Description of Work: Need repair to a GE oven and microwave. Called Carroll based upon their Angie's List profile, on Monday, Oct 8. Talked to 2 people, describing my needs completely, and finally talked to their actual service person later on Monday. Described the problem completely and provided make and model numbers. Set appointment for first service call Wednesday morning, Oct 10. After 10am, service man calls and asks all of the same questions about problems, make and model, and i went through it all again. Then this person tells me that he 'doesn't really like to work' on these appliances, and offers to give me someone else as a reference. I have stayed home from work to meet this person. Now i start all over. Beware people. . . . .

+ -1 moreThey did a nice job. He had ideas for us to use so that we never had the problem again. The price he charged was very reasonable. The person who came was very knowledgeable. He had worked for that company for about 20 years and he really knew his product. He was very helpful as well. The do not do GE products.
Description of Work: I used Carroll Appliance Parts & SVC to repair a kitchen stove and dishwasher. He came and discovered that there was a pipe that was frozen. He recommended to leave a certain panel and when it got down below 20 degrees he can make sure it never happened buy putting a small heater.

Description of Work: I require assistance with several large appliances. When contacted, the company representative told me they did very little work with large appliances. They were also unable to recommend me to anyone who worked on large appliances. Perhaps this company is listed in the wrong category. Also the company's email contact on this listing is non-functional. Wasted time.

Description of Work: I called the service dept to repair a glass inset in the oven door of my thermador kitchen stove. Rick (the service person) said he could not repair the door without getting the proper part from the thermador company. He removed the door from the stove and took it back to his shop, saying he w ould call me when he had any information. A week later he called and told me that no thermador facility he had called had the part and that they (the thermador company) actually didn't manufacture this particular model any longer. (My stove is approximately 20 years old) He told me he could fashion a metal plate that would cover the area previously covered by the glass window. He did just that and 4 days later came to my house and reinstalled the oven door. I am infinitely pleased because I was contemplating having to buy a new stove.

+ -1 moreThe repairman came and assessed the damage and at first was dubious that the stove could be saved, since whatever shorted out had also messed with the electronic controls. But he found a way that he could rewire the controls and keep me from having to buy a new stove. I'm always wary of appliances that have fancy controls, because when it comes time for a repair, it's often the control brains that can't be fixed. I hate this! But the fancy, obsolete stove (a Roper Nouvelle downdraft slide-in) came with the house. He came back the next day with the part and only took a few minutes to install it. I know from looking online that he gave me a good price for the part, too. He is responsible for my blowing my diet because then I baked a cake!
Description of Work: My oven shorted out and went nuclear. It was an older, discontinued stove and not many repair places will work on them. Carroll Appliance came out and saved the stove by replacing the shorted-out element and also fixing the controls. If they hadn't gone the extra mile and fixed the part that was in the controls, I would have had to buy a new stove.
