BUYER BEWARE! Learn from my mistake and possibly save hundreds of dollars. A futon purchased for my son's room did not fit as expected. It wasn't until I tried to return the futon that I learned the store has a NO REFUND policy. I would have appreciated a clear, well communicated return policy at the time of my purchase. Instead, the store owner handed a sales slip to my son to fill out with his name and phone number even though I was the one standing with the credit card in my hand. Guess where the statement of their return policy was? On that sales slip handed to my son. The owner gave me the Visa receipt to sign. When I handed it back, he stapled the sales slip to it. I guess I was supposed to study the fine print on the sales slip at that time while I was going to get my car to load up. The owner also told me that he is only willing to do the minimum required of him by law regarding posting his return policy. He is not interested at all in actually informing someone at the time of the sale. There is no large easily noticeable sign with their return policy spelled out. There is a small 8 1/2 x 11 paper behind the counter that one might notice if the store owner weren't standing right in front of it while having you sign the sales receipt. Though he said other small signs are posted, it was nothing I noticed or should be expected to notice - I was shopping for furniture on the showroom floor, not looking for something between the artwork on the walls. I still do not understand all of their refund policies. If you read the returns policy on their website, it seems that futon frames can be returned. It also sounds like futon mattresses and covers that have not been used can be returned. We did not touch the mattress or the cover - we did not even take them out of their plastic covers. They were not used in any way. If it is a State law that "used," a.k.a. "sold" mattresses and cannot be returned, then this should have been clearly communicated. In fact, we were not sure we wanted the mattress cover we were sold because we were not sure about the color. The owner assured us that we could exchange it without problem if it turned out that it didn't work. Now, how is it that he was willing to exchange the $109.00 cover if the color didn't work, but was not willing to take it as a return? It makes no sense. We were not allowed to return the frame, even with a restocking fee. So, lesson learned I guess. And a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson at that. Please, BUYER BEWARE! Don't get stuck like I did. Both mattresses are very high quality. I especially appreciate the fact that they are handmade in the Kansas City area. The owner of the store is very nice and funny. We will continue to buy our mattresses from this store.
