+ -1 moreOur experience with Ms. Shores was a nightmare. Her lies about hundreds of dead worms in a basement not being a sign of water was only the beginning. She told us "builders will not negotiate" and steered us away from brand new homes. When we asked her to take us to homes in Smithville, MO, she told us Smithville was a bad community with bad schools. She would never want her family living there. She would not take us to Smithville. When we asked for comps on a home we were thinking of offering on, she told us there were no good comps in that neighborhood. However, a similar home had sold one month earlier right around the corner for $40,000 less than the home we were looking to offer on. We learned this information from a new friend who was an investor of real estate, not our "buyer broker agent", Ms. Shores, who was supposed to be working for our best interest with full fidelity and integrity. We purchased a brand new home in Smithville from a different Realtor.
Description of Work: We moved to MO at the end of December 2005. A friend referred us to their "excellent Realtor". Because of our friends' recommendation, we trusted this woman. On the second day out with her, she told us that we had to sign a buyer broker agreement. We told her we had never had to do this before. Trusting her because of our friends' recommendation, we signed. The contract said Ms. Shores would look out for our best interest with utmost integrity and fidelity. We quickly learned she was not being honest with us. When we asked her to end the agreement, she refused. When we asked her broker to terminate the agreement, he refused saying Ms. Shores was one of their finest Realtors. If she is one of their best, who is their worst?
