RHODES FENCE

The entire process went pretty smoothly. They came out and performed an estimate quickly, and were good with getting back to us when we called. The only complaint I had was they didn't get to our property to perform the job for about 3-4 weeks after their estimated date, but when they gave us the estimate, they did say this was an extremely busy time of year for them. Once they started the job, it was finished within a couple days. My husband and I were very pleased with the result.

I gave Mark Rhodes a call for an estimate and he was able to come out right away to take measurements of the backyard. Mark was very timely and professional. I had even mentioned the possibility of installing the fence myself, and he was friendly enough to share some tips of the trade. He was open to answering any questions I had and explained the installation process in full detail. I contacted Mark a few days later and we were able to schedule the install during a busy season for them. The team showed up just as we discussed. They came out on a Tuesday, removed the old fence on one side and began setting the posts. In two days they were back and completed the fence within a few hours. I would also like to add that during the install, KCP&L was working on some transformers in my yard, both of which determined the placement of the fence and affected the install. The team was very cooperative and worked with and around KCP&L to get the job done. I am very happy with the way the fence turned out and pleased with the overall service that Mark Rhodes and his team provided.

.Mark gave me a bid within a day or two of calling. Price was not the lowest, but others wanted a deposit before work was started. I have had bad results in the past with that approach. Mark required payment upon completion of the job. I wanted a black metal fence. Mark recommended the steel over aluminum. I looked around at some fences and agreed it is a better product, at not a very big price difference. It took a couple of weeks for them to work me into the schedule. Once started the job was completed in a very efficient, timely and professional manner. Old fence removed and posts put in one day. A few days later the fence was put in. It looks great and seems to be very high quality. A very good experience.

If he doesn't want to do the job he just blows you off.

Mark provided a quick response for my request for a bid. He provided a professional bid with the information I requested. Once we accepted the bid it took a few weeks for the job to begin. His staff took out the old fence and placed the posts on a Monday and came out and completed the job on Wednesday. Mark came by on Wednesday to make sure we were pleased with the job. We love our new privacy fence; it has made our backyard look so beautiful and provided a safer place for our dogs.

Mark came out and provided an estimate within 2 days of my initial phone call. He was very thorough and asked a lot of good questions to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted. It was still pretty cold outside, so it took about 3 weeks before things were warm and dry enough to install the fence. His crew came out on a Monday to install the posts and came two days later to put up the fence. Overall we are thrilled with the quality and look of the fence. We will continue to use this company for any repairs and maintenance and we would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of a fence. Great company!

I had contacted Rhodes about a year ago to get an estimate. I had to put off doing the work so I came back to them this Spring to update the estimate. Mark reviewed and it only increase a very small amount due to material cost changes from last year to this year. After receiving the quote via email (which I like), I let Mark know I was ready to go. He contacted me, arranged a time of which we had to adjust a few days due to weather and KC Dig markings. His crew arrived the day scheduled and worked diligently to remove the old fence and put up the new one. It only took them approximately 2 hours. They didn't didn't tear up or make a mess of my yard of landscape. There was one board across the top that I wasn't pleased with due to it's condition. They quickly removed and replaced it without any push back. This was a great experience and I'm more than pleased with the end product. I have more fence to replace in the next year and really look forward to having them complete the work. In my experience, not all contractors work are as professional and efficient but Rhodes really proved to be a great business to work with!

On Tuesday, we made an appointment for 5pm on Wednesday. Then Mark called on Wednesday morning at 10 am saying he was on his way to my house. What?? I advised him our appointment was at 5pm. He agreed. At 5pm I was waiting for him....waiting.....waiting....waiting. 5:30 I call to follow up. He acts all aloof and tells me he's in Excelsior Springs buying a new truck. Sorry bud, you're fired.

I reached out to Rhodes Fence based on their Angie's List reviews and a referral made by another Angie's List company that was not able to work in my area. I scheduled an appointment for a quote with Mark Rhodes (after waiting for a few days for a response to the initial request made to their person answering the business line.) Mark scheduled the appointment himself for the next day. When the time came for him to arrive he was not to be found. A half hour later, I reached out and he claimed that he wasn't aware of the appointment and that he had been sick. Mark assured me that he would be there quickly to do the survey for the quote. After Mark arrived and did his measurements he told me that he would have a quote to me by the end of the week (4 days) FYI all my other quotes happened on the spot... I waited till Friday and reached out requesting my quote. The lady at the office said she would grab Mark when he returned to the office. I reached out later that day and she said he just walked in. NO REPLY. I waited through the weekend, called again Monday twice for my quote. (Who works this hard to give their money away?) In a nutshell, I've never receive my quote. I've since had my fence put in by a company who exemplifies the type of service that RHODES FENCE represented itsself as providing. Angie's List needs to seriously consider any endorsement or representations provided to this company. NOTE TO RHODES FENCE: If the job is going to be more difficult or time consuming that you are wanting to take on, have the proffessional courtesy of saying " Mr. Customer, i think we will pass on this job as it is more than we want to take on right now." Never ignore someone. I've already told several neighbors about this experience and it's not everyday you have someone wanting to put in high end steel fence.

He hasn't given me the final estimate yet because I just told them what I wanted. They have been fine so far. I have only met the owner so far. He's been here once and he was prompt. They are very busy and it takes him a couple of days to call me back. I have decided to have them put my fence in because, I feel confident in having him do it. I picked a very expensive type of fencing.

We couldn't be happier. Mark and his sons and crew are pleasant, responsive, efficient, and quality oriented. For the long picket fence we had them do last year, we asked for a particularly short fence with custom points on the pickets and nonstandard picket spacing. The result has gotten us many compliments from the neighbors; it's just what we had in mind. The three 5-foot-wide gates in the low fence are still working fine a year later, and we've had no trouble with the fence. And when the gate in our privacy fence began giving trouble, Mark's guys were back in short order to fix it at no charge. The work we just had done around the patio went well, although we decided after the fact that we didn't like the dog-eared picket tops on the fence around our basement stairs and wanted another small change. (This wasn't a criticism of their work; just our not having thought things through.) No problem; two days later, the crew was back to recut the picket tops and add some picket "balusters" to the back stoop. Three guys, including Mark himself, worked half a day on this, and he charged us only $100 above our initially agreed-on price.

They were very reasonable. They were also very easy to work with! They did a good job. They were also very neat the fence looks good.

First the scheduling process was great. The person at the office was very polite and we were connected with Mark very quickly. He came out right away and looked over the job to give us an estimate. The estimate came, we were pleased and arranged the work. The weather was an issue as it was very cold the ground was extremely hard so we knew scheduling might be an issue up front. However, Mark called and checked on us and then called on a nice day to arrange the work for that day if it worked with our schedule. The work was completed in one day which surprised us. They were very professional and took care to clean up and make the areas where fence was removed look great. The type of gates we ordered had a different style of picket than the gates we already had. Mark was able to have them switched to ones that look exactly like what we had. All in the same day! I would definitely recommend!

Mark was easy to work with and provided me with a very fair cost estimate. The work was completed as scheduled and the new fence looks great. I would highly recommend Rhodes Fence.

I called on 02/13/2015 to request a quote to replace my fencing. The lady that answered took down all of my information and stated Mark would call me back in a few hours to schedule a time to come out. I called again on 02/18/2015 as no one had called or come to my house. The lady who answered put me on "hold" (I heard everything) and talked to another lady who said to just give me Mark's number. So the lady came back on the phone and said "Well Mark does all the scheduling so Ill give you his cell number and you can call him." No apology no sympathy for the failure on their part at all. As well, why couldn't they have just given me Mark's number to call to begin with? Why did I have to wait 5 days and call again for them to just pass the buck? I did not call Mark and proceeded to make a choice in service based off the estimates I already had from companies that are responsive and polite.

Excellent! Mark came over the day after I inquired to measure and provided a verbal & email quote to next day. I obtained the city building permit the next week and they installed the fence the next week. They dug and installed the posts on the first day and came back a couple days later and nailed all the boards & installed the gate. The crew was very punctual, courteous & professional.

Mark and his crew were amazing! They came and got right to work and were very friendly. They were very knowledgeable, professional, and they took the time to make sure the job was done right. Thank you to Mark and his crew, we love our new fence!

Mr. Rhodes and his crew did a fast and fantastic job. They had to remove some ivy and small trees that had grown on the fence through the years. I'm sure this was not a very easy job but they arrived at 9 am and by 3 pm had it all done except the gates. They returned the next day to complete the job with the gates. We were very pleased with this company and would recommend them to our friends.

I needed to have my old privacy fence torn out and a new one built in a single day. Mark and his crew were very professional and really hustled to get the job done on time. The fence looks great and was installed per my specifications despite the time crunch.

Mark came out and did an estimate on the fence and was confident he could get the job done. I had several other companies come out, all of whom shrugged their shoulders and walked away from the job because it was "hard". Mark had no issue with any of the challenges of my old rickity back yard and deck. The new fence is gorgeous. Our neighbors love it, we love it, and I'd definitely use Mark in the future. He's the Obi-Wan-Kenobi of fence building. If you use Mark, May THE FENCE BE WITH YOU. ( Cheesy, but I told them I'd write that ) Seriously though, great work, great guys, and a superb job. Couldn't be happier.
