Description of Work: A Relax the Back anti-gravity chair. Good experience choosing fabric and scheduling for work to be done. Estimate price was initially $800 or under $1,000. When done the cost ended up to be $1,400 which I thought was excessive given the estimate. Chair looked good when delivered but within a day's time noticed there were wrinkles in the lower back and the bottom leg portion which indicated to us there was not enough padding in those areas. I called Jim and told him of our dissatisfaction and he agreed to pick up the chair and make the corrections. I had to make several calls to find out the status of the chair and after 2 weeks or so the chair was delivered and we were satisfied with the work done. The charge of $150 for pick up and delivery I thought also was excessive.

+ -1 moreAround May 1, 2011, we decided to re-do the old furniture and replace the window treatments. We requested estimates and decided to go with Kansas City Upholstery as the best source for the entire package. We made several trips to the shop to look at materials, and on May 18, with the able help of Martha McNelly, made our choice and finalized the order. Due to the price of the material we chose, the company reduced the original estimate. The love seats were picked up on June 8 and were completed and delivered in mid-July, about four weeks earlier than promised. The drapes and sheers followed soon after. Some items needed adjustments and tweaking and they were properly handled. These included our dissatisfaction with the pleating of the drapes and our request that the raised love seat legs be made even taller. Overall, we were completely satisfied with form, fit and function. Our only problem was the difficulty in getting hold of the busy owner, Jim Santilli, when we needed to discuss or report a problem.
Description of Work: The task included: Re-upholstering of two love seats, including new cushions and taller legs. New drapes and cornice-board covers for two windows, in the same material as the love seats. New sheer curtains for two windows.

+ -1 moreI spent $4000 on the job. The job was fine. They did a very good job. The quality of work was good. Their customer service was fine. They took longer to complete the job, though. Also, their pricing was high. I will probably not use them again in the future unless there is a change in their pricing.
Description of Work: I used Kansas City Upholstery for re-upholstering a couch and two chairs, three years ago.
