Pricing is very reasonable and they were able to use our existing service. The day of install went fine, but I agree with the other reviewer's comments about lack of responsiveness. It took a long time to get in touch with the salesperson and we really had to work to move the install along. I may or may not continue using them, but I would look hard at other companies as well... The good thing about this company is... no contract!

We got the name of MVS from Angie's list. There was one review and it was positive. During the process of purchasing the DSC (brand) system from MVS, we were told by the sales person (who eventually installed the system) that there had been a lot of advancement in technology and the new systems were much better, easier and allow for more control than our 17 year old Caddix Security system which had started to have problems. The Caddix was a great system and the company who installed it offered prompt response to any questions or repairs for 17 years. They were somewhat expensive though and we decided to try MVS. My wife told the sales person from MVS a brighter, more easy to read display and being easy to use and adjust were important factors for us. When the system was installed, the installer told us our old Caddix keypads could be sold on Ebay for as much as a $100 a piece. He suggested he take the three keypads and test them at his house to make all three worked and then he would drop them back by to us. Their store front is very close. We thought that was very nice of him to check them for us. The salesman/installer was pleasant but seemed primarily familiar with just one DSC model rather than other choices available. We ended up upgrading to get a display with English read out which is what we had before. Our first evening with the system was disappointing. We realized the display was no brighter or even as easy to read as the Caddix. The volume of the chime was much lower than our prior Caddix system and too low to hear except when in the vicinity of one of the pads. Although the tone of the chime could be adjusted roughly 20 ways, we could find no way to adjust the volume (which is much more important). We attempted later that afternoon to call the sales person/installer for help on the cell number he left for us to contact him. We made several attempts to contact him, leaving messages over the next week. When he did not respond to the messages, we started to try to catch him by calling the store and finally reached him about a week later. He said he would check the installation manual to see if there was a way to adjust the volume and get back to us. He said he knew we could add a separate chime unit if the volume of the pads could not be adjusted. He also said he had not had a chance to check the old keypads. He promised to get back to us. After a few more weeks going into middle/late June, my wife contacted him at the retail location and he said he was really busy and had not had a chance to check whether the volume could be adjustable. He did mention possibly getting a separate chime to add to the system but did not know the price to add it. He said he had our old keypads at his desk but had been not checked them out yet. He promised to get back to us as soon as he could. On July 3rd, I called the store and the individual who installed the system was not there. I talked to a woman at the store and explained the situation. She apologized and said she would see him the next day on the 4th and would make sure he got back to us. We waited but never heard any response. I made one attempt in late July to reach the employee who installed the unit. He was not in at the time and I never heard back from him. In early September, we received our first quarterly alarm monitoring bill which was in excess of the amount agreed to. My wife got a hold of the lady at the MVS store I had previously talked to and she said she would correct the bill. My wife explained the situation saying we had never heard back from the installer. She also requested the keypads just be returned to us at this point. She promised to follow up with the salesman/installer and make sure he got back to us. She did correct the monitoring billing but we never heard back from MVS. At this point, over 4 months after the install, we assume we will never hear back from the MVS and that they just are not going to follow up with us on our concerns. We emailed a distributor of DSC about configuring the keypads for additional volume but never heard back from them.
