The repair was done on the same day of the estimate and Ryan was very nice to work with. I would use them again for any roofing needs.

They were very knowledgeable on the work. They kept in contact constantly because it was the winter season and they were not able to come right out due to weather. They did come out and start as well as finish the job. They cleaned everything no sign of debris left. I was very satisfied, the work was done very well. You cant even tell that they were ever there, the did their job and left.

I knew that replacing the roof on my home was not going to be a cheap venture. That being said, I made sure to get at least 3 estimates before selecting Christian Brothers Roofing. We worked with Ryan throughout the process from determining what work was actually needed till after the work had been completed. Throughout the process Ryan was friendly and professional. He took time to answer my questions as they came up. (I had several since I had not replaced a roof before) When the roof replacement day came, the roofers went straight to work. When I did manage to get away from my work and take a look, the roof work was going well. When they had completed, the yard and deck were cleared and you could hardly tell they had been there (aside from the nice new roof). After the roof work had been completed, Ryan followed up with us and personally walked the roof inspecting the work several days after it had been installed. I would recommend Christian Brothers Roofing. Their staff has been friendly, patient and helpful. For me that was a big plus. Thank you for a job well done!

Called C.B.R. on a Monday to ask for an estimate on a full roof replacement. The next day Ryan, C.B.R's project manager, came out and spent over an hour with me talking me through the process, and by far gave me the most detailed estimate by any company we contacted. I knew from the moment he left they were they company we were going to choose. Called them back the following monday and gave their team the go ahead to start the project and by that Friday the project had started. Work started promptly at eight with the tear off, and by dark that evening the project was done and the property was completely clean of any roofing debris. Our attic was having problems with ventilation causing many sheets of plywood to be replaced, (our home had no ventilation), however Ryan talked us through how to properly fix our problem so we wouldn't run into similar issues down the road. Just an awesome job by C.B.R and their team. Our roof looks great, and now we finally have our new home the way we want it. I understand needing roof repair or in our case a roof replacement can be very stressful, it was for us too, but the moment we called C.B.R. I knew we were in good hands. Will only use this company going forward and will recommend this company to any of my family and friends needing roof repair or replacement. We recently purchased a home and started on extensive renovation and remodeling. Christian brothers was one of 11 sub contractors we had working on this extensive makeover. Christian Brothers was by far our best experience. Every step of the way Ryan Horstmann was there with answers to questions before we ask them. Due to weather delays and other contractor delays we ended up re-roofing just as winter was starting. Ryan pushed his team and brought in other people to ensure that our job got started and weather proof before the snow and rain hit. Knowing that it was coming, they took great care to ensure that our roof was watertight every single night. We had heavy rains and snow during the re-roofing and didn't have a single leak. Through what ended up being a four week process due to weather delays, Ryan called me almost daily with the plans for the next day. He even pulled teams in on the weekend at the end to finish it off. The clean-up was exceptional. not a single nail or shingle left anywhere that we can find outside. We had extensive repair work to flashings and new gutters in areas prior to Christian Brothers starting, just to repair the damage from the neglect of the prior homeowners. Not a single gutter or flashing was damaged. I don't think the roof, valleys or hips have ever looked this good or been in this good of shape. If the other 10 subs were as professional and paid as much attention to detail, quality of work and communicated as efficiently and frequently as Ryan (he made sure if he did not reach me on the phone that he texted and frequently followed up with an e-mail), we would have completed the entire renovation about six weeks earlier. We couldn't be more pleased. 4/14/14 Update - In late Feb during the Brutal MO winter, we experienced huge snowfall. As is typical with hot / cold days we had a lot of melting on the roof and unfortunately noticed some pretty bad leaks in the master bedroom wall, which damaged the new wall, carpet and ceilings. The Stucco and General contractors were challenging at best to deal with insisting it was the roofer. I called Scott (owner) and ask him to come fix it as it was still leaking. Scott, Ryan and their crew made several trips and ultimately determined it was the result of Ice damming which was caused by a lack of adequate insulation above the master bedroom. Having just spent well over 100k remodeling this house we were not to pleased with having to spend more money to do repairs on something that we just repaired. Scott and Christian brothers were amazing. They came over, helped remove the damaged carpet pad, brought in de-humidifiers, climbed on the roof in the middle of winter to clear the snow, spread ice melt on the huge ice dams and then came back over the next two months after the snow had all melted, to check on the drying out process and then paid to have the drywall repairs done. All of which was way above and beyond. I can't say enough positive about these guys. They could have taken the low road and said "not our problem". But took the high road and way above and beyond. They have earned a customer as long as we live in the KC area! You just don't get this type of service anymore. These guys truly live by the principles they founded their company around.

I would say I had a positive experience overall. The owner, Scott Horstmann, was prompt and professional. Considering the quality and the type of materials we had used (50 year roof, Timber-Tex ridge cap, ice and water shield on all eaves etc.), the price seems very reasonable. They were also able to start the installation soon after the contract was made. The installation went smoothly and the quality is OK except on a few details. A huge amount of debris fell into a couple of downspouts and completely blocked the gutter. We only found it out when water spilled over in a rain. The workers also made a little mess on the siding when installing a new metal flashing and forgot to put one downspout gutter back to its original position. However, in both cases, the owner was very quick to respond to our phone calls and immediately sent workers to fix the problems. We were satisfied afterwards. Overall, I would give the company a B+ or A-.

They are so professional, and did a beautiful job. I love the look of my new roof. They cleaned up after the work was done, we can not find a nail or any debris after the project. They worked well with my chimney guys being here at the same time. I would definitely hire them again.

Scott Horstmann arrived at the duplex I own to bid the job. I felt we got off to a bad start because he said he needed to go inside to look at the attic. He was aware that the building was a rental property, but never told me ahead of time that he needed to go inside. I asked the tenant if he would be kind enough to let us come inside to look in the attic even though I had not asked to do this ahead of time. He did let us come in. When Mr Horstmann was bidding the job he tried to get me buy stuff(power vents, soffit vents, etc.) that he said was necessary. I double checked with a qualified hvac contractor and he said I had enough vents. Mr Horstmann recommended that I get a 50 year guarantee and I'm 76 years old! The roofers did a good job of installing the shingles I believe. The cleanup wasn't the best, there were pieces of underlayment on the yard, scattered around and a few nails on the driveway. I used the company because they had a good rating with angie's list.

5-24-2014 This is a follow up to my original review on 11-22-13 (see below). A week or so after I posted my review, Scott Horstman contacted me. He said that he had been to my home and agreed with me that the placement of the soffit vent over the front entry door needed to be corrected. He asked if I had any house paint that matched my color and I did have a new unopened gallon and left it out on my front step so he could pick it up during the day while I was at work. They painted the replacement siding for the soffit in their shop because of the cold weather and Scott said they would then just need to touch it up after they removed the vent and replaced the section of siding. I came home from work on the Friday after Christmas to find them working on my soffit. It was after 5 in the evening and almost dark. They had my driveway blocked with their truck and I couldn?t pull in. Scott said they should be finished in about half an hour and if they needed to, they would come back on Saturday to finish. I left to run an errand and when I came back it was dark and they were gone. The next morning, I looked at the job they did. The soffit appeared to be properly repaired but did still need touching up. There was also insulation and debris covering the front steps. They did not sweep this up and apparently had not used a tarp to cover the ground. I was expecting them to return in the morning to finish but I did not hear from Scott until 4 in the afternoon. He called and said he would come by to touch up the paint and asked if I had a paint brush. I told him that I did not and also mentioned the mess left behind. He asked if I had a broom and he would sweep it up. It turned out that they did not leave my paint and he did not have it with him so he said they would have to come by another time to finish. That didn?t happen until February 24. I came home to notice tire marks on the lawn next to the driveway and paint drips on the sidewalk. The soffit was finished but they did not leave my paint. Scott called me and asked if the repair was OK and said that he would get my paint back to me. In addition, he was to repair the overhead light fixture in my small shed that was damaged during the roofing job. The bulb was broken from all the pounding and apparently, it had shorted out because after their roofing job, it only worked sporadically. Scott indicated that he thought it was the switch and would set up a time with me when I was home so I could turn off the breaker. It has now been three months with no further word. At this point, I am weary of dealing with Christian Brothers Roofing. I don?t wish to hear from them again and will cut my losses. I firmly believe that if it were not for my original review on Angie?s list, I would never have heard from them at all. Scott's main concern was that I retract my review. I told him I would update it but then I decided to wait until all issues were resolved. And they still are not. Although they did repair the main issue I had with them, I can?t increase their score due to the way it was handled. I give them credit for the good quality of their materials but that is it. Workmanship on the roof was as expected to that is a C. Their pricing also was average. Everything else was terrible. If the roofing job was completed with absolutely no issues, I may have given them a B. As it is, their professionalism is sorely lacking. Homeowners be aware. 11-22-2013 Focusing on complete customer satisfaction? I don't think so. Ryan recommended installing soffit vents as part of my roof replacement. This seemed reasonable to me so I agreed. I didn't see any plans for the vent installation and trusted their professional abilities regarding appropriate placement based on the style of my home. The soffit vent installation was completed one week after the roof replacement. After the installer left, I noticed that he had placed one of the vents directly over my front door entryway which looked horrible. (My home is a single story with low overhanging soffits.) Each time I open my front door or approach the front entryway from outside, the vent is in plain view and detracts from the appearance of my home. In addition, it creates an issue if I would ever wish to install a different type of front entry lighting in the future. I checked the rear soffit and noted that those vents (installed when the home was built) were located between the rear door and windows - not directly above them. I spoke to Ryan and expressed my displeasure at the vent location over the front entry and asked him to correct it. His immediate response was that it would be "ridiculously expensive" to remove the vent and replace the siding over that area and that I had authorized the vents and the work was completed. He offered to paint the vents with paint provided by me. I didn't see that this would necessarily solve the problem and offered him a day or two to think it over and try to come up with a fair solution. He refused and just kept insisting that the work was completed and the payment was due. He seemed more concerned about receiving his money than my satisfaction with the work. I was very disappointed in this attitude, especially since they profess to be faith-based. I have had many types of contractors work on my home through the years - from plumbers, to painters, to carpenters, to concrete, tree work, deck replacement, and on and on.....I have never run across this type of attitude in any of them. If I ever had a concern, it was promptly addressed. I decided to mail Christian Brothers the full amount and not continue to try communciate with Ryan any further. It seemed to me that he was not experienced enough in roofing or customer care to deal with the situation appropriately. The situation remains unresolved. Hopefully, he has learned something from this and a future customer wil benefit. It's just too bad it was at my expense - literally!

The owner was friendly, professional, and prompt in providing a bid. He spent a great deal of time in thoroughly explaining the product and their company's processes and answering all of our questions. The installation started when promised and went well, and the owner came by daily to follow up and make sure we didn't have any concerns or questions. Great communication. The installers worked very long days and did a pretty thorough job cleaning up at the end. Some of the landscaping was a little worse for the wear, but that is probably to be expected. We're happy with the result and feel we made a wise choice with Christian Brothers.

Arrived as promised did the work even though we were out of town at the time and charged a fair amount. Couldn't ask for anything more.

I was looking at getting my roof replaced and was very impressed with the professionalism displayed by Scott when he came over and looked at the roof and sat down with me and covered all aspects of my roof and what his company could do to help improve my roof and how much it would all cost.I was even more impressed by what he knew about his profession. They were the first company I contacted and had he agreed to talk to my insurance company I believe they would have done the job for me, however they didn't think it would be enough wind and hail damage that they would cover it and so I told him I would think about it and get back with him in the future. I ended up going through two more of Angies List contractors before I found the one that would talk to my insurance company and they got the job and I am happy with the way it all turned out.

The job went very smoothly. Ryan was easy to work with and kept in touch regularly before, during and after the job was completed.

They were excellent and very clear in what they were telling they were going to do with the roof. Overall a great experience.

I liked the initial sales presentation and selected Christian Brothers because of their professional presentation. The actual work was on time, on budget and delivered the quality that I expected. Clean-up was excellent.

They were finished in a day an a half. They did a very good job.

The roofing crew was very professional and courteous. They did a great job and the finish job looks terrific. I would definitely recommend Christian Brothers for roofing repair and replacement. We would also consider them for the other services they provide given the quality of craftsmanship, outstanding effort, and the results they delivered.

Job was to start August 14 - but lots of rainy days (unusual for Kansas, in August) put their schedule a bit behind - job got rescheduled for the next week. Plan was to strip the house of it's 3 layers of shingles, with new shingles being delivered mid morning. Initial planning indicated the job to take ALL of one day, with a possible few hours the next day to finish up. This was partially due to the number of layers on my roof, plus the condition of the sheathing was on unknown. Four sheets were dropped with the shingles. Also, Ryan spent time in the attic - determining how many rafters needed to be repaired - and his trip to the supplier's was for additional sheathing and extra 2x6 rafters. House roof was stripped clear, sheathing replaced, the solar tunnel (skylight) that I had bought was installed onto the roof, the exhaust fan vent was installed, and I would guess - 95% of the house roof was done the first day. Friday morning, the crew returned and stripped the shed roof - replaced a piece of sheathing on both sides of that - re-shingling the shed, the ridge vents and shingles finished the house roof - yard was cleared of all debris, and crew was gone - all before lunch. Fast & Fantastic job! Ryan told me that a square of shingles weighed about 300 pounds - my roof was at 20 squares - which means 1 layer was 6000 pounds. The previous owner decided to put a third layer on this house - so I had approximately 18,000 pounds on top of my house! The trash trailer got a work-out, as it was dragged to the recycling center.

We are 100 percent satisfied and will call them on our next jobs.

We went with Christian Brothers because of our first impressions and the quality of the estimate. Scott went into great detail explaining the process and steps used by his company to insure the long lasting protected required in our part of the country due to the severe weather. The guarantee to the homeowner and support of his company far exceeded anything that others were offering. The quote listed everything up front with no hidden costs or unexpected exceptions. When we looked at some of the special deals out there, we noticed right away that they did not include everything that we needed done. When we scheduled the job, there were some delays. The company was committed to doing the best job they could and paid close attention to the weather and what the homeowner deserved that they were currently working with. They treated each job like they were working on their home and we knew that they would do the same for us. On the first day, they started working before 7:30 and didn't leave until well after dark. They knew that a storm was coming and worked the second day until everything was sealed up and everyone was soaking wet. The crew worked well together and did a great job. Our roof looks beautiful. Roofers showed up on time every morning. Worked hard throughout the day, into the evening. Professional results. Would use them again.

Hard working. Well supervised by Ryan. All workers professional and respectful. Within contract. Full disclosures of changes that were necessary. A very positive experience.

Entire job was completed without a hitch, no problems at all. Haven't really had a rainstorm since the work was completed, but we assume there won't be any problems. The work was completed promptly, clean up was great and the roof looks good. We were promised a written warranty from the shingle manufacturer, that did not arrive and I had to contact Christian Brothers a week or so ago. They said they somehow didn't send the paperwork to the manufacturer, and said they would take care of that immediately. We haven't seen the warranty yet.

Ryan H. estimated our project. He was excellent at explaining options and repairs that might be needed. He also presented two options of roofing material quality and life. He recommended a ridge vent system with inlets vents in the soffits. He also pointed out that our attached garage had no ventilation at all! We appreciated his thorough inspection and agreed to all of his recommendations. His crew showed up on the appointed day and completed the work before they left. Their cleanup was excellent. We did see some shingles buckling slightly on our garage roof. I called Ryan and they came out the next day and reworked a small area. We've enjoyed our roof for about a year now and it looks great, no leaks or signs of problems.

They arrived as promised to check out the problem on a Friday morning even in the rain. They could not seal it because it had to be dry and rain was forecast thru the rest of the day. They were willing to come back over the weekend but already had plans to go out of town. They came by the very next Monday and resealed it with no charge. It has not leaked since.
