Trevor worked very hard and made sure to communicate to me any problems along the way. Overall, I couldn't have been more pleased.

Obviously we'll wait until the next heavy rain to be sure, but everything went very well. Jim was assigned to my account. He called ahead the day before, went over things with me, was waiting for me when I arrived home to get him started and approve the estimate. He called once to clarify something and then went about his business professionally, finished earlier than expected and it all looks great. I know it's tough dealing with any water issue, but I'm confident that if there is an issue, they'll be back out to make it good.

Trevor replaced a light fixture in my dining room. He also managed to get the glass dome off of the light on a ceiling fan in a guest room that had been stuck for a very long time which prohibited me from changing bulb. He called to confirm the appointment in advance and was extremely friendly and efficient when he did the work. He took the time to give me some literature and let me know about the other services offered by Handyman Matters. This will come in handy as I have many other projects around my house. I will definitely be using their services again and recommending them to others.

It was okay. He diagnosed it quickly, fixed it quickly, but it just took a long time to get the part.

The handyman became very upset and mouthy. He stated that he did not have time to give me a quote he was losing money each minute he had to work to get me the estimates. I told him that I had initially requested that they send someone who could give me an estimate on the ceiling at the 9 foot level and if the popcorn texture color did not match up with the rest of the ceiling, than he would have to paint the whole ceiling at the 30' foot level. He explained to me in detail all the time and work involved just to prep the area. I told him that he seem very knowledgeable and competent to do the job and that I wanted to go with him based on his ?stated? past experience and verbal SWAG estimates. I was willing to pay his rate! I told him that I just needed both quotes in writing. He shifted gears on me and decided he did not want to give me the estimate for the second job. It was like he was talking himself out of the job and he said he does want to do the job. So I asked him, "What just happened?" I thought you were the man for the job, and now you are becoming offensive to me and I then asked him to leave my home! This is Ridiculous! Every job is not cut and dry. This was a $3000 + bid with several other job opportunities and he lost it. I spoke with the owner about this and I really don't think this matters to them. The trends are apparent on the other reviews as well in Angie's list. I would not use any of them and I will not!

It was exactly what we wanted. My husband is EXTREMELY picky and was so impressed with Don's work and perfectionism, we will definitely be using him again. We were initially intimidated by the hourly charge, but Don worked very quickly, offered us a discount they currently had available, and it really turned out to be quite reasonable considering the amount of detailed work that was performed. I highly reccommend calling this company for any future Handyman needs. They were quick and were able to address your specific needs with a highly trained individual!! For all your woodworking need...ASK FOR DON!!

Everything went very smoothly and quickly - they didn't mess around ... got to it and got it done ! The whole experience from setting up things with Lisa in the office, the accuracy of the bid I was given, to the work that was done - I will def use these guys again!

We would consider using them in the future.

Jim showed up right on time and went right to work. There were a few issues to make the door fit, but he was able to fix them all with no problem. Door is in, looks fantastic and fits perfectly. I am very happy with the result and will definitely use them again.

I was pleased with them. They came out and gave me an estimate and they were ready to do the job. I thought it was a decent price for what they did. It did take them a while to contact me. I am going to give them a call to get something else done.

Although he didn't perform the actions i was hoping he would, the handyman gave me useful tips on how i can fix my projects.

Project went very well overall. Only snafu was my assumption that both toilets were standard rough in. Had to wait for a custom order 10" rough in toilet but they came out and installed it promptly the next day after I arrived. Project went a bit longer than we originally thought, again due to a unusual backsplash tile pattern in the kitchen. The end result was well worth the wait. Since work was time and material I would recommend getting signed time sheets if the duration of project is more than a few days with more than 1 worker. Tile work was very good in my opinion.

I was a little hesitant at first, since they charge on a per hour basis. Most of my previous experiences with this were negative. I talked to them over the phone ahead of time, and we agreed on the possible maximum amount it would be. We have other issues that need to be taken care of, but wanted to try them out first. We will be calling them again in the near future.

Overall it was a great job. Don arrived ontime, and immediately began work. He did all of the preliminary work and then we went and got the materials. He then worked all day until time to quit. He was not completely done so we set up to come back on Monday and complete the work. He cleaned up his messes as he worked, did not leave trash around the house. He did everything I asked and even a few projects I came up with as we went along. He was extremely personable and professional. Both he and I forgot one little piece of trin in the upstairs hallway. I called and asked if he had any leftover pieces of trim so I could try to do it myself and he showed up and put it in at no extra charge without a complaint. I was very impressed with his work and the company. We even got a 10% discount for being a Angies List customer. The work is per hour, and while he is there he will do all work you come up with. Great experience and would use them again, and will probably use them again.

He did a great job. He was very personal, and wanted us to get the best deal ever. He was very fast and efficient, very polite and always on time. He wanted us to get the best deal for our money. He is an extremely hard worker and even did extra stuff for us like help put in a light etc...

Outstanding. This is our first time with HandyMan Matters. First class all the way around. Curt was not only on time but early. He is professional and amiable. Curt explained everything each step of the work. Curt is meticulous about keeping the work area clean. All work was done as explained over the phone. Very efficient . I highly recommend HandyMan Matters.

Made appointment, on the day of my late afternoon appointment received a call from handyman saying the job he was currently working was running long and ask if he could come a couple of hours late which wasn't a problem. A no show. We connected the next day and reset the appointment and again a no show. A call to the office got results. The appointment was set for that day. The handyman came and did a great job. He was very apologetic regarding the missed appointments and spent extra time working on a troublesome doorbell issue. We also were given a discount for our troubles.

I was very pleased. He arrived on time. We discussed the challenges of installing such high fixtures (20' high). We worked out a plan. I went and rented a 14' ladder and he came back and installed the fixtures with my help. He knew what he was doing.

Me being the klutz that I am, fell through my attic and ended up putting a 2'x3' hole in my ceiling...lol. None of my friend's or family member's could reccommend a good handyman. I searched the internet, and decided to give Angieslist a chance. I decided to go with Handyman Matters, due to the many review's. I called, talked to Lisa, and she immediately told me about the company, and it's goal. She then explained to me how the company would bill me, if chosen. Needless to say I had a 9am appointment set up the next day.( Lisa was AWESOME!) The same day I got a phone call from Troy( The Handyman) confirming my appointment for 9am. We actually decided on 9:30 since he was coming from Lenexa. Troy was promptly at my door at 9:30. He came in and assessed the damage, and explained how he would go about repairing it. After giving Troy the okay, he went to the supply store to get the needed material's. Within the hour he was back, and ready to work. In 3 hrs. he had repaired the liner, patched the hole in the ceiling, taped and mudded the drywall with it's first skim coat. I made fun of him about how neat he was while working..borderline O.C.D. lol. Troy wrapped thing's up around 1pm. He had another bid to get to. After coming back from his bid, he sanded, and applied another coat of mud. All this, in day one.(He's GOOD) Since he had several stops to make the next day. We came to the agreement that he would call me when he was headed my way. I received a call from Troy letting me know he would be at my place within 30mins.. He got here and sanded, primed, and painted..all in an hour. ( Told you he was GOOD!) I couldn't be more happier with the finished product, and or the staff. I'm even happier that it all came under the estimated bid. I would highly reccommend Handyman Matters, and will definitely use Troy Hull again...Thanks

Honestly, I might be a little peeved b/c it seems to be getting harder and harder to actually get someone to do a job for you. This company never even answered our inquiry email. They are the second company to not return our call for a new shower in our guest bathroom. It might be a small job, but what these companies don't know is we were planning on remodeling our kitchen next year and refinishing our basement the next. They potentially lost thousands of dollars.

The guy that came was pleasant and investigated the leak. It turned out to be a low cost plumbing issue. The drywall ceiling below was going to be the bigger expense. It just so happens that the only way to view the plumbing or gain access to it was through where the damaged ceiling was. He suggested I put a low cost plastic door in the celing that would open any time I had future issues. I know this may not be the right choice for eveyone but it was for me. You don't notice it at all and not only did it save money but there is no doubt that in my older home it will come in handy. Great job! I do think that it might have been less money if I had delt directily with someone who works individually, but I was very happy with the results.
