Doug was well organized, attentive, and thorough in his evaluation. His crew worked well together and with me. After work began the crew added special touches to make the final result excel.

Doug came out and gave a walk around with me asking questions and giving answers to my questions. Doug then emailed and sent by mail an estimate for my home. I had received several others and compared them by emailing or calling wiht questions for more information. Doug was always prompt and very detailed with answers. After looking at several other bids, I chose DA Bates Painting. Beacuse of the volumn of business Doug let me know we were several weeks out from having my house painted. I understood that because of ann the strom damage this spring and the backlog of work for good contractors. Doug called me on Firday and said they would be there the next Thur., he call again on Wed and gave me a time that they would arrive on Thur and they were right on time. Mike, Doug's foreman on my crew, was kind and very helpful with letting me know what was gojng to be done, as far and scraping and priming and wood replacement. Thru and Fri was spent prepping the house with priming new wood, etc. They arrive at 7:00 each morning and ask if they could arrive at 7:00 on Sat, which ok with me. THERE WAS NO LOUD MUSIC OR VULGER LANGUAGE USED AT ANYTIME, WHICH I APPRECIATED AS WELL AS Y NEIGHBORS. i WOULD RECOMMEND AND USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN, AND I WOULD REQUEST MIKE AND HIS CREW.

Wow from the get/go Doug was great with communications, working with me, dealing with questions and timing of the project. Ty and son, with George worked so hard handling every detail on the house and fence. They repaired needed boards as they worked and did an absolutely amazing job on the prep work and painting (brush and roller-NO SPRAYING), taking down my downspouts and cleaning up (no drips on the tops of my exterior light fixtures from THESE guys!). I never worried about how things were getting done or being managed. I knew the job was being done RIGHT. It was a load off my mind to know these guys were really taking pride in the process and end result and I could see that they did such a splendid job. It all went like clockwork. The job took longer than expected only because my house needed so much and previous painters did not do the needed prep to do the job right so, these guys had a LOT to take on to make it right. Doug worked with me to get the primer, caulk, and paint I wanted which ended up being what they mostly use anyway so it was nice not to have problems with that. And, since it's normal for them to use higher end products, there were no hidden extras padded onto the quote just to have the right tools for the job to make MY money go further and not have to repaint again so soon. Other company's bids padded on an ADDITIONAL $500 for the same paint. Ridiculous! I can't say enough about how great and what a pleasure it was to have these guys/this company work on my home. I'd use them again in a nanosecond and highly recommend them. Doug/guys...keep up the good work. It's great to know there are companies out there like you.

I contacted Doug and requested a quote on painting the exterior of our house. He came out and prepared a detailed proposal which he emailed and also mailed a hard copy. It contained work procedures detailed by numbered steps, insurance information, payment terms (payment upon completion), materials to be used, and specific notes that were each numbered. It also stated the guarantee period and the schedule when the work would be performed. We were pleased with the quote details and noted Doug's ability to listen to our specific desires as he noted them on the quote so there would be no confusion later. Doug also answered all our questions and concerns and was easy to talk with. We ultimately ended up going with another painter but believed that Doug would have provided an equally good paint job.

Fabulous work. Doug and his team did an incredible job; punctual, professional, courteous and offer suggestions when we asked. We could not be happier with the final product. Doug made sure we were fully happy before leaving the job and asking for payment. We did get estimates from other reputable painting companies but we went with Doug based on comments from Angie's List and his responsiveness to our calls. This was by far the best experience I have ever had with painters! Doug was one of 5 painters we talked with and was the only one to get us the estimate by the date we requested. I was having a difficult time selecting colors and he happily assisted me in making my final decision. The team was professional and on time each day (project was 4 days long). I appreciated the team's moving the furniture and carefully taping/protecting the woodwork and rooms we weren't painting. The team did a great job with both the painting and the cleanup--no drips or paint on any of the woodwork or carpet. The project was completed on time. Doug was in regular contact to check on the progress and our satisfaction with the work. I haven't found a reason to call for any touch-ups at all. The house looks so great, even my hyper-critical mother couldn't find any faults! I would highly recommend D.A. Bates to anyone who is looking for value and quality the first time!

From the first morning on the job, the painters were very professional and got right to work. I provided the primer and paint and they supplied all the other materials. I was impressed by how much prep work they did, from covering the floor to taping off all the surfaces they weren't painting. They were very quiet, no loud music, I hardly knew they were there. The job took 4 days, but all their time was well spent. The company owner came by every day to check on how the job was going, asking me if I was happy with the work being done. I am very happy with the work they did and their professionalism and will probably use them again.

He did a great job. He is very punctual and follows through on everything. We had a few paint bubbles and he happily sent people back to fix them. He went above and boyond our expectations.

It was a really great experience. Doug was on site every day to keep us up to date with his crew's progress and his crew was on time every day. After the house was power washed, any exposed wood areas were primed, joints and nail holes were caulked. I really couldn't find anything that was missed, and I looked! Doug was willing to put up several different body and trim colors so we could see the differences. The paint swatch books will only get you in the neighborhood of the color you think you want; it will always look different on the house as we found out. We had some trouble getting the paint to look right on our front door, but Doug was able to get it done and now it looks great. The paint job looks awesome! I'd highly recommend Bates Painting to anyone looking to get their house painted. Doug and his crew take pride in their work and will ensure you're completely satisfied.

We were very happy with the guy who came out because he seemed knowledgeable and thorough, but we haven’t decided on a contractor yet. The estimate was reasonable.

The best painting company we have ever had! They go above and beyond what you would expect. Extremely professional - prompt, polite, quiet. They went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the work they performed. Doug actually charged me slightly less than the estimate.

DA Bates' crew did a great job. They were on time, very professional and friendly and did a great job. Everything was caulked and painted by roller. The site was cleaned up and left neat every day. House looks great and we couldn't be happier with the job they did.

I decided to get the job done by another contractor. He gave us an excellent estimate and I would definitely hire him if I were to do it over again. He was very courteous and descriptive about the work that he was going to do. He explained every aspect of the process and gave me a very clear view of what the job would entail. We had made arrangements for a set time and he showed up within the time frame.

Excellent, professional, good quality. Very helpful in working with us to select the paint, trim and accent colors. They actually provided a 4th color for the doors without additional costs. This was a recommendation from the contractor, and looked great afterwards. Bottom line, they seem to care what the final product looked like.

Doug Bates, owner, oversaw his crew headed by Tyrone. The job was completed with great attention to detail and the workers were professional and highly skilled. We were so blown away by our experience that we invited the guys to start the interior during the winter. We had some pretty heavy smoke damage to our living room ceiling and the guys would not let up until it was totally erased. We decided to have our wood trim painted white which updated and brightened up our living space and bedrooms. Overall, the work completed was fantastic and we plan on keeping in touch with Doug for any future painting. I have already told our family and friends to go with Doug if they have any painting to be done.

We called Doug in February for an estimate to paint our house. He came out on a Friday and we had the estimate over the weekend. While he was at our house, he told us in detail all the work that would be done. When we received the estimate, we were a bit surprised at the amount, but considering all the work that was going to be done, we decided to accept it. We are so glad we did! The work was completed in late March. The crew was on site for most of 6 days. They were always friendly and considerate of our needs. They were very professional and left the area clean at the end of each day. We are extremely happy with our experience and would not hesitate to call Doug for any future work.

Terrific. Doug returned our initial call within 24 hours. He is prompt, professional and extremely thorough. His painting team consisted of three men all of whom were polite, respectful and hard working. We felt very comfortable leaving the house during the day while they worked. Doug was in and out during the day to check on their work. They did such a good job at a very reasonable price that they'll paint the exterior of the house this spring. His bid is $500 less than we paid to have it done 5 years ago. Doug also extended a 5% discount because we used Angie's list to find him.

Overall we're very satisfied with the exterior paint work that Doug and his crew did. We would hire him again.

Doug did the work himself on this job. Doug made many trips to the house because it was a multi-day process. Doug was always on time or he called if he was running late. I would certainly use Doug again for my painting.

Bates wasn't the lowest or highest bid I received. They were about in the middle. The crews arrived on time each day, were very polite and respectful of my property. No loud music, no swearing, etc. Very, very professional. I will be calling them this spring because it will be time to re-stain my deck.

Were we totally impressed with the entire paint crew. All four men were polite, friendly and professional. They got to business each day early in the morning and it was enjoyable to see the changes to our home at the end of each day. They did a wonderful job. They cleaned up daily and left the yard spotless and clean on the final day too. They handled getting all the paint for the entire job. We will most certainly select Doug again in the future. We are so happy with the paint job that we told Doug he can count on us to be a good positive work reference for him and will be happy to speak to people considering using his company. Very well - work was performed very well, timely, they cleaned up after themselves. Very satisfied. We are in the process of hiring them again for another paint job.

Doug Bates came soon after I called and looked at my house. Within a day he sent me a detailed estimate of the job, which was very reasonable compared to what I had paid the last time I got the house repainted. His team of painters was a delight to work with. They were courteous, responsive and easy to talk to. Doug was on the job every day to make sure everything was going well. The job was completed on time and the house looks great. There was one window sill that needed to be redone and Doug came out and took care of it immediately. This was one of the best experiences I have had with a contractor. Doug is easy to work with and is very responsive to any specific things you want done. I will definitely use him again.

This company did everything they committed to in the estimate. I was very pleased with their punctuality and there professionalism. My house on the back side had problems with the previous paint job peeling. What I loved about this team is they informed me of what needed to be done and they did everything as they said. The painters were very respectfull to making sure the landscaping and window were not damaged or painted. I would definetly recommend and use this paint company again.
