If Eric tries to convince you he has the lowest prices around, there's a reason. First of all, he and his team runs up your utility bills when they are working. I opened a $1000 gas bill during my home remodeling. The quality of materials, options, and installation is very poor. The cabinets were misaligned in the kitchen, then the cabinets and vanities were damaged after installation. He also refused to finish the work. After he finished, there was still exterior paint, siding, and screens that did not get addressed. After trying to reach out to him multiple times, he went silent and refused any additional service, even though he didn't complete the tasks assigned. Now I have to go find another contractor to finish the job. This person lacks professionalism, integrity, and quality. I would advise others to avoid this contractor choose to go anywhere else.

Where do I begin here. Work completed was below sub par, most the work was rushed through and done below standards. Eric Hood painted, installed cabinets, refinished wood floors and had his unlicensed crew try to do electrical. Eric always asks for money so he can pay people, but the worst is yet to come. Ordered brand new cabinets from Home Depot, they were installed crooked, damaged, scratched and falling apart. He says he will fix things, but never does it. I came home to a home that was not completed like he said, after paying him in full. The house was completely trashed, they left all their trash that we had to clean up. Eric said he would come fix all the Punch List items, but completely went dark and non responsive. We have attorneys involved and moving forward to collect for work that wasn't finished, the total is in the XX,XXX. If you want below grade work, Hire Eric. If you want a incompetent company, hire Five Star Painting and Home Repair out of Lee's Summit.

I have an old house that badly needed some carpentry work and a paint job. Five Star did a good job. The house looks much nicer and their price was much lower than other bids I received. They helped me pick out the color scheme and completed the carpentry and painting very quickly. However, in several areas around the house and garage they left lots of lead paint chips on the ground. When I asked the PM to clean it up he became evasive and difficult to work with. After almost 3 weeks someone was sent over but they did an incomplete job. I finished cleaning it up myself (which wasn't trivial). So, the house looks much better and the price was low but they didn't do a good job cleaning up after themselves.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE: I was provided a quote for exterior window caulking for $661.50. I was told this quote would be valid for 30 days. When I called to schedule, I was told that they do not complete any project less than $1,000 (although they do make some exceptions). I had also requested a few paint jobs be priced out for interior work that we'd like to have done in our home (pieced out totaled $5887). I mentioned that I was willing to combine one or two portions of the interior and exterior jobs to make the total job cost more than the $1k minimum. When the estimator, Vanessa, returned my call, she said the quote on the exterior work would be $1200+ if they split the job and the only way her manager, Tim, would allow the $661 quote to remain valid is if I did all of the interior and exterior work. When I called to speak to the manager, Tim, he said the exterior quote was a mistake and it should have never been quoted at $661. He said he would do the exterior work for $1200. I've never had a company tell me they would only honor a price of an estimate if we did all of the work. And, if we didn't the price would double. This feels like entrapment and Tim would not do anything to make this right for me, the customer. Yes, we make mistakes, I am sympathetic to that. But not willing to make it right by the customer when your employee makes a mistake is not good customer service. They have now lost $7k in total work as I will not do business with a company where I cannot trust their quote.

It would have been fine if he told me he couldn't do it or it he told me he couldn't get to it for a few days. Instead he didn't answer calls or texts. Total loser!
