From my initial call to installation, the work was completed in less than 2 weeks and I am so happy with my new countertops - they are so beautiful. I went with beveled edges and am so pleased.
Description of Work: Wanted new granite countertops and had no idea where to start. Had called a few places and no one wanted to come as far north as Kingston MO, and one that did wanted to charge a lot extra. Called Chris at Countertop Solutions and over the phone he gave me the steps to take to get started. After sending him a drawing and measurements of what I wanted, he gave me a preliminary quote, which was lower than 3 other quotes I had gotten. The next step was to pick out the granite slab I wanted and he recommended a couple of places to go. We went to Stone and Beyond on a Thursday and picked out a beautiful slab called Golden Storm. The following Monday, they came up and measured and my new countertops and a beautiful granite composite sink were installed the following Saturday.

It was great. We talked with Chris on the phone and he recommended a couple places to go and look at slabs. We ended up picking out a marble slab at Stone and Beyond. Chris came and looked at our kitchen to provide an estimate, answer our questions, and give us a timeline. The next week, Umberto came out to make the templates and take our sink, then a couple weeks later they came in and installed our new counters. Chris and Umberto were both wonderful and professional and the installation was really fast. They removed our old counters and sink and had the new ones in place in just a couple hours.

Terrible!! My first concern was that Chris had charged us twice for a table top (quartz) that was attached to the end of one counter. It turned out to be a much larger problem and more involved. First, this is a copy of the texts between Chris Reyes and myself since the completion of this project: Nov. 3, after he had received a voice mail from me, Chris: the island was shown as what it would cost for entry level and then what is shown as the upgrade. Like the rest of the job. so we didnt charge you twice SR: Chris, I am really upset about what you charged us for the quartz. I have done a lot of shopping for quartz in the last few years and I have never talked to any person involved with selling it that indicated any Quartz sold for $144 a sq. ft. In fact, every person said it was never over $100--that is from Denver to Des Moines. I would like to know where you got it. I'd also like to know why you charged us for 12 sq. ft when it was only 9 sq ft. Chris: If you remember correctly when we first talked about quartz I told you that I don't get it and I have to pay whatever I'm charged for the material and now is not the time for either one if us to be arguing about the quartz you said you had to have.....the paperwork has not changed and you had plenty of time to look at it before we ever began Sharon. I'm sorry if you feel like you've been cheated but you saw the paperwork and it hasn't changed I absolutely will not offer you a refund as that is not fair to me since I told you what the circumstances were much before we started. I felt this needed to be in writing so that there was no mistaking my intentions. I am very glad that you are happy about how your tops turned out and hope that you see this should have been discussed much before now for sure. SR: Chris, I don't care what stage we are in--if I'm uncomfortable with some part of this condo redo, everyone is going to hear about it. I have worked with you enough times and Dan had also encouraged us to use you, that we thoroughly trusted you enough to be fair in any situation!!!! And, we on't think you've been close to fair. I still want to know where you got the Cambria and i still want to know why you charged us for 12 sq ft instead of 9 sq ft for the table.: Chris: I really don't care if you think I've been fair or not...I get to sleep quite well at night knowing that I have been. the table was 9 sq ft and the piece that goes between the table and the peninsula required me to buy 12 sq ft. So you tell who you have to just remember there are 2 sides to your story. Not going to have you or anyone else try and strong arm ne and be hateful and then you think I am just supposed to owe you for something we talked in depth about. Sorry won't happen. We don't go backwards after the fact. Just know that would be my stance SR: First, Chris, I don't have any idea when or where I tried to strong arm you. Have I given you any ultimatums or threats? So far I have only tried to get a couple of facts from you and express my dissatisfaction with how the bill was presented to us, Please remember I didn't even consider two colors util the end and I don't remember one time you picked up the phone or came to see me so how could you say we have talked about anything "in depth." How could you possibly think I would pay an extra $900 for a 9 x 9 sq ft table when i could have simply extended the main color. Did you ever discuss the bill with us? Did you ever offer us a 10% senior citizen discount? Or did we talk about that during the I depth conversation we had and I just turned it down? I am still waiting to receive the name of the place you got the quartz. Chris: this text was sent to you before I even sent the proposal...$9,640 for all Whitney except for the drop down table and reduce by $700 if we do it all the same material SR: You are correct Chris. I received the approximate 25 word text message in September. I do not call that an in depth discussion. For example: we ordered new Hunter Douglas for 102. The consultant came to our condo twice before placing the order. We discussed the cost of each of three different methods of opening and closing the shades; by hand battery remote or electrical remote. He wrote each of the proposals out separately-explained the extra costs of electrical work, battery cost, which may last the longest etc. this is what I call an in depth discussion! I would still appreciate direct answers to the questions I sent you on previous notes, SR: Okay, Chris, one more opportunity--I need answers to every question in the above messages. The most important one is where you got the quart you used in our condo 102. If you choose not to answer that is fine however I will pursue the answers myself then. I will talk to everyone in KC and surrounding areas that sell Cambria. Chris: Sharon as I had said before you have to do what you have to do . you got an invoice you paid it I was never secretive about it. We are done and now you want some type of refund? Sorry that will not happen. It makes me realize why I didnt want to help to begin with. I even told Jim with MS International I didn't want to help because of this craziness. Again my company is not a supplier of Cambria I paid a premium price for it because of that. I told you I would and even the price was given to you , I will absolutely not keep talking about those facts as we are repeating now. THIS IS THE END OF OUR COMMUNICATIONS. Here are some of my thoughts. Chris worked for us before. We hired him to put granite in our house in 2010(?). Last year we had him put white quartz in our first condo. We did not specify Cambria so he got white quartz from MSI (Q Premium Natural Quartz). We had a long piece put on the built ins in the bedroom which had to be cut into two pieces. Within a day I noticed that the two pieces didn?t match. Within a few weeks I became concerned about the quality of the quartz?more precisely the finish on it. To make a log story short Chris ended up replacing the pieces in the bedroom and MSI replaced two of the four pieces in the kitchen area due to the finish. We choose not to have the other two pieces replaced due to a granite sink in one and a mirror induction stovetop in the other, In all my dealings with Chris I never once heard him indicate he didn?t want to work with us or help. I never heard anything about craziness?I still don?t understand where he thinks the craziness is! Mark and Jim at MSI were wonderful to work with and not once gave us a clue that they were unwilling to work with us. In fact, they both admitted that there was a problem with the finish on their quartz and they wanted to make it right for us. Remember that Chris said that ?the piece that goes between the table and the peninsula required me to buy 12 sq. ft.??That piece measures 25? by 5 1/8?. I see on Chris?s company website that he offers a 10% senior discount. My husband and I are both over 65 but he didn?t say a word about it to us. It is my understanding that Chris is also trying to get into a different business in Wichita?perhaps his heart is not in this work anymore. There is a review that was done on July 1, 2013. Folks, everything in that review sound exactly the Chris Reyes we worked with this year. He came across as our best friends, like this is his life-time passion, and he often mentioned he was very professional. I also agree with the comment the he does not take criticism well?in fact, look at how he responded to some of my comments and questions above. I have a hard time understanding why Angie?s List denied this claim. In summary, I feel Chris handled this situation very poorly. I have seldom dealt with a business person who so adamantly insinuated that he did not care how the customer felt. Chris stated that he gave me the proposal and that I had plenty of time to look at it before they even started the work. I have one copy of the proposal and it is neither dated nor signed. I would love to see one that is. I also want to note that I did not once see Chris come to this work site on this last project?only his installer. Buy the way, he has only the one crew of two installers to do this work. I would love to include a copy of the proposal with this but haven't figured out how to include attachments. Om January 4, 216, I visited with two different employees at Trendstone regarding the situation with Chris Reyes. These are some of the items I understood abut their relationship with Chris Reyes. 1. They have not done any direct business with Chris however they had heard that Adam Burke (somehow related to Chris perhaps through marriage) had picked up quartz for him, 2. That during the first part of October someone (I assume she meant Adam) picked u a slab of Greystone quartz which was 77" x 37" which equals 19.78 sq. ft. 3. Trendstone has one price for all of their quartz. She had never heard of entry level price or adding on $64.16 for the Greystone color. And Chris also does an entry level price of $40.00. In short we could have walked into Trendstone and had the same work done and it would have cost $8715.69 as compared to Chris' price of $9640 which is a difference of $924.31.Then if Chris would have followed through with his web offer of 10% discount our total refund should be $1795.88. By the way the 10% discount is no longer included on his new web page. And, where is that 10 square feet of Greystone quartz he bought from Trendstone for which I was charged. Perhaps in the stack of pieces he has advertised on his web site,

My alternate resolution is to do research before a job is done if the pricing is not right. I told your member my customer [Member Name Removed] and also shared with her the cost. Its not like we just sprung it on her and even then she had the opportunity to discuss it. We would not have started or finished without her expressed consent. No matter what she signed a final check and so that should make it final. The job is great or she would not have wrote a check to finalize our deal not matter what.

I absolutely recommend Countertop Solutions for your next granite project. Except for a couple of miscommunications about installation times during the holiday season, we are extremely pleased with our new countertops!!! After a few bids for composite countertops at the big box stores, we looked up Angie's List providers and called Chris Reyes. He arrived promptly and explained his passion and experience. We mentioned we didn't consider granite because the previous stores said there would be seams. He eye-balled our kitchen told us that the granite slabs at his recommended providers would be big enough to cut and give us seamless surfaces. He also explained that his granite pricing would be very comparable to composite or laminate. He measured the countertops and gave us a price was substantially less than the big box stores. He gave us names of some granite providers and other contactors. We hand picked our granite at Stone & Beyond before Thanksgiving and ok'd the project for December installation. A few weeks later ,his installer, Umberto came to our house created "templates" of our countertops and took our new replacement sink to their shop to make sure they cut-out the right size hole. I visited the shop to see our slab and find out how they would be working on our counters. Umberto was very courteous and knowledgeable of his craft. He explained the granite would be cut the day before the installation. Umberto and his co-worker did a great job in replacing our old countertops with the new granite. When it was apparent that the previous builder had done a bad job on securing part of a backsplash, Umberto said that although he could not salvage the tiles, he would cut a piece of granite at no charge and make it a backsplash and install it a week later. We hope you consider Countertop Solutions for your next project.

The installation of the granite countertops was very good. However, when they were installing the granite counter tops they damaged the top portion of my stove. When they came to install the sinks they were undersized by about 4.5 inches, and that I was not given any choice of the size of sink that would be installed. I would have asked for the correct size sink. I have tried to stay in contact with them to come back and fix or replace the stove top but it has been almost a month and I'm trying to put my house on the market and I can not get the service provider to come back and replace the cook top.

We did damage the glass cooktop. The inexperienced contractor who put it in glued it to the Formica instead of putting the simple clips that come with all cooktops on. I ordered a brand new glass replacement valued at just over $300 and contacted an appliance technician the same day this occurred. We asked to put it in on the following Saturday but she said we could not come. The installation is being done by a technician who is not on my payroll I have had them reschedule three times now and they finally told me May 6th. I have kept in contact with the customer every step of the way. This customer and I physically went to my sink supplier together and hand selected the sinks in question. They are sinks we use in most of our home projects. Her physical hand selection is documented on the proposal, the invoice and stated in 2 different emails. These are great sinks.

Chris was very easy to work with and responsive. We originally had him out to get a quote for out countertops. We found out he had painters he worked with. We had several other contractors come out to give us estimates. Two companies came out then were never to be heard from again. One company quoted us but didn't include materials. We were so pleased with the lead painter. He was extremely detail-oriented. He had a cleaning crew come out after they finished to clean. The crew took about 2.5 weeks to paint our cabinets, trim, and fireplaces. We are thrilled with the results. Cannot wait to get our countertops done, too.

Installer Umberto and his assistant came on time and finished work in 3..4 hours. Installtion was done very well. Umberto also helped in moving the power outlet since the countertop size was reduced by few inches. Overall everything went smooth. Because of new sink size the side cabinet's needed to cut. Countertop solution sent cabinet person to fix it. Plumbing work was done by Tim the person recomended by Countertop solution. Backsplash tile work was done by Juan also recomended by Countertop solution. ( about $700 for labor of these 2 works. this price not included in above price)

I contacted Chris to remodel my kitchen, and it has gone terrible. First, Chris never drew out a design or let me okay a design. In the contract he said I would sign off and okay a drawing, but I never did because he never made one. They originally wanted to put my gas stove up against the wall, which would've been a code violation if they had installed it that way. I called him out on this because I realized I couldn't put a pan with a handle on the gas stove the way it would've been designed. So instead there's now a tall unit where the oven is, and there's around 16 inches between a cabinet and that gas cook top, and because they had to move that it's maybe 8 inches down where it comes down to the L that goes to sink. When I stand in front of the gas top cooking, someone can't be at the sink prepping or doing anything because I'm standing right at the middle of the L. If it would've been further down I could cook and someone could be at the sink. We also had to move the plates and everything else down further as well because of this. They broke a light fixture, and I had to hire an alternative electrician and plumber to come in and fix mistakes that the plumber and the electrician he hired had made. For just the alternative electrician I paid an additional $800 after firing his. They had to run a new gas line outside my house, but they never received a gas permit and in Liberty a person cannot touch a gas line without the city knowing it. They never even pulled a gas permit, nor did Chris ever pay to be permitted to work in the city of Liberty. He was carrying on business without the city's permission. He never even showed me liability insurance either, which I asked him for several times. The sub contractor told me it was my responsibility to get the gas permit, which is not true! I can't believe he even said that! I don't even know if they pressure tested the gas line, because it's already been sealed. I had a city inspector come out and he can't tell either for that same reason because it's closed. The electrician was supposed to reroute the electrical work and put it so the wall oven could be hooked up, but they left around 3 inches. Factory Direct said they couldn't put my appliances in because of this, so I had to send the appliances back and eat out another whole week until my new electrician could come out. Some of the receptacles were torn out and the metal on one switch was actually bent, which wasn't supposed to happen. It was a total demo. They put in new cabinets, but the cabinets are hung uneven. The master carpenter didn't use the template so he drilled holes completely wrong, and now the cabinets are unleveled through out the kitchen. The panel in front of the sink actually fell off into my hands, because they were stapled through the front. They weren't glued or screwed into anything. I was told by other contractors that the saw marks and jagged edges on the wood were due to a saw not being sharp enough, but when I asked the contractor about this he just told me they could put wood filler into it. The cabinets were made and installed with two different grades of wood, so I can't stain them the same. One of the cabinets was actually cut wrong and is sixteen to an eighth of an inch off which would need a sanding. The crown needs to be taken off because it wasn't put on evenly and has different coloring. I'll have to paint my cabinets because so much wood filler was used that can't be stained. All the corner cabinets need to be redone, and one of my Lazy Susans needs to be repositioned, as one of the hinges is already biting into the plastic even though it was brand new when it was installed. When the cabinets were put in there were an inch and a quarter of unstained wood between my stained floors and where my cabinets are, so the carpenter said he would lightly sand that stain mark and then stain it so that you couldn't see the non-stain and the stain, but he didn't. He only put a stain along the line of unstained wood. The trim work was never finished. They still need to build out the bottom of the cabinets and put that toe kick on since the cabinets weren't placed right. I called in a separate contractor to look at this job and she's said she's never seen work like this in 30 years that she has been working, and she actually builds custom cabinets herself. She said it goes beyond the superficial and that if it were her she would not except this job and it would need to be redone. Again Chris refuses to fix the work. I called Liberty Hardwood to get a receipt of the order for the wood Chris placed, but Chris let them know not to fax me a copy - obviously because it is incriminating, but I later found out that Liberty Hardwood actually sent Chris replacement wood to fix my kitchen free of charge. So now Chris has extra wood that he could be fixing my cabinets with. If there isn't a problem, why is Chris denying it? In addition, they also used old hinges. They had been pulled from an older job because they had white paint on them, and we don't have any white paint in our kitchen. He had told me they were new hardware. They put the wrong hinges in my corner cabinets, but they reinstalled new hinges after I had to pay again. They also put in a side board against the wall that didn't exist before with the granite and cabinets above and the carpenter kept telling me the wall was unlevel which it wasn't. But he put wood filling in the whole length between the cabinet and the wall, which is now starting to pull apart. I wanted slide outs in the pantry which they did. I wanted a shelf built out of the top of the refrigerator area and they did that, but they had to relocate the intake and outtake vent by moving it upwards on the wall. The guy didn't texturize the drywall though, so you can now see the textured and flattened drywall, so I fired him shortly after that. Chris told me I could repair the drywall or get someone to do that for me. The reason I fired the guy that couldn't do the electrical work was due to the fact that he wasn't able to get done and he had been working for 5 days. He knew the dates the appliances were being delivered to be installed and the work was to be done by then. All that was needed was some outlets. He told me he wouldn't be able to finish, so I told him you knew when they were supposed to be delivered. So I fired him, because I was not going to have the appliances sent back again. Chris has been here 1 time in 3 months. My hardwood floors are also messed up too, because they never even covered them up. Throughout the kitchen wood boards are also warped. On my island, I have a bunch of pull outs and drawers that were supposed to be adjustable so depending on what I put in those trays I could adjust it with a piece of wood to make more or less space, but Chris didn't have the equipment to make it adjustable even though he was the one who asked me if I had wanted it adjustable. So now those aren't adjustable. Chris paid both the sub contractors that had done this terrible work, even though I was showing him the whole time things that weren't being done right. On the last day that one of his subcontractors was here, he didn't do the work right at all. But Chris went ahead and paid him anyway. The worst part about this was not being listened to and lied to. Chris needs to take responsibility. He needed to be here through out this, but he wasn't, and you just don't do that to people. I don't trust the man, and I'm not signing anything else. The end work is supposed to start tomorrow, but they're requiring I sign a statement saying I will make the final payment when the work is to be done which I have a problem with and will not do. UPDATE: I am getting the work done on my kitchen because Chris has failed to even get the punchlist right and they were not going to redo my corner cabinets so I hired someone else and OMG my corner cabinets don't have the square in the middle that you can see up into like Countertop Solutions gave me. Apparently all the faces were glued which does not allow the wood to expand and contract so the New Company has remade the doors so the face is free is floating and can expand and contract with temperature changes. Also when they took the cabinets apart we realized these cabinets were not doweled like Ignacio and Chris said and they could move a whole section of cabinets because they were not screwed into the studs. Wow! Don't succumb to the smooth moves of Chris Reyes I'm telling you he was nice in the beginning too. I'm glad I took pictures and videos of all this stuff because it gives me proof not just words! I'm delighted that Rhonda knows what she is doing and they leveled all the handles some were up to 1/4" off. She has made a toe kick and finished with the round piece all the way around and even the sideboard it looks awesome. Rhonda and Mike(not from Countertop Solutions) Thank you so much! 816-289-2538 I can recommend them all day! She even replaced the garbage door that had circles for hinges drilled into it and instead of him remaking the door he used the mistake thinking I wouldn't catch it. Again, I'm glad Rhonda and Mike have integrity it has restored my faith, call me I will let you know who did the work. By the way the have cut all the round trim and when I finish it they will come back and install it for me as well I'm glad to have found them and will give thema raving review on Angie's List. We had a punch list and all is well with that too.

I am so glad that you were able to take the time to find that Angies List will deny the claim from this customer. I have taken so long to respond because I really wanted to find a short sweet way to properly answer this new finding. As you said that you heard in our conversations I am very serious about making sure that my customers are thoroughly happy. It is disappointing that this info has to stay at all considering most of it is false information. I never denied that there were items that needed our attention and would never have left this job or any with less than perfect results. I think it stemmed from my denying employment because after that there was no love lost on their part. Luckily even though your companies position is not to find out who is right or wrong there is some truth brought to the surface by denying the claim. Originally the representative from Angies List told me that since we had won the Angies List Super Service Award we should concentrate on it and the fact that there were so many folks saying great things about each of us individually. I could not let it go because again we are passionate about making sure that each and every customer gets what they are paying us for. Everything is itemized and all I's are dotted and every T is crossed to keep both parties from this type of interaction. There is no pressure from my company. We take our time to make sure that we find out every design idea we can from our potential customer and if needed add a little flair from our many years of expertise. We give references from folks we havent even finished with and ask that they call them after were done. What other company is that confident. We bid for free and have free designer help. We offer tile at what we pay for it in our own homes which is at least 50% off and we also offer door pulls hinges and more at cost. Other things that arent offered by my competition. Thanks so much Heather for taking the time to help put my mind more at ease because this shadow was hard on us.

My first impression of Chris Reyes (countertop solutions) was that he wanted and appreciated our business. Chris came to our home after normal business hours to accommodate our schedule in order to give us a free detailed estimate that gave us a clear understanding of what the cost were and the options we had. Chris was always available for my many questions, and everything he said would be the process is exactly how it went. The installers were very professional and polite, anything the asked of me which was very little they always said thank you. I expected a huge mess to clean up once they were done, however the only mess left was just my mess that I created with moving drawers and items from my counters to allow them to do their job, this was a pleasant surprise! We originally considered doing our bathroom counters as well and thought maybe we should see how the kitchen goes, and I have to say I will be using Chris for those as well when we are ready. I wish he did everything, tile, carpet, the whole nine, if he did I would use him for everything!

Chris Reyes, i.e., Countertop Solutions was excellent. Chris showed up on time with samples and advice. He took plenty of time to explain the process and options. Chris took measurements and made the estimate. My wife and I went to Bedrock International to pick the granite and sinks. A young fellow came to our house to make the template (there is nothing square in our mid-70's home). About a week later the tops and sinks were installed. We were very pleased from start to finish. The fit and finish are excellent! We decided to use the tile setter Chris recommended and the tile will be completed in a few weeks. We'll post pictures when the tile work is finished. We could not be happier with the result. Superb work!
Description of Work: Countertop Solutions removed the old countertops and installed new granite (Caledonia [kitchen] and Black Pearl [wet bar alcove]. Also, installed two Blanco sinks (Steel Grey 60-40 kitchen) and (Black 12" wet bar).

We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen from top to bottom. We searched Angie's List to find all the companies we hired. We called Chris for an estimate. He was a no show. Had to call and reschedule. Chris responded with that had never happened before. This should have been our first clue to move on. Instead, we hired Chris to install new granite counter tops based on his previous reviews and his estimate. They were scheduled for the install between 8:00am and 9:00am on 1/31/13. When they had not arrived by 9:30 we called. Somehow they had forgotten about us again. His response, again, was that that had never happened before. At this point, we definitely should have moved on to another company. However, they did agree to come later that same day. Given they were working another job, they rescheduled us for 1:00pm the same day. They arrived at 2:40. After agreeing to let them back into the yard, they backed into it 4 different places before leaving the truck parked. The crew was efficient at installing the counter tops. When they were done we had 2 concerns, the seam and the slabs were not the same color. We were told to wait 2 days for the stone to warm up and for the glue to dry. After the 2 days, the colors of the granite slabs are fine and we no longer have that concern. The seam was still rough, too wide, not the right color and not level. The seam is located in the middle of the only long run and so is incredibly obvious. We contacted Chis and he sent his crew back out to repair the seam. The same installer did the repair and readily admitted it was too rough and the wrong color. He took the slabs apart and redid the seam. Again, we were told to wait 2 days. We immediately called and left a message with Chris to let him know we were willing to wait the 2 days to see if the appearance improved but at that point we still were not happy with the seam. When Chris called back we told him it was no longer rough and was level. They used a different color glue, so that is somewhat better. The huge issue we have is the width of the seam. With the placement of the seam smack in the middle of the counter it is all we can see. Chris told us that as long as the seam is 1/16" it met industry standards. The seam is 1/16". Chris was not happy that the painter told the installer that Midland Tile and granite makes their seams almost invisible. Chis said they laugh at that company. He did not think he should not have to come out to see it because his installer told him it was a good job and he wasn't worried because he had plenty of happy customers. He was very proud of himself that he had installed hundreds of counters and knew what he was doing. I worked to get him to understand that was exactly why I hired him but I am only concerned about the one I had paid in full for. I had to be very persistant to get him to agree to come and see it. He agreed to come out 2/8/13. Due to vehicle issues he was unable to come until 2/11/13. Needless to say, that meeting did not go anywhere. Chris has absolutely no intentions of doing anything else to make us happy with want we paid for. He told me sometimes people are just not happy. I agreed, and as a small business owner myself, I told him that is when I give people their money back and let them go somewhere else. He simply told me he thought it was a good job and had done all he was going to do, although he wished I was happy. He told me I would like it more once the rest of the kitchen was finished. He was adamant that my inexperience with granite seams was my problem, not the seam. He said no company could do a better job. I explained that I took pictures of the counter and went to the home show. I talked to every counter top company that had time for me. From what I was told by other companies, there is no 1/16" industry standard. I also learned that I choose one of the top selling granites. One of the reasons it is top selling is because it is relatively easy to achieve 'seamless' looking seams. Chris's response was that he did not have to go to trade shows to drum up business. It did not matter what I said to Chris. I told him that I thought they did a good job matching the veins of the slabs. From that point on he kept telling me that he did not know why I wasn't happy when I thought they did a good job. He told us to go look at other counter top seams other places. I do not expect my money back. I love the slabs of granite I chose. I simply don't want to see that seam everytime I use my kitchen. This is the first time I have ever been told by a company that I hired that sometimes it just doesn't work out. Every other aspect of my remodel is wonderful and I am anxious to leave positive reviews for those companies.

Response from Countertop Solutions
Unfortunately this review makes me seem very pompous. As with all my customers I truly care about their feelings and how the install goes. As stated within the review this couple had never saw any seams to know what one looked like. As I came back to talk to them about the seam I noted that there only real concern was that the seam was too big. I challenge any company to come and make the seam smaller than what they currently have. It will not happen. Many companies will say they can do a better job but you will not find them here on Angie's List. The facts are that we did come back to take care of the things we knew were not completely right. Even offered to come and fill in dirt and seed if needed. Our seams are the tightest in the industry and to insure that, we have a Gorilla seam setter to mechanically offer that. I asked them to please go to some open houses to see what other companies seams look like so they can see that ours is top notch and hopefully not feel like they were getting something less than what they paid for. They both told me that he would. He said he already had planned to do that within a few days. Now a full week later and 2 different attempts to contact them to verify whether they had seen the seams or not have been ignored. I can only say please reread the part where money was asked to be refunded and then said that they didn't really want that to have that happen. I asked them to have another company come and tell me they could do a better job on the seam. They couldn't find a company that would. If I had said that I could do a better job at a home show I would be so willing to back up my work and my word I would have sent my men to follow up at no charge because I would not want to charge someone for something they had already paid for. One of my competitors has advertised for years that their seams are within a 1/16" and they are as busy as we are. It disappoints me that this couple has not completely followed through with looking at other seams before they decided to post the misleading information. However as I have hopefully stated I am 100% comfortable with the outcome of how the seam is very level, tight and color matched. No other company color matches their seam that I know of. They put one neutral color in the granite all the way through and is not even close to seamless. Message here is please take the time to look at seams and then you will know what to expect and we will exceed that expectation like all of out other customers have said we did. My offer has not changed. Find someone who can do it better and we will talk more then. I know that if you saw any seams they are at best similar to ours. It's not fair to the men that did such a good job in your kitchen to not completely follow up before you leave negative feedback. We will make it right if you can find another company that can do it better. That is what we talked about before I left the last time I we spoke in your kitchen. As you said, everything else you liked about the install.

I had 3 companies give me an estimate. Two of them simply came in, took a look around and gave me an estimate in about 10 minutes. The countertop Solutions person took just over 30 minutes in describing exactly what would be done, and all the preparation work needed before installation. This included making recommendations about back wash tile removal and removal of the existing sink. We knew exactly what could be done, and what could not be done. During the installation they cut the back wash tiles so they exactly met the new counter tops. We decided that we would not even have to grout the junctures since the fit was perfect. I would very highly recommend Countertop Solutions to anyone. We could not have had a better experience!

Countertop Solutions was highly recommended to us by a neighbor. She had them install granite countertops in her kitchen. After seeing the countertops, we chose them to install ours. I called Chris Reyes for an estimate. He called me back promptly. He came out to measure my countertops within a week or two. I couldn't find what I wanted for months. He was patient while I searched. Unfortunately, we had a hail storm destroy our roof and had to put the kitchen project on hold for a year or so. When I called Chris to tell him we had to wait, he was very professional and understanding. We begin the process again this fall, 2012. I still was having difficulty finding a countertop that I liked. Once I found one that I liked, it was nowhere to be found in the KC area. I started looking online and found one outside of KC that I really liked. Chris Reyes helped me to get the exact countertop that I liked. It was a brand-new company to both of us. Despite some misunderstanding with the price from the supplier, we were able to work out a deal acceptable to all of us. I love my countertops! They look beautiful!! If you are looking for a solid company to do good quality work, then I would highly recommend Countertop Solutions. They will make you happy!

The owner, Chris Reyes, personally worked with my husband and I around the clock to answer all of our questions (and we had a lot of them) and make sure that we were comfortable with our choices. We requested estimates from several other companies and not only was their estimate 40% more competitive than any other estimate we received, Chris was much more responsive than any other estimate provider. I could tell he really did want our business. As soon as we chose to work with him he setup time to walk us through granite warehouses picking out the perfect slabs for each room in our home. He even went the extra mile mapping out our layout on the slabs we picked out for our kitchen to insure the exotic pattern would flow across any seams without notice and it does! Thanks to him I don't even notice the seams that were required to fit our extra long counter top. His installation crew was just as helpful and professional as he was. We felt that Chris was there with us every step of the way and we are thrilled with our new counters and sinks. We shared what we spent with my father-in-law who is getting their kitchen counters done by another company and he said he is spending more than we did for all four rooms in our home on his kitchen that is smaller than ours. From start to finish we really loved working with everyone at Countertop Solutions and highly recommend that you work with them on yours too!

The countertops are beautiful and I am very happy with the countertops, undermount sink, and workmanship by his installers. They took very good care of my home and cleaned up beautifully. From beginning to end, Chris made the experience very helpful and pleasant. He was very patient with every question. He has a passion for his work and works hard to make you happy with the process and finished outcome.

We received an accurate estimate along with some helpful suggestions for the styling of our countertops. The template maker was on time and accurate. The installers came when they said they would and actually finished early. They took pride in their installation. They placed mats on the floor before the installation and cleaned up the floor before leaving. We couldn't be happier with our "new kitchen" and with the quality of service we received. We will definitely call Chris for future granite countertop projects. Chris and his assistants did a great job!

There was a home show at Bartle Hall and wife and i went there specifically to find counter top people who could come to house and give us a bid. We also found this company, Chris Reyes with Countertop solutions, on angies list as he was one of the "A" rated companies. We arranged for 6 or 7 bids from the Bartle Hall show as well as Chris' bid. All of the contractors from Bartle Hall were either too high, poorly rated when i checked them out on Angies List, or simply had a crappy attitude. Chris came in and he was professional and I think he caught the vision of what we wanted...seemed to be very intuitive that way. The rest of the bidders....I don't know, I guess the best way i could describe the other contractors was that they seemed to be like used car salesmen. Plus, Chris's bid was by far the least expensive. Plus, the faux painter he recommended was unbelievably inexpensive......3 or 4 times less than other painters...and she did a good job. Overall, very good experience. I would recommend him to anyone.
Description of Work: He replaced old counter tops with "Exotic" granite counter tops.....about 100 square ft...a lot of counter space. Plus, he recommended other contractors to do remainder of the work including backsplash tile, plumbing, and painting.

I (young lady) had him come and give us an estimate. I had been screwed around by other people, charging me for more square foot than what I really had and what not. Chris was honest, I knew how many square feet there were. Then we got to go pick our granite out from a large selection and they came and put it in the next week. It looks incredible!!!!!!!

He was extremely helpful. He knew the look that I was going for and after I selected my granite, he called me at 7 o?clock the next morning and he saved my project and told me that it was not what I wanted. If he had gone forth with that, it would not have been what I wanted. I got the green granite instead of the black granite because of the bad lighting. He kept all his workers waiting for work that morning, while I went and made a new selection. He is definitely worth going with. He is trust worthy and he really has your project in his heart. The guys who did the installation were fabulous as well. The price was very competitive.
