Folks, on Friday November first I contacted a company by the name of Kansas City iPhone Doctor to get a screen replaced on my iPhone 7. Michael Weston, owner operator of that company told me I was getting an original apple screen that had been refurbished. Well, I started having problems with it after he installed it. The color was off, occasionally the screen wouldn’t register my touches, and I’ve also experienced an extreme delay in the response time to my touches. So I contacted Michael, he said I received a defective screen and he would just order me another screen. Fast forward, I grew a little bit suspicious that I was being ripped off so I set up an appointment at the Apple store. I went to Apple this past Monday at 2:30 pm. My service technician at Apple took one look and told me it was not an Apple screen. He investigated further and told me that it is a cheap aftermarket screen. So I contacted Michael again, this time telling him of apples findings and requesting a refund. He is refusing to refund me my money. He also told me, unless I take down my reviews he is going to record a video and go public with this whole situation. Which he has done before in the past to other clients. Also, the only thing that saved my warranty and my Apple care is that he has an Apple logo on his website claiming to be a certified technician which Apple confirmed is not the case. I just want my money back. I do have documentation from Apple stating it was an aftermarket screen that was installed.

I met Mike Weston at Starbucks off of 69 and 119th St. yesterday, It was a pretty amazing experience. He took apart my iPhone on a table (and I mean completely took it apart!), replace two components, and put it all back together again in less than 15 minutes. Wish I could have video taped it. Time, labor and parts all under $100 in my case. This was an iPhone 5, out of warranty, that I thought I was going to have to trash it and buy a new one. Thisguy is the Kansas City equivalent of a 'national treasure'...let's call him a Metro Treasure. I would bet money that no other tech person in KC has his experience or capability with iPhone or iPad repair. KC IPhone Doctor provides an awesome service - I think he can fix just about any issue including severely damaged iPhones. My issue was that people listening to my could not hear me...kind of like from minor water damage or a faulty microphone (although I never dropped my water or on the ground and its always been in an Otter box). This was driving me crazy and I could only really communicate with people in speaker mode. All problems solved - my iphone is completely repaired and works like a brand new phone again. So happy! Thanks Mike / iPad + iPhone Doctor!!
