MPI CONSTRUCTION

Description of Work: We first noticed the outside walls of our 40+ year old house were 'bowed'. The findings of structural engineering company was that the roof of the house was sagging, '... the slope of the roof revealed significant deflection to be occurring ....due to the ridge dropping...' MPI, consulted the engineer and an architect for necessary actions to correct this. On advice of the consultants they raised the ridge and re-braced it closer to its original position. This required cables to be run from exterior wall to exterior wall and ratcheted inward to return the walls to their vertical positions. Also, cables were installed in the attic, and the ridge was braced to maintain proper structural integrity in the future. This was a major endeavor. The above also required them to lower the vaulted ceiling. In addition, they installed new lights and corrected minor structural problems due to the straightening of the walls. In addition, they found the ceiling in the garage was also sagging. Again based on the advice of the architect, they installed a large support beam to correct that structural problem. They also installed an attic fan and did some minor electrical work.
