We made several trips to the store before making our final selections. The people in the store were generally very nice to work with -- some very knowledgeable, some not as much. But in the end, we learned a lot about the various options and made selections we were happy with. We checked their prices against a number of other stores and online sources and couldn't beat their prices so we feel good about what we ended up paying. They did negotiate with us on a few of the items and worked on the delivery charges as well. The delivery and installation people arrived a little late but called to let me know. They got to work getting things in place. The frig, gas range and over range microwave were all installed just fine, but the dishwasher seemed to shift around. I asked the installer and he assured me this was normal because the brand we bought (Miele) was made in Europe where cabinets are a different size and this is typical. After a couple of weeks, the door was catching and popping when it was opened. I called the store and asked to have it looked at. They sent the installation supervisor out and he trimmed a plastic piece that was in place along the bottom, like a toe kick, and told me that would take care of it. Again, we experienced the dishwasher shifting around and twice we found screws laying on the dishwasher door when we opened it. My husband ended up having to reinstall the dishwasher to make it secure. The screws fell out and landed on the door because they never bit into wood! They were completely clean and new looking. He found that the trim pieces that are supposed to fill the gap that's caused due to the cabinets being larger than in Europe were installed backwards and they had made new ragged holes in them as a result. There were braces on the sides that were supposed to hold the dishwasher secure that were bent out of the way. No wonder it moved around so much -- it's amazing that it didn't leak! We are really happy with all of our appliances and how they function and we're happy with the price we paid, but the installation leaves a lot to be desired. Even the supervisor was willing to gloss over the problem instead of putting the time into correcting it. Would not have them install anything for us again.

Overall, I would say it was an okay experience. They have a helpful staff and had a wide variety of products. The difficulty of making a purchase as major as full appliances it that it is hard to have displays of all the various types and options. They have more than almost anyone in town and were very helpful. We ultimately purchased from another vendor, but Factory Direct Appliance is definitely worth visiting when you are in the market.
