The team came in and sanded 50-year old hardwoods in living/dining room area and installed new hardwood flooring in the family room and kitchen areas. They returned to screen floors and apply stain and finish. After everything was installed (granite, appliances, etc.) they returned, screened the floors again and put down the final coat of finish. The walls had been knocked down and made into one large room. The floors in the old and new parts of the remodel matched beautifully. In our contract, Chris Young (the owner) had quoted me a price that included tearing out and removing the old subflooring beneath the carpet.Our remodel contractors did that as part of their services. Chris credited me with the quoted (and accepted) price of the tear out and disposal, and he wasn't under an obligation to do so. He is a very honest man. The only thing I would suggest as an improvement would be to have the team wear company tee-shirts. Their work is very hard and demanding, but their clothing should look more professional than what they wore. That's all I can recommend...other than that they deserve an "A" rating for the work performed.
