My husband forgot to tell me Matt needed my email address until I mentioned to him that I had not received an estimate. I contacted Matt September 17 to give him my email address. He said he would have the estimate to me the next day. I have called and left messages on Matts cell phone five times since the date he promised to send the estimate and he will not answer. I finally left a message letting him know that I thought he was an honest person, I learned there are other customers that he has treated the same way and told him that the way he conducts business is very unprofessional. I then took all of this as an omen that I should not get involved with him as he probably would have started the job, left it unfinished and I would not be able to reach him.
Description of Work: Matt, company president, came to our home to look at the job we wanted done. We have an erosion problem and he was to give an estimate for building a retaining wall and taking care of the problem He told my husband he needed my email address in order to send a bid.

Hydrowerkx never got back with me. For the record, the service was supposed to be provided at a new house we recently purchased at 4950 Outlook, Mission, KS 66202
Description of Work: He came to my home to give an estimate in a very timely manner. He said he would need another guy to help him do some kind of measurement of the slope of the property. He was supposed to email a bid when that was accomplished, but he never did send an email and he did not return any of my phone calls. He seemed interested in doing the job, so I am not sure what happened. He was very nice and very professional.

I called Hydrowerx Inc. for an estimate on 7/31 and they did not return my call immediately. When they finally got back to me, we set up an appointment to come out on August 7th. Matthew McDavid came out for the estimate and quoted me $500.00 for the work. He told me that he could also offer a 5% discount for being an AL member. I asked for a written estimate and he told me that he would send it to me by email in the next day or two. I have not gotten that email and when I called back on the 9th to pursue the work, he never responded. I have called and left messages several other times and I still have not gotten a response.

It took a while to get the estimate, to schedule the work and Matt was not as responsive as I would have hoped. In his defense, it is a small company and he appears to have a lot of work. I also asked for a more detailed estimate and invoice which I did not get and also asked for receipts from the top soil provider which I did not get. Once we scheduled a date though he kept the schedule and they finished in one day which we appreciated. Except for the bare, seeded soil you couldn't tell they had been there.
Description of Work: We had Matt bring in soil for around the foundation. They brought in 7 yards of top soil, placed and spread it then seeded the soil afterwards. We also had them remove a concrete pad and deck stairs so they could raise the soil level there as well. They did the work in one day and cleaned up afterwards.

Overall, very pleased with the work performed - the quality, timeliness, professionalism, diligence and apparent functionality of the design and the installed solution. In the wake of the first substantial rain since installation, the system appeared to be working as intended, collecting the water entering the backyard as well as that from the downspouts and channeling via the pipe to the discharge point. The "river" that would have been present in past rains of that magnitude appeared to be gone. The only apparent problem to report was that in the process of reconnecting wiring for an underground irrigation system, which had to be severed in several locations in the process of trenching for the ADS pipe, wires may have gotten crossed, resulting in one zone of the system now being on continuously during a sprinkling cycle. The contractor advised that wires may not have been reconnected properly, possibly due to some confusion regarding wiring colors. He did indicate that if the irrigation contractor determined that to be the cause, he would reimburse for the costs of the fix. Additionally, the only other minor glitch worth reporting was that a phone line was temporarily cut during the trench excavation, but the contractor was apologetic and he quickly arranged to have service restored, which it was within hours by the phone company. Those kinds of things come with the territory. In the end, quite pleased with the service and the solution, as it seems to have solved the problem, at least based on the first initial rain event since it was installed.
Description of Work: To address a chronic backyard water drainage problem caused by runoff from an adjacent property during heavy rains; steady soil erosion and resultant degradation of a berm caused by repeated water flow; and gutter downspouts no longer connected to an original underground drainage system that compounded the water collection problem, the contractor did the following: * Installed two 12-inch catch basins, the main one topped with 2-inch native Kansas river rock topping fabric and steel edging; * Ran 4-inch solid ADS pipe 135 feet underground, the length of the backyard from the main catch basin to the discharge termination; * Connected four downspouts to the main ADS pipe with 4-inch solid ADS pipe - 65 feet total - and downspout connectors * Installed 1.5 cubic yards of topsoil on a low area around the mid-point catch basin; * Raised two downspouts not tied into the main 135-foot pipe, back to grade; * Installed an additional 3 cubic yards of topsoil to help replace soil washed away from the top of the backyard berm, and 4 landscape timbers with spikes to help hold topsoil in place

We had zero complaints when construction started. Matt and his crew did exactly as the said they would every step of the project. Very easy to work with
Description of Work: We have lived in our house for approximately five years. In that time we have fought the drainage around the foundation and remainder of the lot. After much research and several recommendations from friends we settled on Hydrowerx to construct a retaining wall and drain system to ferry the water away from our house. We were a little leery to spend this amount of money, however in the time since the build we have had several hard rains and not a drop of water has entered our house. We just love the fact that we no longer have to worry about heavy rains. We would highly recommend Matt and Hydrowerx to solve your drainage issues. They also installed a professional designed landscape to help mask the new drainage features that we just love. I would highly recommend their use again in the future for any projects that may arise
