluating 3 different solar installers I selected Rising Sun EPC. One of the companies I looked at was extremely high pressure and tried to sell me on way more panels than I needed. The other provider pushed a more expensive brand of panels that came in substantially higher in price. Keith at Rising Sun was very straightforward to work with, he understood what my goals were and his project proposal came in at a competitive price. He was always available to answer questions and explain the permitting, tax credits, and installation process. The system took a bit longer to install than I had hoped, but it was because of slow permit approvals with the city. Keith was frustrated with the approval process and drove down to the city office to expedite things. My system has been live for a couple of weeks and is producing a bit more than expected. The installation crew was very friendly and did a fantastic job with the install. Without hesitation I would recommend anyone seriously considering solar to give Keith a call at Rising Sun!

I contracted with Rising Sun to place a 7KW system on my home earlier this year. The process was smooth from initial meeting to completion of the job. I had spoken to 3 other solar companies in the area and none were able to answer all of the questions I had; Rising Sun did. It is important to mention as well, that with Rising Sun I never felt as if I was being sold. There wasn't any pressure; truly zero obligation to speak with Keith to see if solar was right for me. During the process, if I had questions they were quick to respond; usually within minutes. My bill from KCPL has dropped from an average of $290 per month down to $40. If you're considering solar panels for your home, you won't find a better company to have a discussion with regarding whether it's right for you or not.

You won't find a better price, better solar panels, more knowledge or better service than Rising Sun EPC. I talked to three other solar panel installers around town and their quotes were all higher than Rising Sun EPC (for the same sized solar panel system) - one was almost $10,000 more. Additionally, some of the other companies only use cheap Chinese polycrystalline panels (instead of the high quality American made monocrystalline Solar World panels) and still wanted to charge more for the same sized solar panel system. Knowledge wise, Rising Sun EPC easily beat out all of the competition. As a mechanical engineer I did a lot of research and was constantly sending Rising Sun questions, which they quickly answered by email or phone (and their answers always checked out with the research I had done). With the other solar panel companies I usually got conflicting information (when compared with the research I had done) and they took their time in replying or just didn't reply at all. I was very impressed with Rising Sun's customer service throughout the entire process ? they were never too busy to answer any of my questions and they were always accessible. Additionally, Rising Sun's knowledge and experience allowed them to sail right through the permitting process with the city of Overland Park, which I thought was going to be a nightmare since there are not a lot of solar panel systems in Overland Park and the city has been known to have higher than average requirements. Remember when Google Fiber came to Overland Park (OP) and OP had so many requirements that Google Fiber suspended talks and went to other cities around KC instead? This is why we are just now getting Google Fiber while many other cities have had it for a year or two now. Once we got through the solar panel permitting process with the city, Rising Sun scheduled our install right away and had our new solar panel system installed in two days. Again, as an engineer I watched over everything during the installation process just like I would for a project at work. Overall I was very satisfied with the install because everything was installed properly to meet code, they took their time to double check everything they did, they were safe and met all OSHA requirements, and everything was straight, flush, secured, labeled, etc. - very professional work. After the install was complete we had to wait for KCP&L to switch out our electricity meter (which took a few weeks) but what surprised me was that Rising Sun kept in constant contact throughout that entire time and was prepared to hound KCP&L if they didn?t get their new meter installed within 30 days as is required. If you are thinking about going solar (and not having an electric bill ever again) you should contact Rising Sun EPC. You will not be dissatisfied and you won?t find a better price, better panels, more knowledge or better service.
