Good Earth Water Gardens
About us
At Good Earth Water Gardens, we specialize in the construction, renovation and maintenance of natural looking, low maintenance water features. We provide a few other landscaping services too, but our main passion and specialty is in the water garden industry. You wouldn't hire your Chiropractor to do your taxes would you? Then why hire any "jack of all trades" landscaping company to build your water feature? We feel that companies who claim to do everything, are usually experts in nothing and it's common that we fix a lot of their poorly installed water features. From designing a proper infrastructure that doesn't leak, to having the understanding how water will look cascading from a boulder, we make sure our features are built right and our customers are served right! Originally from St. Louis, brothers Dan and Kevin Stanza grew up in the landscaping industry, helping their contractor dad, Glenn. Dan and Kevin assisted with basic tasks such as weeding beds, planting shrubs, and spreading mulch. But once they helped build their first pond, inspiration took hold. The part-time chore sparked a full-time passion for water features. After graduating college, Dan lived in numerous cities before establishing in Kansas City. Entering the corporate world or getting a “job” never appealed to Dan, so he kept going back to what he knew - hence Good Earth Water Gardens was born. Payment can be cash, check or credit/debit card. We require a 1/3 down payment before the project start and the remaining balance upon project completion. *Note for all credit/debit purchases an additional 3% will be added to the total balance.

Got one bid on day one.
Since them I have been stiff-armed or ran around by contractors that I have found either on the internet or on Angie's list.
Dan at Good Earth listened and understood and asked me to send a job list and pictures so that he could bid the work that I need to get financing to get the money to get the work. He understands that he may not get the work due to the scope of the work, I need services he doesn't provide like pool work and carpentry, but he also understands that if I can't get bids then neither he nor anybody is getting work from this job.
Dan is awesome. Thanks Dan.
Daniel met with me to discuss my concerns and look at the area requiring attention. He took the time to ask plenty of questions to make sure we were both on the same page. He was then able to draw up a design on the spot, complete with pricing. We scheduled the work for the following month. He and his team were very professional and completed the work as agreed. Even with the unusual amount of rainfall we've experienced this summer, Daniel's design has proven to have stabilized my yard from additional erosion. Additionally, it is absolutely beautiful to look at. I am delighted!!!
"Thank you for the feedback and I learn something new from every consultation. In this case I should have listened to the homeowner's more about their ideas and not what I would have done if it were my yard. The Angie's List Big Deal that this homeowner purchased was $49 for a consultation and "sketch" - which by definition is a rough or unfinished drawing. We do offer master landscape design plans, but they price more than 49 bucks. I also want to note that I put a lot of effort and time measuring, sketching and figuring the bid for this project and I made multiple trips to make sure I had my measurements correct. I even brought in another contractor from across town to bid an area that would require work with heavy machinery. We easily spent 12+ man hours of combined time figuring this job and it's frustrating from our standpoint when we can't come to a conclusion with a homeowner. It's in the past now and I appreciate the feedback which I will use to get better for future consultations! I really hope this homeowner found the right contractor to install the type of project they were looking for too."
