Able Appliance Repair

We had two different problems with our dryer. They came out and fixed the problems and didn't charge us for the service call the second time. They were timely and efficient.

The service was prompt and the person doing the service gave me a 10% discount because I was an Angie's List member. I waws surprised when someone answered my phone call on Sunday: I just wanted to leave a message. Then, a serviceman called back and asked if we wanted him to look at the dryer on a Sunday . We told him we thought that Monday was soon enough. I ask the man doing the service how people clean out their dryer exhaust duct and he mention a leaf blower......it worked. I would use them again.

My dishwasher had a small pool of water standing in the bottom about 6 hours after a series of uses. I called Able for an appointment. About an hour before the appointment, the service man called to discuss what was wrong. From my description, he diagnosed the problem, took the model number of the dishwasher and ordered the appropriate part. He called me right back after ordering and indicated that the part would not be available until the next day at 9:30 a.m. We set another time on that next day to do the repair. He was prompt and the repair took about 20 minutes. The diswasher is running just great. I would highly recommend Able to anyone needing appliance repair. I will be calling them from now on.

The tech, John, arrived when he said he would. He was accompanied by a trainee receiving OJT. I explained the problem and John explained the possible causes. As John supervised, both he and the trainee (sorry I can't remember his name) went to work eliminating causes and isolating the cause of the malfunction, the adaptive defrost. They had the replacement part on the truck and had it installed in no time at all. They were professional, polite, knowledgeable and even cleaned up the work area. The refrig has worked fine since. I have used this company several times and have always been impressed with the integrity and professionalism of the employees. Hats off to the entire team. ABLE is the only appliance repair company I will use.

Mark (I think) came over the same day I called and knew right away what the problem was. He was up front about the repair cost, noting that it's one of the most costly repairs. It was still cheaper than a new fridge so I had him do the replacement. He was quick and he cleaned up the kitchen area after he was done. He was very nice and very tolerant of my two beagles who really wanted to help! :)

FAST! They arrived the same day I called for the estimate, and got the part two days later. They were polite and friendly, and called before arriving.

Everything went flawlessly! Once we decided to leave the dishwasher alone for now and focus only on the garbage disposal, things moved fast. Jim was the repairman and he was very pleasant/easy to work with. He didn't have the disposal we needed, so we both agreed he would get it the next day and then replace the old disposal with the new one. Jim was in our home less than an hour and was very courteous/friendly-which I appreciated since all the kids were home. I highly recommend Able Appliance and anticipate using their services again!

They were on time, very friendly, and honest and repaired my refrigerator promptly on the spot. John, the man who repaired it, came with one other employee who was equally friendly. They even gave me a discount. I had never heard of this company, but have already recommended them to several people. They offer 24 hour service, 7 days a week and service all makes and models. A fresh breath of air when it comes to the usual dealings with repair services. Will definitely use them from here on out on all of our repairs.

A dryer panel had broken inside the dryer. I called and the agent promptly scheduled an appointment for the same day. Rep was on-time, quickly resolved the problem temporarily and offered a long term solution. We decided that we ok with the short term solution. Very good experience.

The serviceman determined that we had a faulty compressor. He suggested trying the manufacturer even though the fridge is more than five years old. Surprisingly, the manufacturer will cover the replacement under warranty. He saved us a $600 plus parts! The call-out fee is extremely reasonable.

I was very impressed with them from the moment I called them at 8 am to the time the repair man left. No charge for the call out because no work was done is excellent. I will definitely call this company again for appliance repair and recommend them to anyone else.

The serviceman showed up on time and was very professional. He knew what the problem was right away and priced it out for me. I was told the part would have to be ordered and I would have to pay a deposit for that part (which I didn't like, but I do understand why). After paying the deposit I went on-line to see how much I could buy the part for and found that it was less than half of what I was getting charged. The part came in and the repairman did a great job but I am still trying to find out why I was charged so much for the part. I understand making a profit on purchased parts, but 120% profit on a part seems outrageous to me. Management is supposed to call me back and I'll report if we resolve this. This is my only complaint, otherwise they did a great job, and so far so good with my fridge.

The refrigerator door gaskets and stops were extremely warm to the touch which I thought was unusual. I rolled the frig out to check for problems (not that I would have known what to look for) hoping to find something obvious. That's when I noticed that a fairly good size fan was not opearting. Hoping to correct the problem, I gave the fan a nudge and it started to run. Hooray! That euphoria ended quickly when the fan stopped turning and would only operate again after another nudge. At a loss, I recalled that I had called Able Appliance on another repair item and quickly called them. It was almost 5 pm when I called and Vicki said she would have a service tech out the next morning. About 10:45 the next morning, Rick (service tech), called and said he would arrive at my house in 30-45 mins. And he arrived on time. Small world - Rick was the tech who handled another repair for me. Rick asked me to relate what I thought the problem was and, just as before, he zeroed in on the problem and one other problem waiting to happen, the starter device. He had the necessary parts in his van and quickly went about repairing the frig. As before, Rick did not mind that I watched over his shoulder trying to learn something about frig repairs and he explained everything he was doing. When he completed the repairs, Rick cleaned up the area so well that there was nothing for me to clean up. Much appreciated. There are no words adequate to express my appreciation for Rick. He is professional, knowledgeable, patient and a man of ethics. I would not hesitate to hand him the keys to my house if I could not be home when he did repair work for me. Rick embodies those qualities we look for and expect in our fellow man. Thank you, Rick and happy birthday, again.

This company was great. I called them and told them of the problem with my washing machine. He was so knowledgeable and prepared he brought the part with him, saving me another service trip. Two men arrived, 1 serviced my dishwasher while the other worked on my washer. They were very fast and explained everything they were doing. Very efficient, very professional.

The repairman, John, arrived just when they said he would (same day I called!) and immediately found that the relay switch was burned out and needed to be replaced. He replaced it, but noticed that the fan that was supposed to be cooling the fridge had a mouse in it--he removed it, but said it still wasn't pulling hot air out the way it should. He said I could try it for a few days, but that he would recommend getting it replaced soon. We agreed that he would come out the next day and replace it (he didn't have that part with him). He came out the next day just when he said he would and installed an upgraded motor that he said would perform better than what it had come with. It is running better now than it ever has.

I called them and they came out that day to see what was needed. They ordered the part and came out the next day to install it. A later time I called him about my stove and he was able to give me a diagnosis over the phone with no charge.

They scheduled me the same morning I called, but Mark needed to call and tell me he would be a little late. I appreciated the call and he arrived at the rescheduled time. He was courteous and professional.

John showed up the same day I called. He did not charge me for checking the range. He was very professional and pleasant and I would not hesitate to call Able again for any appliance I need fixed.

Called in the morning, and they were out by afternoon. Replaced fan motor, cleaned up the dust from under the refrigerator an finished within a half hour. The also gave advice on models of dishwashers they would recommend.

I had to still hold the valve up to keep the water high. He responded with good time, but his price was just fair. He was polite and I dont think he gave me the right answers or gave me the right part.

We originally called regarding our stove top burners not self-igniting. However, by the time the service man came 2 days later, they were working. He without any hesitation checked our oven and found that our oven igniter needed replaced for our oven. I was very pleased with this company as I called on a Thursday and they offered to send someone out the next day. I called 3 other companies and either they did not work on the brand of oven we have, or they were scheduling 1 week out. My only complaint was they told us someone would be out at or after 1200pm and instead we got a call at 930am stating someone was on their way. In the end though, it worked out better for us, but would have been nicer had they notified us earlier.

Doug came out to look at our Frigidaire refrigerator. He spent a great deal of time looking it over and talking it over with my husband. He admitted he wasn't familiar with the refrigerator and wasn't sure what the problem was. He did not charge us for a service call. I appreciated his honesty and time spent.

The washer has been filling with water between washings, and the drier shrieked like a banshee when we tried to use it. Rick came and fixed everything. Best of all, when I said I that the washer came to a screeching halt at the end of the spin cycle, rather than exploiting my ignorance for further repairs, he explained that the behavior was normal, but that the (very mild) screeching noise indicated a worn thingamajig (my word, not his) but that it still had years of service before it would need to be replaced.

It went pretty well. I was very pleased. The service call charge is only $10.00, which I think is waived if you have them do the work. Even if they didn't, I wouldn't mind paying that instead of the others that charge at least $50 just to get out to your house. We thought it was the heating coil but it was the terminal block that stopped working, which is a lot cheaper than a heating coil, and most definitely cheaper than buying a new one. He admitted that it took a little longer than he expected but it still works and we're very happy with his service and professionalism.

Very well. Everthing was explained thoroughly and repaired and haven't had a problem since the repair.
