Yikes! Wish I had read the reviews beforehand. They first showed up at the final destination instead of the starting address. They broke a mirror and had to take it with them to trash. They pretty much hit every wall with every piece of furniture. They claimed a table couldn’t fit through the door and it very easily could. They left the feet and cushions of couches on different floors of the house where the couches were not located. There’s a lot more but the thing that angered me the most was how they damaged our BRAND NEW EXPENSIVE dining set. We spent a ton of money on this move and completed the survey at the end of their service and it asked if we wanted to be contacted. I said “yes!”, obviously. It’s been a week and we still haven’t heard from them. I highly doubt we will.

I would strongly NOT recommend using All My Sons. The largest problem I faced was a final charge that was twice the estimate. I can understand a little leniency in the difference between the quote and the final payment, however, twice the cost is unacceptable. For a company that has been in business for this long, they should know how to adequately estimate the cost of a move. Not to mention, I moved a large bulk of items by myself before the movers even arrived. Don’t let yourself be fooled by this company’s prepayment charm. While my movers were great and respectful, the customer service or corporate staff for AMS was a nightmare to deal with. When I tried calling their “customer service” to discuss the disproportionate difference between the estimate and the final charge, I had to speak to an employee, Josh, who was abrupt and insolent the entire conversation. Also keep in mind, this company will only pay a small fraction of the value of items damaged. Moving by itself is stressful and there are far better moving companies to choose from than to deal with the absolute headache this company provides.

I booked my move on 4/14/2023 for a 6/1/2023. I called and confirmed the move on 5/30/2023. However on 5/31/2023 at 2 p.m., I received a call from a very unprofessional young man asking "Do you got any flexibility on your move date, cause if not we gonna have to cancel you." When I asked what the issue was he stated, "it is what it is, and if you don't have any flexibility I'm gonna have to cancel you." I inquired further and he stated, "It ain't just you lady, we canceling over 60% of our moves today." I wish I had read the reviews before I booked with this company.

A terrible experience overall – we moved in June, the move was a total disaster, they did not show up the day they were supposed to, there was no notification, I was on the phone for an entire day before anyone got back to me, I can go on, but not much new to add – just see the extremely poor reviews on this company and they are fairly consistent in the message – lots of last minute cancellations, no notification, very poor customer service, once you sign off on the contract you will have a VERY hard time reaching anyone at the office that can tell you (or have ownership) of the details on your move, and once you have a contract with them they will ensure they get full payment since they have your goods as collateral. After the disastrous move, they got to our new house and halfway through STOPPED, then asked for payment and ONLY AFTER I made payment, did they continue unloading my stuff. Do yourself a favor and get another mover – Moving is extremely stressful – you don’t need to make it anymore by intentionally picking a bad moving company. Beware the sales rep who comes to your home for the estimate – VERY professional and terrific service and you think you are getting a good company. Once you sign up, there is almost no ownership from the company on the hand-off. Jim Pennington is the owner of the Kansas City branch of All My Sons – one of the least professional person I have every come across. He promised me on a phone call that he would call back and ensure I got a discount or something to take care of the terrible move. No word after he called and said he would be back with more information. All My Sons has a very effective marketing message – tons about customer service, tons about the customer in the center of everything – but once you sign with them, you will realize a lot of it is false marketing.

Terrible. Over an hour late. Three men, two were inept. One wore Crocs, acted stoned, was inert. Other one was angry and took it out on my furniture and boxes. No one knew how to load a POD or follow directions. Had to supervise each one to blanket furniture and do everything else. Told me they couldn’t move a dresser upstairs because it was too heavy. I had to tell them to take out the drawers first. I explained I had numbered the drawers. When dresser was in POD, they couldn’t put the drawers back in numbered order. Did not strap down vertical layers in POD. Both wardrobe boxes were loaded on their sides. Sewing machine placed askew so legs would snap like a twig. POD contents would never withstand lifting by POD company, much less a long-distance move. Couldn’t wait to get rid of them, but that could have been their plan: self-sabotage. Was told I couldn’t SEE an itemized invoice before they left unless I signed for and paid their invoice in-full; that corrections would be made afterward by the office. Received a minimal refund for packing supplies I was charged for, but never used; that’s the extent of “bill-adjustment afterward.” Illegal and fraudulent. DO NOT USE ALL MY SONS. I’m taking them to small claims court.

TERRIBLE! I CALLED ON 21ST FOR NEXT DAY MOVE. Gentleman was eagerly ready to take $100 reservation fee. That night recieved email to confirm and I replied for confirmation. The next morning that same representative from the email states. The move information was incorrect and they hadn't the man power or hours available to move me. Then he goes Into saying how much 1600 plus (wow!) Outside of my original quote from the previous day. Long story short after many 10+ calls for my $100 back I been receiving the run around. Today I had I guy say well your bank has rejected the refund 4xs...yeah right. I don't trust this company and neither should you!

Do Not Use this company in Kansas City. I was quoted $577 to move a one bedroom apartment 2 blocks. 3 movers. Should only need 3 hours. We were scheduled to be the first move, between 8:00-10:00. It rained and All My Sons asked to delay start until the lightening stopped. We agreed, but when the storm ended at 9:30, they then informed us that one of the crew was driving back to KC and wouldn’t arrive until 11:30-12:00 noon. They supposedly couldn’t start until close to noon then. We were the first move of the day.... they couldn’t tell us a crew member wasn’t even available up front. I had people scheduled to help unpack, so everyone was delayed. Jimmy, the owner, was awful-he said he wouldnt give any discount for their 5 hour delay in starting. We were charged $124 for fuel. We moved 2 blocks! Seriously??? We’re were charged for 6 rolls of tape, a mirror box and a mattress bag that were not needed or used. They started at 1:00 and finished at 5:10. When we moved the same apartment a year ago, we had 2 movers and were done in 3 hours, and had to drive 30 minutes. They overcharged everything...I paid double what they quoted. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY and don’t work with the owner, Jimmy, at all.

We were uneasy from the minute they walked in the door on moving day. No Virus protection worn, or offered. One employee smelled like pot. The employee that reviewed the paperwork with us before they even started moving anything, said that they wouldn't have any trouble beating the estimated time and wanted to know "If they could count on us to "take care of them" if they beat the time estimate?" One employee was wearing flip flops to start and later changed into tennis shoes. They did a fair job of wrapping and protecting the furniture but left lots of corners of furniture uncovered and ended up getting dinged. They tried to move too many pieces with only one person when they should have used 2 people to make sure they didn't hit walls, doors, door jambs and trim. They tried moving an odd shaped desk piece and put an 8-10" long gash into a door. (They did tell us that they did this and a repair man did get scheduled to come fix it and did a great job!) They did not go back through and clean up their mess of left over tape rolls, or twisted plastic wrap. They broke a plastic bed platform frame by trying to pry it apart with their two wheel dolly. Fortunately the frame still went back together well enough that it was still usable! We were told during the estimate/sales meeting that if the crew disassembled a piece of furniture that they would put it back together. However, they didn't bring any tools with them so we had to disassemble a table and china cabinet. They did not reassemble these. (no tools). They did not reassemble 2 beds that they took apart. (they tried sort of but left parts under the beds in hope that we wouldn't notice!). The crew somehow dinged up the piano music stand??? But again the repair guy that came out did an amazing job repairing it! The crew also LOST a sofa table stool (18" long x 18" tall x12" deep)??? It was one of two that went with the set. Pretty expensive piece! We immediately called the same day to let the office know that it was not in our new house or the house that we moved from. They said they would get back to us. They never did. We called them at least 10 different times and were told Matt would get back to us. Even when we did speak to Matt he said he would check and get back to us, but he never called back??? After the 10th call (and 2 weeks of trying) and finally speaking with Matt he said this had NEVER happened before and there was nothing he could do??? Wow!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They are good salesmen but that is where the good stops!!! DO NOT USE THESE GUYS, THEY ARE JUST OUT TO MAKE MONEY AND RUN AWAY.

Did not go well. The company was on time. Went through everything. Got loaded in 30 minutes arrived at the new place. then is where it was horrible. Charge for wrapping. Outrageous. Cover for a bed outrageous. Travel time $109.00 are you kidding me that's in the price per hour. I would have never agreed to have these things done if I knew the price. Then unloaded never had me check the truck. Never said thanks and bye they jumped in the truck and left horrible customer service. I will never ever use this company again or tell any of my friends to use them. Business needs shut down. Not even a call back after I called and complained.

OK, I normally hate having to write a review, but this experience with “All My Sons Moving” of Overland Park was over and above bad. I make my living in sales and this, this was an all around failure by the people supplying the service including the Owner that I ended up talking to. The first of August I scheduled All My Sons Moving and Storage to move from a 2,200 sq. ft. home to a new home of comparable size. The Mover arrived at 11:00 am in the morning on Friday and started the move. By 2:00pm the movers were complaining that my furniture was too heavy and and saying my, “Eathan Allen”, furniture was too heavy and suggested several times that they can be more helpful if they get a good tip. One of the movers said my stuff was too heavy and that he was through for the day. We had boxes upstairs and they used a dolly to move them which was fine, but they did not ease the dolly down the stairs but ran it down the stairs. They scratched the furniture since they dumped it in the yard on top of other furniture and when we asked that they wrap the furniture and use pads as the estimator said they would they got mad, (I never raised my voice, they had my things on the truck and me by the short hairs), The movers after this request called their manager and said that I was disrespecting them and they were going to quit, (This was to protect themselves from later complaints) their manager called me and said that his people were upset and wanted to quit and asked that I apologize, huh. Well finally we were ready to move to the new house at 5:00pm and I bought them dinner to calm down the situation. Well at the new house the same thing happened and they did the same things, but what could I do, they had my things on their truck, I just wanted them to be finished. Every time they destroyed anything, the lead mover would take a picture and said he would give it to their management for them to review and take care of, (I late found out after talking with the owner that they do not take pictures and he had nothing with regard to the move), I figure this was done to make me less mad and not document the damage myself. At 8:00pm the lead was after me to complete my bill which was $1,000 more than estimated, I guess I could have said no but they had my stuff on their truck so, yes I signed their bill, very tricky. The move ended at 11:00pm. I was never so mad and happy to see them go. Needless to say, I called the owner and told him how bad the move was and related the sory above and he was sympathetic but no discounts for the trouble or apology. The Owner said he would call his furniture guy after he got off the phone to come do the repairs to my furniture. Well, here it is the end of September and never a call or visit. You make the decision, would you want to use this Company?

Heads up. Eighteen days ago I scheduled All My Sons movers to come on 5/5/18. Guaranteed in writing on 5/4/18 for 8 am. Got a call at 8:22 am on 5/5/18 to say the crew was NOT coming. The company said my crew left Colorado and drove all night home and they needed a 10 hour break. How did they calculate they would be here for the guarantee? If they hadn’t come back last night, they would be driving back all day today. So how is it I got a guarantee when it wasn’t physically possible? No heads up for making alternative arrangements. No offer to help on Sunday after the crew gets sleep. Said they would call friends in the business but nobody called. Don’t rely on All My Sons. Thank goodness for good friends.

The four movers were on time ...even a little early ... all were friendly and helpful. When they packed my daughter's 22 foot Penske truck they quickly ran out of room because it was evident they had never properly trained ... not to the fault of these workers. I had to step in and request they unpack the truck 3/4 of the way and repack with our direction. A couple of the individuals grumbled but I quickly put a stop to the grumbling and they were very accommodating to re-packing our truck. They were all nice "young" men and I do not fault them in any way as I believe it's the company (management) fault for inadequate training (or lack of any at all). Once the repacking was completed, the entire house contents had been tightly packed perfectly! We tipped the young men because they did do a good job and worked very hard for us. Better management and training is what this company needs so do not blame the individual packers who are working very hard and loading very heavy items.
Description of Work: We hired the movers only and not the truck as we just needed manpower to load a Penske Moving truck for out of state moving.

Not well! While I gave the company a "C" for punctuality - they at least called to say they were on their way the morning of the move, that was the best part of the day. The four-man team they sent were extremely unprofessional. They acted like it was a game to see who could carry items individually instead of as a team and laughed when each other dropped items. When we requested they work together as to not hurt themselves or our furniture/belongings, they ignored us. While I have too many instances to share, suffice it to say, I was not happy when they damaged hardwood floors and literally broke/shattered furniture. I was further insulted when the company expected full payment before they would unload our furniture without providing documentation on how All My Sons would repair damaged floors and furniture. I was told they are a company of their word ... plus they were holding our belongings hostage on the truck. I paid ... big mistake. For over two weeks following the move I attempted to contact All My Sons to follow up on how they would repair damaged floors and furniture. I never had my calls returned. I disputed the final payment on my credit card - not the deposit of $700 but the final charge of $946.75 - far less than the cost of repairing/replacing damaged floors and furniture. Now, All My Sons has time to contact me via my credit card company. Stay away from this company.

All My Sons Moving & Storage in Kansas City is by far the WORST company I have ever dealt with...EVER. In December 2016 we hired them to move us just a few blocks away. They didn't show up when they said they would, they damaged several pieces of our furniture because they "piled" it in the truck without using the moving pads or tying anything down, all of their employees had a terrible attitude and were belligerent (the local manager, the project manager, and the movers), and they drove off with all of our possessions in the middle of our move demanding payment in full before they would return. To use the word "clowns" to describe them is disrespectful to the hard working clowns of the circus, but the way they operate truly seems like an unrehearsed clown show...but there's nothing funny about them at all. I wish there was a way to give negative 5 stars for a review.

They say you get what you pay for, and I didn't even get that. Double the cost quoted!!! BEWARE!! Movers were slow and took forever. They wouldn't listen when I gave suggestions like "fold the futon to get the frame to fit through the door." Instead they just kept shoving to do it their way. They ripped and punctured a hole in my Foster mattress because it ripped from them not knowing what they were doing and they just kept pulling. Then when I called to let the office know, the guy sounded bothered and told me to "send him the pictures" that I took. That was at 9am. At 3:30pm I called to find out what happened. All I was told was that he did bother to send them off to customer service and they would get back to me "When they heard something." They couldn't even get back to me to let me know they received the email and would be sending them off to higher ups. It's the most shady business I have EVER worked with! And I know I will never get reconciled for the damage they caused. I've had to move several times in my life, and this experience has left me in tears with frustration and loss. I would have been better off moving all by myself even if I couldn't move the furniture alone!!! Please spare yourself the misery! They also kept insisting that I tip them in cash because if you go through their bosses they don't get it. Most likely because it's covering the damage they did! They made me uncomfortable by continuing to ask for tips and then was all angry that I wouldn't give them anything! I'm sorry they know where I live!

I own minimal, basic furniture. 3 beds, 2 couches, 3 dressers, 1 dining room table with 6 chairs and other boxes and bags. It took three men 2 1/2 hours to load the truck and they didn't even get take everything, I had to move the rest because I didn't want to keep paying them to move so slowly. When we got to my new home, I had to pay before they would unload my things and the bill was twice what they quoted me! They tried charging me $70 for supplies that weren't used and they charged me $85 for fuel to go 7 blocks!! They held my belongings hostage until I paid them the ransom they were asking for. Very rude and unprofessional service. This company is a sham and is running a scam. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MOVING COMPANY!!

It was one of the worst experiences of my life. They did not have blankets for our furniture. They didn't have any plastic wrap. There were 4 people each day. Among them, I don't think they had a year's experience. There was a lot of damage to our furniture and missing items.

So the picture included is the pile of stuff All My Sons movers didn't grab because there "wasn't room" which is false i saw plenty of room in the back. We paid over $900. For 5 hours of work and an hour of travel time.(we moved 23 minutes away) We had a bunch of stuff set aside for donating, and we showed them the other pile of stuff they were supposed to grab, they took several of our "take" bags and tossed them onto the donate pile. (so glad we checked!) When we got here, we noticed Mom's Fallout4 CD isn't anywhere to be seen, so we continue to look through this last week, and again when we get back to the old place. It's no where to be found and I remember that one of the movers we had to let back in at the end because he left his backpack inside.... I'm sayin' Why you need a bag inside a place you are moving stuff out of??? 2 of the 3 guys were surly and acted like they were doing us a favor to be there. They didn't put things where we asked them to with the exception of large furniture. We will NEVER use All My Sons Moving again and definitely will not recommend them to people we like.

Horrible company. They failed to go over any of their moving rules. They never mentioned TV's had to be taken off of a wall or washers and dyers needed disconnected. Both easy fixes if you know in advance. A problem if you're at work while the movers show up and its' just your wife at home waiting for them. Not to mention they were supposed to call when they were on their way, instead I get a call saying that they are "3 minutes away". The best part is that the first thing they moved was a couch and they broke out the window in my basement door while moving it. Also we cleaned the house out to the point where all they had to move was 3 beds, two couches, one chair, washer/dryer and a mini fridge...The move was a 15 minute drive from the two houses. The guys that run the company had no idea what we had to move but told the movers that the move would take 4 hours. My wife watched the movers milk the clock and turn a 2 hour and 30 minute job into a 4 hour job. Total cost was $713.00. Then when I went to bed...As soon as I got in bed the right side of it collapsed. Come to find out all three beds they put together in my new house were done with half of the screws and they had the mattresses switched around in two rooms with the double on the queen size and visa versa. As if the moving experience couldn't get worse it did. Carter the owner there was no help the next day. Since replacing the glass they broke out would cost $100 anyway I asked them the next day to discount the job a total of $250. I felt more than fair, the owner of the company declined to do so.

I had several different quotes and was unsure about using these guys as they were the middle of the road, pricewise. After using them, I have no regrets. Moving crew worked very hard the entire day--start to finish. I would recommend anyone to use them.

This was a horrible experience. The service and professionalism of the company were, at best, poor. The only positive remarks that I have for this company are the provider who performed my consultation and the actual moving crew who were polite, efficient, and performed quality service. My consultant came to my house to look at my belongings and provide me with a quote. We discussed basic price and the date for the move. After he emailed me to confirm a date AND time (6/7, 8-9am) I was pleased and excited to get things going for my move. On June 6, I recieved a call to confirm my move. I spoke with Jimmy and he confirmed my move between 8-9. LITERALLY, he said 8-9am. On June 7 at 915am, when the crew hadn't shown at my home, I called the company and spoke with Zack. Zack assured me that the crew was 'probably on the way' as they had left their location around 745a for my AM move'. 20 minutes later, Zack called to tell me that 'he made a mistake' and that the 'my crew was mistakenly sent to a short move' that morning and that they would be at my location in an hour or so. After that, I called the consultant to alert him to this problem. He quickly responded and called the office, called me back to tell me the same thing that Zack told me. I called the office EVERY HOUR after that. I was given the same line every time 'that they are finishing up' and 'should be on their way'. I communicated with the consultant after that, because I was exceedingly becoming upset. Around noon, I called and spoke with Brenda, who was very rude. She told me that the crew was still at the other location. She also told me that I 'had no reason to feel inconvienced because the company does not guarantee appointment times, only a day for the move.' She also told me that another reason I had no reason to be inconvienced was that I had been given a time time range for the move. I reminded her that it was now NOON and that my time range was between 8-9am. I asked to speak with the manager, because again, I was inconvienced and a mistake made by the company (not myself) AND when first alerted to 'accidental dispatch', Zack actually said that HE MADE A MISTAKE AND, no one from the office was responsive to the mistake, the fact that I was waiting, and that they were actually lying to me about what happened and when I should expect the crew. Brenda told me that Jimmy was out of the office and I could call back to speak with him. CALL BACK? Jimmy called me at 1p. We had a long discussion about this problem. Essentially, he told me that the company DOES NOT confirm a time, only a day. I READ him the email that the consultant sent me about the time for the move AND reminded him that HE CALLED ME TO CONFIRM THE 8-9AM START THE DAY BEFORE. He actually responded by saying that yes, he did confirm the time, but that did not actually mean anything because it is NOT guaranteed. I asked for a discount and he told me NO, that this ENTIRE MIXUP WAS NOT THEIR FAULT and that if I didnt agree to the 'guaranteed' he would call off the movers (the movers who had YET to make it to my house). Apparently, guarantees are only one-sided with ALL MY SONS. Of course, as the move needed to occur that weekend, I agreed. He then told me that the movers had finally clocked out of the previous move, and that the previous move was only 30 minutes from my location. I immediately called the consultant and he actually, said 'Brenda doesn't know what she is talking about, we give customers times all the time'. He said that moves are not only guaranteed by day. At 154p, I called the office because the movers had not arrived at my location. I spoke with Zack. He told me that they should 'be there any minute' that they 'probably stopped to get something to eat because they are only human'. The crew arrived at 215p. The crew was polite and sensitive to my irritation. I explained the situation. They worked efficiently and took care of my belongings. They took 2 10 minute breaks in the 5 hours it took to complete the move. I was also told by the crew chief that the office had frankly lied to me and that the move they were dispatched to in the morning was a SCHEDULED 2 DAY MOVE TO BE COMPLETED SATURDAY MORNING. During the move, I was called on MY CELL PHONE, by Zack from the office who actually asked me to give the phone to the crew chief so that the two of them could work out how the crew would 'clock out' since the office closed at 5pm and the office staff were going home. He said that he couldn't reach the crew chief (WHO WAS CURRENTLY MOVING MY BELONGINGS). He asked if I could write down a few numbers to give to the crew chief!!!! WHAT???? I said that I was a little busy moving at the moment and he said okay. We hung up. After the move was complete, I contacted my consultant to let him know how things went. I also asked him to have the proprietor of the business contact me the following week. I HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM THE PROPRIETOR. Overall this was a HORRIBLE experience. I would NEVER reccomend this company to anyone. I joined Angie's List simply to be able to document this horrible experience. I am also placing a YELP review and contacting the BBB today. 1/ The guaranteed date and time that was emailed to me 2 weeks prior to the move and confirmed the day before the move was not uphelp 2/ The company lied to me about the mix-up 3/ They were not responsive to the mix-up and how to rectify it 4/ The office staff WERE NOT professional in ANY manner. 5/ I was essentially held hostage between cancelling the move or JUST DEALING WITH IT. PLEASE BE AWARE

I can't believe these guys are still in business. I feel like they stole my money. I could have anybody for $730.00 to the same job for less than half of that. They picked up my stuff and put it in my storage place. That's it. Plus they missed a big bookshelf and I finally had to get a U-Haul and move it myself even though they said they would do it. They promised pads I could buy - no; they promised boxes for lamps - no; they promised mattress protectors - no. Now my stuff is just sitting unprotected in storage. I called many times and they promised to come back and get what they missed but - no they didn't. I am very disappointed in their service and lack of follow-up. Do yourself a favor and call someone else to move you.
Description of Work: The guys who did the actual lifting were good enough. However, articles were left behind and I had to rent a U-Haul to finish because they wouldn't come back to finish the job. There were no pads, no boxes, no mattress boxes as were promised.

They were 3 hours late, with no call. Had 3 movers , who were paid by the hour, but spent a lot of time visiting or on personal phone calls. One week later , when they came to deliver our stuff, again they were 2 hours late, with no phone call. Then they told us they were unable to move all of our belongings in one trip, so they would be back the next day. They never showed up, and there is no good phone number that you could use to get ahold of anyone. I had to call them on the following day, and again, we had many items missing. They came back 3 days later, after many phone calls about missing items, and delivered more of our things that they had found. To date, 09/08/13, we still have many itms not returned, and now it seems like we have to fill out many papers to file a claim. This company , I believe, mishandles your items, and we also found that they are very difficult to deal with. I believe they have stolen the items that they cannot locate. Why else would they still be missing. Do not use this business to move your life's items. They will either steal them , lose them or break them.
