RHODES FENCE

The company told me by phone that they would come by to look at my fence for repairs and send me, by email, an estimate. That was over a month ago and I've not heard a word from them.

I really felt very good about the initial meeting. I asked many questions and the answers were very professional indicating he really knew his business. I was very hopeful that I had finally found the company that I wanted to install my fence. However the price came back quite high compared to other bids and I questioned the linear footage calculation that he quoted as I had taken my own measurements. He quoted 196 linear feet. My generous measurements, rounding up, only came to 179 linear feet. When I asked if he would revise his total calculation based on more accurate measurements I was told that he added more on to include culling out of bad pickets. I understand a contingency but felt that culling out of lower quality pickets would need to be part of the base cost not an extra. I also offered to provide the demolition myself in order to lower the costs. The amount of money deducted for the demolition was extremely low. It still would not get me to number that I felt was reasonable. In addition, after the initial meeting it was practically impossible to reach him to discuss or set up a scheduled for install. I finally gave up and decided that he is just too busy to worry about my concerns or my project. Over all very disappointing.

everything went right on schedule.After calling and getting a few estimates call Rhodes Fence back set up days I wanted it done on. They followed thru on the dates and put up top quality fence for me.Highly recommend them I think your wasting your time trying to find a better price and quality work that they provided

Excellent. The chain link was covered in brush and years of overgrowth so I was worried how it would turn out. This was a really big job. It looks fabulous and beyond my expectation. The crew got the entire job done in 3 days. Everyone I spoke to was courteous, responsive and professional. Of four bids this was the lowest, but by far the quality and workmanship is superior. Would highly recommend and would use them again if ever I needed.

It went very smoothly. Slightly longer installation than originally discussed because of weather delays caused by this spring's rains. It's a very attractive fence and we couldn't be happier. It was a smaller job than some as the majority of our yard is already fenced from our neighbor's privacy fencing, yet we didn't feel we were slighted in scheduling or service because of having a smaller project. For instance, we received several suggestions and ideas for variations that added either aesthetic or practical value. You could tell he was very interested in doing the best job possible. We were pleased on all fronts. It's a very nice value-added addition to our home.

They did an excellent job. They were on time, returned calls immediately, and had good communication skills.

Provided an estimate that was much lower than competitors. Completed work as agreed, for the price estimated. Showed up on time completed all work as agreed including hall off of old fencing. All interactions with staff were professional. The fence is very nice, good quality, dog proof so far.

They arrived right on time, brought a big crew of 4, and started in. It was a cold, rainy, snowy day, but they went ahead and took down the old fence and dug the post holes. The crew was very efficient & they finished doing everything including cleanup in about a half day. The fence looks fantastic.

I requested bids for a 5' shadow box fence and a 5' standard 1" spaced picket fence from 4 fence companies in my area that were found on Angie's list. Both fence designs used 1x6x5' dog ear cedar boards, 2x4 cedar fence rails, and 4x4 treated wood posts set in concrete. Rhodes fencing had very competitive pricing on both fence designs and did not charge extra for the gates that were installed. For the estimate, Mark Rhodes showed up promptly to measure my yard. I discussed our interest in both a shadow box and a spaced picket fence similar to a another fence in our neighborhood. After our meeting, Mark took the time to stop by the house in our neighborhood with the spaced picket fence that we were interested in to ensure he knew exactly what we wanted and could provide an accurate estimate. Mark provided quick estimates for both of our fence options in only a few days. In addition, Mark was able to refer a friend to survey my yard and save me some money in the process. The cost of the survey for my yard was only $150 and they typically run closer to $400. I feel that Mark was the most honest individual that I have ever contracted for a home improvement project. At the start of the project, Mark scheduled the marking of the utilities on the property as well as the surveyor shortly after the property was marked. I was only required to file for a permit from the city. Mark's crew which consisted primarily of his sons started the project approximately 3 weeks, after we accepted the proposal. The crew showed up on Tuesday morning to set the fence posts and go over the details with me. The crew walked around the yard with me to verify the correct position of the fence as well as each gate's location and size, as they put up a string line. After they finished marking and verifying the fence location with me, they began digging out the holes for each fence post and placing a post in each hole. Before setting any posts in concrete, they went around and adjusted each post to be the same distance off the ground. They completed setting all of the posts by the end of the day. Shortly after the crew had left for the day, I received a call from the city indicating that they had left off some important guidelines in my issued permit regarding the distance between my fence and a manhole that was on the property line. I was extremely worried because the fence was spaced 1' away from the manhole on the property line and the city required any fence to be spaced 3' away from a manhole. I was frustrated when the city left out information on this requirement and quickly called up Mark. Mark reassured me that it would not be a big deal and indicated that they would just bring a few extra posts and box around the manhole at the required distance, when they came back to finish the fence. When Mark's crew showed up two days later to finish the fence, they started by moving the section of fence in violation of the new city requirements and double checked everything with me before setting the posts in the modified fence section. I was very impressed by the fact that they took there time and payed attention to every little detail as they completed the project. They were very professional the entire time and I could not have asked for a better job. In addition, Mark's crew was very friendly and payed hourly rather than by the job. My friends and neighbors have been extremely impressed on how nice our new fence looks. Thanks again to Mark and his crew at Rhodes fencing, for great service and a job well done!

We used Angie's list and had 3 estimates completed, Rhodes fencing was very competitive with another source and about $300 cheaper than the other source. We went with Rhodes fencing and were not disappointed. Mr Rhodes showed up promptly, walked through the yard with me and submitted the estimate later that night. We wanted a temporary chain link fence installed for our dogs with a 12 foot gate a 4 ft gate. Mr Rhodes promised they could have it completed in one day and by the deadline we stated (before 4/1). They called DIGRIGHT to identify any underground wiring, etc by that Friday and showed up the following Tuesday (2 weeks before our deadline). The team showed up bright and early on one of the coldest mornings. They had me walk through everything again to double check their paperwork and immediately went to work and completed it within a couple of hours. The quality of fencing was much better than what we could have bought ourselves at the box stores. Since I had smaller dogs, they made sure the fencing went to the ground and had me check a couple of areas to see if I felt it needed more reinforcement, which I did, just in case. They immediately shored it up with reinforcement. I was very impressed with their work and how professional they were. I would say they were pretty quiet too, as I was working from home that day and was worried about a lot of noise. Once completed they asked me to walk through and ensure it was sufficient, and it was. Thanks to all the men, great service!

Called Mark for an estimate on repairing a chain link fence. He came out the next day, measured, and then called me that night with an estimate. The only reason we didn't use him is that another contractor advised us to replace the fence with wood instead of repair so we decided to go in that direction. But I was so impressed that Mark followed up the next day to see what our decision was. He was very polite and professional. When we thought our hired fence contractor wasn't going to come, I called Mark back. He was happy to rebid for a new wood fence. In the end, the fence was replaced by someone else, but next time I will DEFINITELY use Rhodes Fence. If Mark takes that much time in customer service for small fence jobs, then he's going to be great to work with.

Rhodes was very competative to other companies for pricing. Once we decided to go with Rhodes, they were prompt and professional. We are very satisfied with the work performed and so is our dog! We would use Rhodes again.

I found Rhodes Fencing by searching the reviews here on Angie's List. They had all positive reviews and I can now see why. They were responsive, accurate estimate, and prompt in installation day. They fenced in our back yard within a 4 or 5 hours (approx half acre back yard) All parts and installation were top quality - no short cuts taken. All workers were very nice and hard working. Their estimate was exactly what they charged. And their charges were less than many other estimates I had received from other companies. I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you Rhodes Fencing!!

Everything went amazingly well. They were punctual (with a tight time frame), responsive, and their quality of work was excellent. On top of that the price was exceptional, their quoted price for the fence and kennel were well below other quotes we received for the fence only. I would highly recommend Rhodes Fence to anyone looking for fencing.

If you tell them what you are looking for, they do their best to meet your needs. We requested additional estimates for different materials, and we requested that they try to make it easier on us because we have dogs, and they did for both. It wasn't too much more expensive than I would have estimated to do it ourselves, but was a whole lot faster and easier. Overall, it was a good experience!

The whole experience was great. Mark came out the same day I called to give an estimate. He was very personable and professional. He explained which type of fence he would recommend and also explained the difference in the types for what I needed the fence for. He sent me an estimate within 24 hours. They were very accomodating and completed the entire project within 72 hours from the time they started. He is an extemely trusting individual. He kept in constant communication and did not at any time blind side me with any issues or costs. Without hesitation, I would recommend Mark's company. His estimate was almost spot on the final cost. I went to visit him a couple of times while they were installing the fence and his crew was just as friendly. I wish all persons I dealt with were as friendly and professional as Mark and his crew. If anyone is looking to have their fence installed in this area, use his company. You won't regret it.

Project went well from start to finish.

Mark Rhodes' proposal was one of three quotes from fence companies to install a 6' wood privacy fence. Rhodes' proposal was the best price and the quality of materials to be used was superior to the other proposals. Mark and his three sons were prompt, courteous, and very accommodating. Tear down of the old fence and setting of the new posts were done on one day, then a couple days later the rest of the fence was completed. The new fence looks great and I am very pleased with the quality of materials used. I would definitely use this company again.

When I called Mark to discuss the scope of the job he was very open to my unusual request for burying 2 feet of fencing under ground. Mark came out and gave me a quote on two separate occasions. He was very patient with my changes and made the alterations with no complaints. On the first day of installation Mark and his crew were very punctual and Mark called me prior to arrival to let me know they were on their way. Upon arrival Mark and the crew laid out the design with me so we could insure that the fence installation was correct prior to trenching and setting the posts. Working with Mark and his crew was a pleasure and the finished product was better than I expected. I requested a few additional things to be done over and above the original quote and Mark did not hesitate to get them done. We agreed upon an additional small fee for those services which I was very happy to pay. I will use Mark and his crew again in the future and would strongly recommend them to anyone needing fence installation. Most of all my wife was very happy with the new fence and the protection for our small dogs.

They showed up when they said they would and went right to work. When they were finished the new fence was even better than what we expected. They cleand up and when they were gone except for the new fence you couldn't tell they had been there.

The work was completed in one day while all of my other bids projected two days. (I wasn't home at the time but a neighbor told me it only took them a few hours from start to finish) Also, Rhodes was the most affordable of bids. We will definitely use this company again.

The crew showed up on the date we agreed to and performed the work beautifully, just as Mark had talked about when he came out and personally bid the job. It is so nice to find an individual/ company that does what they say they are going to do at a fair price. Not to mention that they did not require up front money like a fly-by-night business. We are very impressed and will tell our friends and definitely use them again in the future!

I called Mark about 3 weeks before I wanted the fence installed, it turned out that he was about a week off on his work load and he installed it the following week. That was better cause I was home when he was there. It let us work out some of the issues I mentioned above. There was some confusion about who was going to call the surveyor, but Mark called him and got the survey done. There was some confusion about where my property ended after the survey, but a week later I got the deed for the 2nd track of land I owned. So I am not sure how I would rate the surveyor. Over all the rest was wonderful. Good quality wood, Fences work great. Crew were very nice. I would hire them again in an instant. Mark also talked me down to a very good wood instead of a plastic fence, I am glad he did it looks so much classier than plastic.
