Renovation Pros KC recently completely refaced my entire kitchen with incredible results. Chad Stock came out to our home twice with samples, and really spent time with me to ensure the finished product would be exactly what I wanted. I felt extremely comfortable with his work crew in my home, and they cleaned up daily before they left. The job was done on time, and to my extreme satisfaction. Chad even recommended some inexpensive design changes that made a world of difference to the look and efficiency of my kitchen. He was able to work around my existing granite counters and tile backsplash. My new cabinet doors are thick, solid quality wood with a beautiful finish. The drawers were completely replaced with larger drawers that slide closed silently. An unused wine rack in the old cabinets was converted to additional, hidden storage with cabinet doors. The huge light box over the island was removed, and the island cabinets were stained a contrasting luscious dark chocolate. The old, outdated Golden Oak is gone! My husband and I could not be happier with the value and quality of our new kitchen! The pictures attached to this review are Before & After. The light, golden oak is before, and the gorgeous cherry cabinets are the finished product. I attended the Home Show and researched several companies with quotes before choosing Renovation Pros KC. The kitchen is the heart of my home, and results were incredibly important to me. I'm glad I chose this company to work with.

Did an excellent job on installation, but now, after blemishes on cabinet doors, I have called 4 times in the past 2 months to get the brand name and color of the stain they used, but after 4 promises to drop off the stain, I still have NO results and still can't touch up the cabinets. I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE again!

I'm going to start this review by mentioning that we are very detail oriented people, and are very particular about the end result of a project like this, especially when involves an expense of this size. I will also say that most of our concerns were addressed and corrected, so that the end result looks fine. Communication throughout the process was satisfactory and responses were timely. In the interest of full disclosure, we were somewhat indecisive with the backsplash tile, which caused some complications with timing. With that said, if you are detail oriented be prepared to be frustrated. Throughout the process we were informed that we simply needed to wait until the end and our issues would be addressed or corrected on their own. We were told multiple times that what we asked had "never been asked before." Several times I was personally made to feel that my requests were unreasonable or that it was inconceivable that I would even be bringing up the issue. Here are some specific issues that came up (there were countless smaller ones): 1. We had agreed on a stain color via a sample that was provided to us before the project started, which we used to pick out our countertop. When the project began, the wrong color stain (too dark) was applied to the refacing material (veneer), which was then glued and stapled to the existing cabinetry while we were absent. It was only removed at my insistence that it did not match the sample, which was only acknowedged when I literally held up the sample to the newly refaced cabinets to prove the discrepancy. 2. The subcontracted plumber had to return to the house twice(!) to fix a leaking drain, and could not figure out how to service a reverse osmosis faucet. 3. We had to contact and arrange to work with a different plumber to correct the damaged reverse osmosis faucet. 4. The countertop was installed crooked and not flush with the pantry wall beside it, and was not corrected until we mentioned it. 5. The cabinets that were made new were mismeasured, so that the countertop edge sat flush with the cabinet below it, with no overhang. The countertop was actually installed onto the cabinet despite this issue, and was only corrected when we mentioned the complete lack of overhang. 6. One of the new cabinets was mounted 1.5" higher than the matching cabinet on the other side of the pantry, and I was told "Wow...you do catch details" before it was corrected. 7. In one section, the refacing material (veneer) on one toekick was approximately one inch shorter than all others, exposing the lighter wood beneath, which you could see from across the living room. 8. The right-side pantry door was warped 1/4" from top to bottom (bowed). A new set of pantry doors were made to replace them... which also had a warped door, but on the left side instead. These new doors were also stained a darker shade than the cabinets around them (and the previous pantry doors), so we couldn't use them. When we pressed the issue (and since it was the last issue of the project) it was decided by both parties to complete the transaction and part ways without correcting the pantry door. We were told that "...it is natural wood, it's going to warp when the piece is that long." This pantry discussion did not go well; the contractor was visibly upset and made it quite clear that I was completely unreasonable. As far as the timeline goes... our project took 6 weeks (8, if you count the pantry doors), when it was originally slated to take 3. Additionally, I was regularly given notification that they would be at my home at a certain time or on a certain day, only to be notified shortly before (or just find out when they didn't show up) that the time had changed to later that day, or to another day entirely. We found ourselves doubting the schedule we were given because it had changed so many times. I began the renovation with the expectation that every part of the process would be taken care of, and that I would be in the hands of "Renovation Pros"... able to sit back and watch my kitchen be transformed. While my kitchen has indeed been transformed, it was necessary for me to become personally involved in virtually every portion of the project: from the measurement, installation, and stain color of the cabinets, to the countertop installation, to the plumbing, to the tile installation, and to the electric/outlet installation. The days where I was not personally home overseeing the project, I would walk in and find multiple mistakes. I felt it necessary to act as the project manager and mention each issue, lest they be worked around or left for the end result. On several occasions I had to communicate with the subcontractors directly, rather than go through the company I hired to do the job. In summary, if you're intending to use Renovation Pros, know that you must be very specific about your requirements at the beginning of the project, as shortcuts or mistakes will most likely be made throughout the process.

Everything went really well. I love the way our kitchen looks now, compared to its previous outdated look (see before after pics). The work schedule extended a few days from what was expected, but that wasn't a big deal to us. The crew was super nice and smart and did a great job making our island square on the corners (since I wanted a more modern look, without "clipped" corners), as well as all of their work to reface our kitchen cabinets and half-bath vanity and make changes to our hearth oak cabinetry. Chad had great ideas for making our kitchen more efficient, such as changing some doors on the lower cabs to drawers...which I am loving! Also I loved that they could put doors over a lot of previously open or glass-faced cabinets, which gave everything a cleaner look. I also love the under-cabinet lighting -- great for tasks and ambience. For the kitchen cabinets, I insisted that the painter use a satin-finish paint, even though his professional advice was to go with a semi-gloss, and, while I like the satin look (it's more matte), he was totally right. The satin finish may not be quite as durable. The semi-gloss would have given me a more durable finish, but, live and learn. I was afraid it would be too shiny, but it isn't shiny...so take my advice and listen to the pros! All in all, we were very happy with Chad and his crew, and they were a pleasure to work with!

Signed up for the job in June; was told work would start last week of September and would take about 2-1/2 weeks; actually started work October 4 and took 6 full weeks to complete. I chose a painted finish for the cabinets. I spent a lot of time looking over the work and pointing out flaws. They fixed everything I found to my satisfaction with no complaints. However, in spite of all that effort, I'm still finding flaws in the work (chipped edges, drips, etc.) and plan to call them back to fix. Very happy with modifications to cabinets (pull out trash/recycle container, rebuilt pantry with adjustable pull out drawers, converted a couple of cabinets to drawers, modified desk area to convert to kitchen storage), hidden hinges and soft close hardware. Was told during original interview with owner that they only used hardwood -- no MDF; however, when my doors and drawers arrived, the center panels were MDF (frames were hardwood). Was told that they made that change for painted finishes after I had signed up. Really nice people on crews, but they almost never showed up before 10 am to start work. To compensate for the fact that the job started late and took so long to complete, owner provided six additional rebuilt drawer boxes (I originally was not going to have the drawers in the old desk rebuilt) and a very generous restaurant gift card.

Response from Mr. Kitchen
[Member Name Removed]...I just saw this. I am sorry for the delay we had in completing your project on time...it was 100% my fault and extremely rare, as you can see by all of my other reviews. Having a "Home Show" land in the middle of your project certainly didn't help me with my schedule...but again, 100% my fault. But I'm very concerned if you have "flawed areas...or any runs" in the finish. I will be reaching out to you immediately to come fix ANYTHING you have an concern about. I do wish you would have let me know you had any areas of concern...I ALWAYS stand behind my work 100% and will address any area's of concern you have...at no charge of course. Thanks so much, Chad Stock, Owner

The owner, Chad, was very friendly right from the beginning! He was flexible and willing to work around our schedule to meet with us. When the remodel started, Chad and his crew were great! Cody was the one who did most of the prep work at the beginning and he was always polite and very trustworthy. We were able to come and go during construction without hesitation! The rest of the crew were also friendly and polite. They always made sure to clean up each night! The entire project took a little over a week and a half and we were VERY pleased with the final result! We have a nice, modern kitchen now! Chad ensured us that if anything went wrong, even sixth months down the road, that he would be there to help! VERY highly recommend Chad and Renovation Pros!
Description of Work: We had a kitchen from the 70's, including a green, drop-in stove that was causing us to need a modified cabinet so we could fit a full size oven. We chose to have our existing cabinets refaced, got a new cabinet installed so a new oven could fit, got new granite countertops and replaced the back splash.

Chad and his team were great to work with - - very professional, clean and careful while in our home. We had previously updated the back splash and countertops and he was able to work around all that work and reface the existing cabinets using a custom stain color. We had a catch-all desk area, which he removed and then custom-built a floor-to-ceiling pantry. We replaced a 26" double oven with a 30" single - - Chad custom built the surround cabinet for the oven, as well as another space for the microwave. Next to that, he built a freakin' awesome pullout spice rack! Chad and his team completed our job for the exact amount that was quoted. We highly recommend Chad Stock and Renovation Pro's.

Chad and his Renovation Pro?s team were great. We have an 18 year old house and our kitchen cabinets were white MDF board that were really beat up. Now that our cabinets are done, it feels like we have a new house. From start to finish, Chad was awesome to work with. He is down-to-earth, offers various solutions/ideas and answers your questions straight up. We had an initial one hour meeting to get a ballpark estimate of the cost and various options. Once we decided to go with Chad, he came back out and took exact measurements and went thru all the options (ie door styles, drawers, wood type and color, etc). Stain color was a HUGE factor for us. Chad was very patient as we went thru various color options, and he ended up creating a custom stain for us. He then provided large samples on the wood we chose (maple), which made it very easy to confirm It was the color we wanted (vs just having a small 2 inch sample, like you see at big box retailer). Our remodel project included re-facing the cabinet structure with brand new solid wood drawers and doors. We also did a trash/recycle can pull-out, cookie sheet/cutting board pull-out, pot pan pull-outs, and a complete pantry cabinet upgrade with 6 adjustable wide pull-out drawers. The extra space gained even with the same size structure is amazing. We love the hidden hinges, soft-close drawers and solid quality workmanship. Chad also built a brand new cabinet for above our refrigerator and blended it into the existing cabinet structure. Chad and his team completed our job as scheduled and for the exact amount that was quoted. During the time they worked in our house, Chad and his team were extremely professional and courteous and we had complete trust with them in our house while we were at work. At the end of each work day, they did a great job of cleaning up before they left and providing us updates. We had a handful of punch list items that were completed within a week. Everyone who visits our house is amazed on how great our kitchen looks. Chad and his team were focused on making sure we liked the end product and were are very pleased with the results. Based on all of the above we would highly recommend Chad Stock and Renovation Pro?s for any kitchen remodel project.

Chad came for an estimate on a kitchen renovation. He was very personable, professional and very helpful. I signed on with Chad to do the work. Chad and his crew came in to start the work. They were a pleasure to work with from beginning to the end. The cabinets were all refaced, new drawers and doors were built, and all hinges were replaced with soft close hinges. They are great. A custom built island was built, with trash bin, pot and pan drawers and a spice rack. The island replaced a very tall one with not much function. The new island is amazing. If you are thinking about pot and drawers, do it. They are so nice. My whole set of pots and lids fit in one drawer. So much easier to use than a normal cabinet. The cabinets were all painted white. Love the white. New granite was installed, along with a stainless undermount sink, and new faucet. Backsplash was replaced with new glass tile. Under cabinet LED lighting was installed. They are wonderful. New outlets and switches and new lighting over island were installed. I also had Chad's tile man replace the tile on my fireplace. I think the whole thing looks amazing. Looks and also functionality are so improved. I can't say enough about the great craftsmanship. They project went great from beginning to finish. I would give Chad and his crew a higher than A+ rating if I could. I would without a doubt use Chad and his crew again Thank You Chad for my AMAZING new kitchen.

Renovation Pros did a fantastic job! The work they did completely changed the look of our house. During the planning process Chad and his team were patient and very helpful, providing several ideas and samples to choose from. Throughout the project they worked with our schedule and were very flexible which made the process very smooth. Additionally, they cleaned up daily, allowing us to function in our house while the renovation was ongoing. Some of the features that really changed the look of our kitchen were the design of the bump-ups above the microwave and refrigerator and the addition of under-cabinet lighting. Ultimately, Renovation Pros provided great customer service, finished the work timely and were very competitive on price when compared to other contractors in the area. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their kitchen.

Our kitchen needed help big time. The kitchen cabinet?s finish was flaking off, the island was small, and storage was very non-functional. We went to the Kansas City Remodeling Show to get ideas of what could be done. At the Renovation Pros? display, we met Chad. Instantly we were impressed by the methods they used to reface existing cabinets to make them look new. Shortly after, we called Chad for a free estimate. After the initial meeting, we realized that the kitchen could be my dream kitchen with a combination of refaced cabinets and new cabinets. The process of design, budgeting, and re-designing began. The design process went quickly. Several options were presented for us to choose from. Changes, even last minute changes, were accepted and incorporated into the design quickly. A simple project of refaced cabinets expanded into a beautiful kitchen with a new island with the seating at the end instead of in front of the refrigerator, trash/recycling roll out, spice drawer, and pots and pan drawers, relocating the microwave to install a hood over the stove, shifting and enclosing the refrigerator to remove an awkward thin cabinet, installing a new cabinet for a microwave and second oven, installing a new cabinet for a new wine cooler, replacing/relocating a non-functional pantry with a new pantry with roll-outs, vertical storage for the numerous cutting boards and baking pans, redesign/new buffet area! As always, construction had its challenges: A door was accidentally installed backwards, was replaced immediately, the new cabinet over the window was too tall, this was redesigned and rebuilt immediately, the glass company for our buffet glass cabinets wanted additional supports, these supports were installed without question. The subcontractors and suppliers for the granite and tile were also fantastic to work with. Matching and coordinating with existing quartz is exhausting; however, the granite company provided us with samples to help us make our decisions easier. The tile company took the time to look at paint samples, granite samples, and discuss the feel of the house to help make the right decision! The installation by both was professionally done and beautiful. At the end of the project, I have a brand new kitchen that is not only functional but beautiful!!
Description of Work: Redesigned and installed new kitchen cabinets and refaced existing cabinets that remained to match the new. Approximately 50% new and 50% existing. New kitchen includes new longer island, all new cabinet doors and drawers with soft close and hidden hinges, all new shelving, cabinet roll outs in pantry, trash/recycling roll out, pots/pan drawers, combination microwave oven and second oven location, revised existing cabinets for new hood above existing stove top, new kitchen back splash, new granite to coordinate with existing granite, redesigned buffet area, and refaced laundry room cabinets.

Contacted them after seeing their sign and trailer in a neighbor's driveway. They invited us down to see their work in progress, explained their process and offered us a free estimate. We checked them out on Angie's list and other reviews, and decided to get the estimate. Met with Chad, got a more in depth explanation and the estimate. Decided to go with them, met again with Chad to make final selections from large samples of cabinet finishes, received list of subs we would meet with to make additional selections, and worked with us for scheduling. The process was simple, straight forward and pleasant! Cody did our work and was very prompt, professional, and wasted no time -- worked nonstop from arriving when he promised to worked nonstop every day. He completed the cabinet work in about 8 days, coordinated with granite install, plumbers and backsplash installers. We were very pleased with the cabinets, the workers, the subcontractors and the quality of the work and workers. Would definitely recommend them to friends & family.

Our kitchen went from my least favorite room of my home to my absolute favorite! I had cringed over our kitchen for years, and we finally decided to remodel. We started out thinking we would just have our oak cabinets painted and have new backsplash and granite countertops installed. I knew the grain of the oak showing through the paint would bother me, but I didn't want to pay to have our current cabinets demolished and new cabinets installed. Plus our oak cabinets were well built and fully functional...I just didn't like the appearance. We ended up calling Chad from Renovation Pros the week we were having our granite installed. We had a raised bar in the kitchen we wanted taken down and had been left last minute by the previous guy we had hired to remove it. Chad came out and removed the bar for us. While here, he had asked if we had ever considered cabinet refacing. He started telling me more about it...how our oak wouldn't show through, we could have new cabinet doors put on (I really disliked the style of our old doors) with soft close, hidden hinges, new drawers that pulled out all the way and also soft closed, etc. I had him give me a bid while he was out here. It really was more affordable than I thought! I talked to my husband and we agreed we'd rather spend a little more and get the kitchen we truly want than to just paint over what we currently had. Chad came back out and offered us lots of ways he could customize our kitchen to be much more user friendly. The whole refacing process took about a week and a half then another week for painting (we chose painted cabinets instead of stained). Our kitchen now is incredible! It is so much more functional. Chad put in pot/pan drawers next to our stove, installed a trash and recycling rollout, and completely remodeled our butler's pantry making it my favorite part of the kitchen. We do not have a pantry of any kind, and I used to have food like chips and bread sitting out in a basket on the cabinet as there was just no room for it anywhere else. Now all food fits easily in our cabinets with room left over. I was amazed! One of my favorite features is the LED lights we had installed under the cabinets. It really brightens our kitchen during the day and gives it a nice glow at night. I could not be happier with our final result. We do not plan to move anytime soon, but I know that when we do we will get every dime we spent back. I'm so happy we used Renovation Pros! They also refaced our daughter's bathroom vanities, and I plan to use them to reface our master bathroom vanities in the not so distant future. I can't recommend them enough!

The transformation of our kitchen was incredible, especially in such a short amount of time for such a reasonable price. The team was wonderful to work with. They had great communication with us about absolutely everything. Though it only took a week and a half, our kitchen was always completely usable in the evening when they left which was huge for us. From our initial contact all the way through my decision process, Chad was very helpful and professional. He was prompt with all of his timelines and carefully explained his approach and how it was distinct from others. I appreciated his style and his thorough explanation, even though I elected to work with a different project. I would recommend Chad and Renovation Pros for those exploring a kitchen project.

We are so glad we chose Renovation Pros. From the start, Chad and his team were a pleasure to work with. We had already knocked out the wall between the dining room and kitchen, removed the tile on the backsplash , had an electrician do work, and had drywall work done when Chad came for our first visit. Chad assessed what we wanted done and gave us an estimate. His enthusiasm, energy, and easy going manner put us at ease. On the next visit, Chad and Bill arrived, went over the project, made recommendations and suggestions we had not thought of, found that one of our cabinets was bad and said he would build a newer, wider one, and showed us samples. He made us aware of the items we needed to pick up and showed us samples of cabinet doors. Chad even had us come to another project that they were almost done with to see a sample of their work. It was beautiful. Our tear out was quick, efficient, and clean. Every day the work area was cleaned and tools and supplies were stacked neatly out of our way. Bill and Cody, the other team members, were very conscientious and focused on what they were doing, but at the same time congenial and nice to be around. We love the easy glide drawers that are also fully extendable. A quartz countertop (Charlie), new black Blanco sink (Charlie), and garbage disposal (Curtis)were installed. We upgraded to walnut for the cabinets and love it. The backsplash (Stacy) was installed (Tony) quickly and everything was cleaned and out of our way. After our hardwood floors (Shad) were installed, Cody came back to install trim. Chad was in contact with workers throughout the project and his main concern was to please and to make sure everything was up to our expectations. We love our new kitchen and loved having Renovation Pros provide it for us!

We were having granite installed and needed to have a raised bar removed from our kitchen so that a granite, counter height bar could be installed. We had someone lined up to do the work, and they ended up canceling out on us at the last minute. We were in a pinch, as it was 3 days before the granite install, and we had no one to do the work. We called Chad (after finding his company on Angie's List). He fit us into this schedule the next day and did a fantastic job. To top it off, he ended up charging us LESS money than he had originally quoted because it took less time than he though. A+!!!

It was great. Chad listened to what I was looking to do and brought his sample cabinet doors to our first meeting. The first doors he chose to show me were exactly as I had explained to him that I was looking for. From the door style to the color of the stain. The guys that worked with him were all great. Bill would always respond to any questions I had and was wonderful putting explanations into terms that I could understand. We were allowed to see acutal work that Chad had done in other clients homes. This really helped to give me a visual of the quality of their work and how things would look when the work was done. I am so happy with my new kitchen. I would definitely use Renevation Pros services again. These guys are great!

The project went smoothly. We hit one minor bump but that wasn't any fault of Renovation Pros. We had to order a longer plug for our dryer so it would reach the outlet. That delayed the project for a week because we had to wait on the plug. We our very happy with the outcome and will definitely be using this company again for our kitchen remodel.
Description of Work: Chad and his team custom built cabinetry and a storage bench for our laundry/mud room. This project also included custom built cubbyholes for shoe storage .
