I purchased my AC/Heater unit through Arctic Air a little over 3 years ago. When it wouldn't cool this spring, I called them to come out. They said they'd be there on Wednesday they didn't show up. After calling, they said they'd definitely be there on Thursday but they didn't show up. Repeating this same scenario on Friday. No call back, no nothing. When I called to cancel on Monday I wasn't asked why which I found strange. I felt like I was struggling to get someone to say "they'd look into it" but never felt I got the apology or empathy I deserved as an existing client.

Brandon called to give us a time frame on when he would be at our house. Brandon showed up when promised and within minutes he knew what the problem was; we needed a solenoid replaced. Unfortunetley he didn't have one on his truck, he said it might be Monday before he would have it. It was 31 degrees outside and rainy, we had just moved into our new house and our furnace stopped working. Brandon said he might be able to find the part somewhere even though it was Saturday at 6pm, he informed us that he would look for the part and call within 45 min. Promise was kept .he came back with the part, put that on; he also installed a shut off valve and put a new thermostat on and did not charge any extra. That was nice, We will be calling them again when we have any other problems with our heating or air. Great customer service and skill!!

I called late on a Wednesday afternoon. I received a call from Brandon within 10 minutes. Because our air wasn't working he scheduled me for his first call on Thursday. He was on site at 8:00 a.m. this morning. He was unable to fix the air conditioner because it was clogged. He told me to call a duct cleaning service to clear the coil and then let him know if the unit wasn't cooling properly after the cleaning. He would not charge me for the service call! Amazing! Highly recommend this company and Brandon.

My furnace went out in the middle of the night and the temps were very cold. I called at 8am and they were here by 9am and finished before 10am as I had to get my terminally ill husband to the VA. From the first phone call to their office until after Brandon got here, they were very thoughtful, informative and compassionate.....I would highly recommend them to anyone. I called late afternoon and a technician was at my home by 8:30 AM the following morning. This was " heat advisory " weather and it was our second day without AC. We thought/hoped that we needed only a Freon charge, but instead there had been problems with the starter and due to many false starts it had burned out other components. The technician could offer only what he said could be a temporary fix, and advised that we needed a new system. We decided that we would have to make that purchase. They started installation within 2 hours and finished within 4 hours. The young men who did the work were pleasant, courteous, efficient. They cleaned up after themselves, and even took off their shoes when they came into the upstairs. We didn't comparison shop, so I don't know how the price would compare with other systems or companies. So far, it is operating perfectly, but it is too soon to rate quality of the product/brand. We are very appreciative for the quick service.

Our A/C stopped cooling about 8:30 PM on a hot and humid evening. When I realized that the house was starting to get warmer, I checked all the things I knew to check. I called Artic Air at about 8:45 and was told that someone would call within the hour. About 4 minutes later Brandon called and said he would not be able to make it until 8 AM or before 9 AM in the morning. After a while I told him that was fine. We put fans on us so we could sleep. At 7:30 AM the next morning Brandon called and said he was en route. I was very glad. He arrived and came shook hands with us and proceeded to the a/c unit. He was very knowledgeable and found the problem quickly. He explained and showed me the problem. Replaced the solenoid and put the a/c together. It started and ran great. Brandon made an extra step by washing out the fins. I would use his service again recommend Artic to my friends.

I had originally called for service as my AC was not working. After inspecting the unit the technician recommended I replace it .It was over 20 years old so I had kind of expected that. He explained several options, with different price ranges depending on what I wanted to spend. After deciding on the unit I wanted, they were able to schedule us for first thing the next morning. He then recharged our system for us to get us through the night. There was an installer at the house at 8am and we had cold air by the afternoon. Both the tech and the installer were courteous and professional. I will use them again and would recommend them as well

We received a call Sunday evening advising that they would be arriving between 8-9 AM on Monday. The technician arrived at 8:15 and immediately began work. They took great care to place runners on the carpet and protect the area around the unit. The technician worked non-stop for 4 hours and by 12:30 PM, the new unit was up and running. He went through the handling of the new thermostat (we removed a heat pump) and explained the functions and care of the new unit. The entire crew performed professionally and politely throughout the process. I would not hesitate to recommend Arctic Air to family and friends in the future. Great Job!!!
Description of Work: On Friday, June 21st our A/C went out overnight. I called Arctic Air early Saturday morning and a service technician was at my home before noon. He checked the system and advised that we had lost all freon as a result of a leaking coil. He went over the various options available to us from recharging the system, replacing the coil and recharging the system or replacing the A/C unit. As the unit installed was a contractor grade unit and 14 years old, we opted to replace the unit. The technician placed the order and advised that he would try to get it scheduled for early Monday morning. He worked on the unit to try and get us some cooling through the weekend.

This is a good company and I have used them before not only for service calls but I also had them put in a brand new AC and furnace a couple of years ago. I find them to be trustworthy and not out to gouge you for something that is not necessary. Their pricing and overall business practice is excellent. I won't use anyone else and I would recommend them highly!
Description of Work: I had them come to my residence to do a check on my AC before the hot season starts. They cleaned the unit and gave me some tips on how to maintain my unit on a monthly basis. They also checked my filter and gave me some advice on that too.

Overall it was a great experience and would recommend them to all of my friends and family. It was honest work at a very fair price.
Description of Work: I had called that morning on Saturday and thought since it was the weekend I might not be able to get anyone out very quickly. I was impressed to recieve a call within 15 min from the technician whose name was Brandon. He said he would be over within the hour. I had already had another company out to do service on my Furnace about a week before to do routine check up. They charged me over $250 to do a tuneup and charged the extra money because they said some wheel was very dirty which included extra work. Ever since they left I felt it wasn't cycling right so they came back out 2 times since their first visit and each time someone different came. That's when I decided to call arctic air. The service technician Brandon showed up and within a couple minutes had found my problem. The technician from the previous company had hooked my motor up wrong and when the furnace came on the motor didnt because it was hooked up wrong. He rewired it up properly and then checked the rest of furnace out for us. He was very honest and very knowledgable. I would recommend this company to all of our friends and family. He didn even charge us extra for the weekend because of the trouble we had already had with the other company. I will definetly be calling arctic air back if we have any heating or cooling problems in the future.

On 11-24-12 the technicians for Arctic Air came to our home for an emergency after hours call. Our heater wasn't cycling properly and was blowing cold when it was on. On previous inspections we were alerted to the fact that the"control system interface" (my words, the motherboard) may need to be replaced. We agreed and it was replaced. We paid a total of $615.95. The next day it occured to me that we may be under warranty. Sure enough we were! BY 1 YEAR!! I spoke to LeAnn on several occasaions. They were unable to locate me in their system. They were unable to verify I had even purchased a heater from them. They couldn't even verify I had purchased fillters from them not once but TWICE in the last 4 years. It was always a hassle when I stopped in to buy them since they didn't know what type of furnace I had. Via the phone, eventually, they said I was in the system but only had 1-2 yearly inspections done. Therefore they wouldn't honor ANY warranty. I have had my furnace serviced EVERY year because it would OBVIOUSLY negate the warranty if I didn't. It's also a safety issue since my home is my biggest investment. Since year one I verified I didn't need to keep the receipts for the yearly inspections. The technician said "NO" since they would be on file if I ever needed warranty work. I just needed the original purchase paperwork which I have. I even made a call to Ray Nash, the owner and installer, to see how we could rectify the situation. I asked about their record keeping. He informed me that any installation paperwork that far back was archived and in a cave. He was defiant and short with me saying they may not have even installed my furnace. I faxed additional information to LeAnn on 12/14/2012 and have heard nary a peep from ANYONE since. So I decided to write this review after I saw the advertisment in my Angie's List book. Please understand, this furnace was installed long BEFORE I was an Angie's List member. However, this is pertinent information and I am out $615.95 because they won't honor their warranty. Beware...

In an effort to resolve the situation, I will explain o you the manufacturer’s (we do not provide the warranty, but the manufacturer provides the warranty) process and procedure regarding extended warranties. Member requested service on her furnace on Saturday, November 24th, 2012. At the time of request, there was no mention that her furnace may be under warranty. As Member stated in her complaint to you, it did not occur to her until the next day that her furnace may be under an extended warranty. In following procedure, the customer must convey that they have an extended warranty through the manufacturer and provide us with the certificate number which is located on the certificate that the customer receives from the company that handles warranties. When the service technician verifies that the customer has an extended warranty, we must then call to obtain a pre-authorize in order to proceed with service. (The procedure is printed on the warranty form that the customer receives). Since Member was unable to provide the necessary documents, including the certificate, the certificate number, along with the maintenance history that is required by the manufacturer, when we filed for the warranty, the warranty company denied the claim due to incomplete and inaccurate information which was provided to our company by the customer. We cannot accurately submit a claim without accurate information. While Member complains that she hasn’t gotten results from us, she has not taken the responsibility necessary to complete the claim. This is much like a patient who wished to see their physician, provides them with an inaccurate name, fails to present an insurance card, and expects the office staff to process a claim. It’s quite impossible. To explain why we were not able to locate Member’s installation when she called, she used a different name when she spoke with Leann, our secretary. Leann used our data base to search for her name, but there was no one in the system by that name. Apparently, when the installation was completed, she used yet again a different name, and that is how the invoice was entered into our system. That is the reason for the inability to confirm that a furnace was purchased from our company. As far as filter sales in office, we do not enter those into our data base, but we provide the customer with a sales receipt. A filter is located in the return air duct work; it is not a part of the actual furnace. The size of the filter is clearly written on the actual filter. The type of furnace that a customer has doesn’t indicate what filter is used. In order to comply with the extended warranty, the customer must provide the extended warranty. Member scheduled three furnace tune ups on the following sates since the date of the installation: Installation date was 11/06/03. Tune ups: December 27th, 2004, April 18th, 2006, November 11, 2011. This is a total of three preventative maintenances service calls in nine years. Of course Member states that she had her furnace serviced every year. If she has records that differ from what we have, she may provide copies of them. As far as locating the installation record, it’s quite impossible to locate a record with a name that differs from what is on the installation record. It is the customer’s responsibility to provide proof of installation and the warranty certificate. Although Member provided the installation invoice, she did not provide us with the warranty certificate and service records. The denial of the claim has nothing to do with the lack of cooperation on our end. However, Member has failed to provide us with the necessary documentation in order to process her claim. We process all claims in a timely fashion if we have the necessary documentation to do so. Our company does not have the ability to approve or deny any claim that is submitted. It is the decision of the warranty company which is based on the information provided to them. We would be happy to re-submit the claim if Member can provide us with the necessary documentation that is required of the warranty company. This includes copies of the past nine years of preventative maintenance records which she claims she has and a copy of the warranty certificate. Member has blamed our company for the denial of the claim; however she has not provided the proper documentation in order to process a claim effectively. Therefore, we consider Member’s complaint to be unjustified. If you need anything further from us, we would be happy to provide you with your request. Again, we would be happy to re-file the claim if we receive the necessary documentation in order to do so.

What my husband and I find to be so impressive is from the office staff, technicians and sales team we were treated with the best customer service that we have ever had! Description of Work: Arctic Air did such an amazing job for my family! We purchased a new system and are beyond pleased with the professionalism we received and the work was flawless! The emergency service after hours on the weekends was prompt and no additional charges. It was very cold on this day and for the manager to work us in to get our system installed on Saturday was truly going above and beyond to get us some heat.
