Byron did an EXCELLENT job. He was on time and very professional and thorough. He worked hard and fast to get as much done as he could within the 8 hour time frame I purchased. He cleaned up after himself as well. I would most definitely hire them again.

I'm happy with the results. The price may be a little higher than some other contractors, but that is mostly due to the higher quality paints they use. They completed the painting according to our agreed-upon schedule and the results look great.

When Doug Bates came to my house to give me an estimate, he asked me to stay with him as he looked the house over. He pointed out issues he could fix, and a couple of them I hadn't even noticed. Even with the extra jobs, his quote for the job was the same as another painter who hadn't noticed the problems. I wanted to keep the house color white, and Doug recommended a brand of paint with a white that he had used and liked. The paint is perfect! The entire crew was hard working, professional, and open to my questions. Plants were protected, and everything was cleaned up. I would hire them again, and am telling all my friends about this company.

Owners, Donna and Doug are professional and checked in on our painters 2-3 times in the 1-1/2 wk period. Painters, Patrick and Randy were personable and excellent workers, showing up on time every morning and getting down to work. Both took pride in their work and were detailed in their work: sanding and patching holes and cracks, hammering and repairing nail popouts, taping off woodwork and applying 2 coats to each room. We had some electrical work done which resulted in 2 small squares cut out of hallway wall to search for wires. Patrick made the wall look like it had never happened. Removing the popcorn ceiling in family room was tedious work, but it gives the room a whole new look. The wallpaper removal was no easy task (it had been on wall for 18 years), but Patrick did a beautiful job and we're so happy to have the wallpaper gone. We couldn't be happier with the Bates staff and the quality of their work and won't hesitate to call them next time we need painting done.

Doug and his painting crew did a very good job. They were very professional and easy to work with. It was a three man crew. They arrived early and did a very good job at keeping the noise level very low. In additional to the painting of the house, they replaced an outside light bulb which I didn't have access to, because it required a very long ladder. They added a nice touch to the gutters. I would recommend Bates Painting Company to anyone looking for a very professional paint job.

Very well. Doug and his guys worked very hard to get this job done before the colder weather and rain set in. They were on time every day and communicated with us very well. Donna & Doug Bates are great at working out the details. We have vintage French pane windows and was so impressed with how Doug meticulously painted.. Clean up was amazing. They used a shop vac outdoors to pick up any paint chips and even cleaned the leaves from our window wells before reinstalling the covers.

Originally, I found this company through Angie's List and was amazed at the high ratings from so many customers. Donna came out to assess the job, and she got back to me with an estimate within a couple of days. I had pretty much decided I would use them before the estimate, just based on the reviews of others and Donna's expertise in color choices. The quote seemed a little high, but I liked Donna's professionalism, and I felt confident that so many of their customers had put in A+ reviews, they had to be above average. There was a wait to get them (over a month), but I was hopeful it would be worth the price and patience. This was a home I had bought but not yet moved into, so the spaces were empty of furniture. The first two and a half days were spent taping up the trim, covering the floors, removing faceplates from switches & outlets and patching holes. The next several days were spent cutting in corners and edges. Then the walls began to take on color. They ended up having to put four coats in some places, due to the differences in what was on there and what I was changing it to, but when it was all done, it was perfection. And during the work, they kept order both in the house and in the garage where they stored the paints and tools. Tarps were laid down on the garage floor, just in case something dripped. Each day ended with a cleanup. And after the final cleanup, it was as if they had never been there (they even removed all their own trash), except for the change in the way the rooms looked. They were beautiful. I have NO complaints about this company. They are worth the slightly higher cost, just to have peace and harmony during the process and to have such wonderful results at the end. I have never had a work crew that was so easy to work with, nor have I ever been so pleased with the final results.

very nice company. professional, considerate, on time. they painted my exterior and totally transformed this tired old house to a fresh and pretty home. they really know their stuff! it's refreshing to get superior quality and trustworthy service without hassle. dougs team are talented and responsible and i'd hire them again.

The workers showed up on time everyday and left at the same time everyday. They consulted with me when necessary. They were clean, friendly, and pleasant. They cleaned up and hauled away everything. They made sure the dog couldn't escape from the house. The owner was very pleasant, and consulted with me when decisions needed to be made. It basically took 3 days to complete the job. They frequently had me observe what they had done to make sure that I approved. The price was exactly the same as the bid they had given me.

The crew absolutely went above and beyond my expectations! They didn't rush through the job, but rather paid close attention to detail and did the most immaculate job I could have ever asked for. The crew chief of George and Mike were absolutely wonderful to work with. I could not be happier with the experience of using Bates Painting Company! Doug and his crew were great to work with. They fit us in between larger projects. It took about 1.5 months to schedule, but I understood that we were a relatively small project (only 2 days of work). Doug would reach out weekly to let me know that we were still on schedule. Bates Painting was a middle bid for us on price, but Doug took the time to explain exactly what he could and could NOT do. He set realistic expectations for how clean they could get our extremely dirty stucco, and exceeded them. His team repainted our exterior trim and shutters as well, and their work is immaculate. We had an issue with crumbling stucco (pre-existing), and Doug helped connect me with someone who could patch it for us. Doug will be my go-to for all upcoming paint work! Thank you!

The work was pretty extensive. They are an excellent service.They're easy to work with and competitive. They did the work very quickly.They did everything. They cleaned up after themselves. They were respectful of family members. They were also punctual. I highly recommend them, with no reservations.

We've used Doug Bates and his company many times over the last 20 years and were now using them again. We've had them do both exterior and interior projects, and have been continually impressed with their professionalism, talent and responsiveness. Best painters I have ever used! Doug Bates and his team are precise, thorough, diligent, and pleasant to work with. Art and Ty were the primary painters on our home and continually went beyond the call of duty to provide us with the highest quality results. We had just completed the refinishing of our hardwood floors and were concerned about the impact of the painters work on our floors. Art and his team completely covered the hardwood floors with paper and tape and followed the boy scout motto; "Leave No Trace". I recommend Bates Painting without reservation.

Mr. Bates and his company painted our home in the summer of 2013. He was on time every day from start to finish, and the house was prepped as we planned and expected. The work was neatly done, and clean-up was good. Winter passed, and we had some paint peeling on the garage door, front door, and a window sill. Mr. Bates had his crew come out and re-do the work, and the surfaces have held up well. You couldn't ask for a nicer gentleman who is honest, reliable, and stands by his work. We would use Bates Painting again and recommend without reservation.

Doug Bates and his crew were greatt!! Doug was very awesome in getting the color combination I wanted on the house for the main color, trim color, and garage door color. The house looks amazing! Doug gave a very detailed quote of the work which I really liked and followed up several times to make sure the process was going how I wanted it too. There was a crew of 4 men that worked on the house for 4 days. They were prompt each day and did a great job. The crew foreman, Mike, was very nice and always available for any questions. I am very very pleased with the paint job and would definitely hire Doug and this team again.

I was totally happy with the result of the project. Doug was very professional and fun to work with from the meeting to get the estimates put together through the completion of the job. His crew was very easy to work with...reliable, prompt and skilled at what they do. They discussed with me repairs that were needed to some wood trim and also to replace a cracked window pane to get approval for a minor increase to the cost. It's amazing how much a new coat of paint on the trim has brightened the look of my little bungalow. I will definitely use them again as I have other painting projects that I plan on doing in the next year or so. They are top notch!

I can't say enough good things about Doug Bates and his crew! From the first call to the last walk-around, they were wonderful to work with and did an amazing job. Our house is 23 years old and was not well taken care of (possibly never painted since it was built!). There were several places where wood rot needed to be repaired, and lots of caulking and sealing of screw holes. The crew foreman, Art, and all his crew were polite, professional, and hard-working. They checked in with us and made sure we were satisfied throughout the process, and Doug checked in every day to see how the work was going. They fixed every tiny thing I could find before I could even get a chance to bring it up. They used quality products and made sure each step was done before moving on, and cleaned up exceptionally well. They were punctual and communicative.
