Do NOT get a roof from DiBenedetto Roof Tile Company. I had them install a roof several years ago, and it had many leaks. I had to put several buckets in my attic and in living areas to catch the water. It was a nightmare. They fixed a few for a while, but then stopped coming without wanting a lot of money. I found out later that they did not use plywood under the shingles like they should have. They only used some plastic sheeting between the rafters and the shingles. They obviously tried to rip me off by their shoddy workmanship. In hindsight, I should have taken them to small claims court, but a class action lawsuit should have been led by an attorney and would have been much more deserving.

This company put a $70,000 tile roof on my house and it began leaking within six months. They tried to fix it but they didn't. Now they wanted to charge me $2000 to fix their faulty work. This company has been transferred to a new person who takes no responsibility whatsoever for the previous work we company did after he bought it.

Very well. When the lightweight concrete tiles were installed about 14 years ago, they were not installed to the quality that they were recently. As a result, the back half of my roof developed a leak, and could not detect the source. So then, unfortunately, I had to have the whole back half of my roof removed (the tiles were salvaged where possible, new ones added), underlayment and waterproofing were laid back down and then the tiles were replaced. Very pleased with the looks of the finished product, and the leak was eliminated.

Do not deal with these lightweight roof tiles made by Jack Dibenedetto . We had these "Elagante tiles" installed two years ago. There are several that have already cracked. These Supposedly have 50 years warranty but the company has shady business practices and won't return our phone calls and emails. They are riding the clock so the three years parts and labor warranty will be over before we can ask them to repair their shady work.

They did an excellent job. This product is basically cement over a Styrofoam backing which helps with insulation and has a 50 year warranty. Looks like a slate or tile roof. Everyone comments on how great it looks. Customer service was fabulous, they brought over samples and displayed on the roof so we could pick out the colors we wanted and knew how they would look on the roof. They were very careful when tearing off the old roof, cleaned up after themselves, no mess, and no landscaping destroyed in the process which we had unfortunately experienced before with another company. Most definitely recommend them!!!

The crew flat got with it. They roofed our house as well as a detached garage in one week's time. That included tearing off the old wood shakes. I had them do some special things like copper rake metal that I supplied and that didn't bother them a bit. Whatever I wanted, they did. And they did it well.
Description of Work: This company re-roofed my house with their proprietary lightweight concrete tiles. We initially saw the product on their small display house they own along I-70 just east of downtown K.C. around Brooklyn Ave. We called to see if we could even use this product because we assumed it was heavier than our roof joists could withstand. We were delighted to find out that we could indeed use it because their tiles are actually a composite design - concrete (portland cement) with a compressed foam core. That translates to lower weight - in fact it usually ends up putting less load on joists that may have already been supporting multiple layers from previous re-roofs. They tore off all prior layers of roofing on our house, installed their premium underlayment, and then installed the tiles. They offer a huge array of colors and they let us take home 30-40 different colored tiles to see what would look good on our house. We chose four colors for our roof - 30% dark gray, 30% medium gray, 30% light gray, and 10% light green. Wow! We went from having the crappiest roof in the neighborhood to the best - until a neighbor had them install a roof on her house. This product is the next cost level below real slate - but - it doesn't weigh nearly as much slate and when you see it, it's WAYYYYYY better than the premium grade composite shakes available! We did not have to fortify our roof joists to do this. Theirs is a top-class product.

Horrible. The tile roof that this company makes was installed on our home 2 years before we purchased the house. We were very excited to purchase a home with a 50 year tile roof - thinking we would not have to worry about roof repairs/replacement for a long time. Within one year of purchasing the house we had our first leak. It took over 6 weeks to get someone out to repair the roof and by that time the popcorn finish on our ceiling had fallen down. The next leak was two years after the first and in two different locations. The company was not responsive and we had to file a complaint with the BBB in order to get someone out to repair the leaks - more than 8 weeks after the initial call. These same spots leaked again less than 6 months later and when we contacted the company they said they could redo the underlayment on the entire house for $6,600 and gave us a 3 year labor warranty. We decided to replace the roof with composition shingles. We have neighbors with similar problems.

The five workers were timely, cleaned the area each day, and were polite. They did a very good job for the price, I just wish insurance would have covered 100% instead of 65%.
Description of Work: Manufactured own concrete light weight Italian-style tile, one of 120 color combos. The workers removed old wood shake roof after a March 2006 hail storm.
