We contacted Norton and Schmidt, based on their years in business, for a structural engineer inspection on a home my brother is purchasing. Although our initial whole-home inspection (with another company) found concerns at two places in the foundation, Norton and Schmidt inspected full scope for structural integrity. Mr. Schwabauer performed the work. He arrived on time, was professional, friendly, detailed, and explained his preliminary findings on site (fortunate for us, it was great news). His secretary, Ms. Woebke, had the report submitted to us via email within just a couple working days. The report is thorough, provided peace of mind, and has even been a critical resource for my brother's HUD financing approval. I want to add that each time I've contacted Norton and Schmidt's office, Ms. Flynn has taken my call and she is helpful (patient!) and courteous. Finally, in talking with others including the realtor, I've learned this Company's pricing is very good.

I like them because they had an engineer that knew what he was talking about and was able to explain the issues to me, and how to fix them. They have saved us a lot of money both from sound advice and catching issues before they become something much bigger.

A very thorough report was submitted by Mr. Hutson on a timely basis which confirmed the necessary repairs and provided a list of possible contractors qualified to do the job.

Wish we had gone with another company. At the time we thought everything had been inspected, but as it turns out he just kind of "went through the motions". Inspector was on time, professional - came in and appeared to check out the basics but we have discovered that he was not very thorough. We now know that we have a non-working garbage disposal and obvious plumbing issues under the kitchen sink that shouldn't have passed inspection. Also, dishwasher was tested by inspector, but again, he failed to catch the fact that it leaks water onto the kitchen floor. To top it all off, a follow-up question was posed to the inspector (about a structural issue that the sellers had fixed since he was there). He said to email him photos for his "non-binding" review, which was great -- but then he would not comment without us paying him another $400 plus to come back out and do a full "re-inspection" of the home! Not the best customer service out there.

Excellent work. Very thorough report. Saved me about $10,000 in foudation repairs I was considering.

It seemed as though they did an good inspection, but they missed a big hole in one of the bathrooms that was covered with loose piece of tile. I when in the crawl space myself upon finding this an clearly saw the hole. There was a leak in the area which they reported so they were in the crawl space and missed a baseball size hole in the floor that went clear to the crawl space. Also, missed cracked tile on the chimney(visable from the outside). They were on time for the inspection.

THEY CAME ON TIME, THEY PUBLISHED A GOOD REPORT THAT SEEMS TO BE VERY THOROUGH AND COMPETENT. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

THE INSPECTOR WAS ON TIME. HE WAS VERY THOROUGH AND WAS VERY WELL TRAINED IN HIS EXPERTISE.
