Purchased a Samsung front loader set from NFM two years ago with an extended warranty. To our dismay our dryer stopped drying our clothes on Thursday. Called our warrant company on Friday, and they would not be able to get with us until the following Wednesday. We're both working full-time and have a child, we don't have time for a dryer to be down for that long of a time. Contacted Able Appliance, stated that they had one Samsung repair technician, but he could come out the next day sometime after 12pm. On Saturday, the technician, Kyle came out and assessed the issue, stated it needed a new part (something to do with the heater). Stated he did not have the part with him, and would need to leave to go meet another technician. ( a little disheartening to hear if you are the only Samsung technician then why would you not be prepared?) Anyways, on the way to meet the other technician, his own personal vehicle broke down. He stated he may be able to fix it and come back that same day. He finally called about 6pm that night and stated he wasn't coming. My husband wasted his entire day waiting. The technician called around 4pm on Sunday stating he could come right then and fix the dryer, so we were excited again. It took Kyle 30 min to fix the dryer. It was a painful experience to say the least, and it would seem it would be easier, but hey sometimes that's just your luck! We would use this company again the future. **UPDATE*** THE COMPANY CALLED US ON TUESDAY TO APOLOGIZE FOR THE SITUATION AS IT RARELY HAPPENS OFTEN. WE STATED WE UNDERSTOOD, AND THEY REFUNDED $25 BACK TO US FOR OUR INCONVIENCE! WE'VE NEVER HAD A COMPANY DO THIS BEFORE, IT IS APPARENT THAT ABLE APPLIANCE IS ALL ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WE WILL MOST CERTAINLY BE USING THEM IN THE FUTURE!!!! :)

Nice folks. I called on a Tuesday and scheduled repair work for the following Thursday. Repair guy (sorry, don't remember his name) called ahead to let me know he was on his way and then was at the house exactly when he said he would be. Took all of 20 seconds to diagnose and quote. He had the switch in his truck so the repair took all of about 15 minutes. Their pricing seems to be a little funky. Coupons here and there and discounts on service calls if the actual work is performed. Cost of the part was kind of high but my assumption is that they are just building the service call into the price of the part. No biggie. Having said all of that, the final price was more than satisfactory and the service was excellent. My only gripe was that I paid with a debit card. Instead of running thru a hand held or calling it in to an office staffer, he wrote the # and EXP date on his copy of the invoice. I'm not the paranoid type, but considering the transaction wasn't posted until 2 weeks later, they are leaving themselves wide open for some serious headaches if they aren't more diligent w/ payment info. But that can also be remedied by paying w/ cash or check!

UNBELIEVABLE. Called on a Monday afternoon, phone answered promptly, she took our information and gave us a time of 10-12 the next morning, at 10:30 the next morning the repairman showed up, fixed the problem (inoperative lid switch), and was gone with check in hand by 11:00 AM. The part sells for as little as $6 on Amazon, $60 from Sears--who cares? The price included the service call, his work, and the piece. We now have a functioning washer within 24 hours of its laying down, and per another review for this company, we're going to pass on any future extended-service contracts and go with Able. Let me repeat: unbelievable. Best Angie's List service experience EVER.

Everything went very well with Able. They even provided me with a 10.00 discount for telling my story. Basically we had an extended warranty with NFM on our samsung dryer. The thermistor went out, and it was going to take another company two weeks to visit the house to diagnose the problem. This was unacceptable in my opinion. We have 3 kids and need our dryer. After explaining this to the insurance company that contracts with the repair company over the course of 48 hours, I gave up and called NFM, and they gave me my money back. I called able and they fixed it in 48 hours. Long story short, don't buy the extended warranties on this stuff, they aren't worth it. Just call able and have them fix it. It will save you time, money, and restore your faith in good customer service. I will pay a premium for good service.
Description of Work: They scheduled a visit the next day to evaluate the problem with my dryer. Charlie arrived at my house on time, and was very efficient in diagnosing the problem and letting me know what we needed to do. He called to check on how long for the part to come in, and then scheduled the time to come back at the time he was at the house. My dryer was fixed the next day when Charlie returned. They offered me a discount, and were a pleasure to work with over the phone.

I called them and asked if they serviced Maytag dishwashers. The person said they did. I gave her my name, address, and phone number.I specifically told her I lived in North Kansas City. I told her the nature of the problem with the dishwasher. She then put me on hold. When she returned she told me they could not perform the service because they did not have a technician who worked north of the river or something like that. After that I simply gave up. Question: Their ad on your website lists clay county as one of their service areas. I live in clay county. Why would she take all my information up front if if they could not do the work? Totally unprofessional.

The phone was not answered when I called around 8pm, but my message was returned the next morning before 8am. The technician arrived after 10pm, which was hours later than the window given. However, he worked quickly, showed me the problem, and completed the job within 45 minutes. I had been told on the phone to leave the fridge running, which I was happy to do since my freezer was still working. I was then charged for manual defrosting in addition to the minimum labor charge. I did not expect this, but it was certainly less than the cost of the food I would have lost if I had defrosted my freezer. The service call was free with repair ($9.99 if no repair), minimum labor charge, part, and defrost came to $184 before discount for Angie's List members. I was also informed that the minimum labor charge also carries over to cover labor on any additional call for that appliance (even if it is a different problem) within 30 days. I called the next day to check the price with the company, the owner answered the phone and was very professional. She explained the costs and sent me a small rebate in the mail for the late arrival and taking the time to address concerns with her. Much better than the home warranty experiences Ii have had so far with another company.

When first technician visited and found that we had a high-eff top loading washer, another technician was sent next day. After finding lose pulley and reinstalled belt, machine apparently repaired. After a couple loads we found that spin cycle not working. Called Able again and the technician wanted to be prepared with correct parts before revisiting. Machine was repaired and not charged for the second visit. Excellent service.

I made 2 phone calls. The first lady I talked to said they don't do warranty work. Period. I called back to see what the problem was, thinking maybe they didn't want to wait for the manufacturer to cut a check. I was going to offer to pay them up front and then handle getting reimbursed from the manufacturer, but they said they wouldn't touch it. This may not make the company evil, but it also failed to make the customer satisfied.
Description of Work: Refused to repair my cooktop because it is new. I bought it from Costco on-line, had it installed by a contractor who reported that it has an electrical problem. Emailing with the manufacturer, they think it is an internal wire that has come loose, and they would pay to have a local technician fix it. Able Appliances refused to help.

John was on time and very professional. He took apart the dryer and found the problem immediately. He explained at this point that the $9.95 Angie's coupon would be applied to any parts. I was a little confused with this because I thought it would apply towards the service call and work. He took apart the dryer and luckily it was a wire and nothing needed to be replaced. He had to realign the drum so it work properly. He was here about an hour and the dryer is working like a charm. $108 an hour seems a little steep but I haven't had anything repaired in years, so that might be the going rate. I would recommend them to others.

In the evening of June 24th the spin cycle on our washing machine stopped working. After being told by the service department from who sold us the washer that it would take 3 days to get an appointment I called Able at 6:45 and they told me someone could come out the next day after 12. I received a call from Charlie at around 11:50 the next morning and he was here 15 minutes later. He immediately diagnosed the problem. He gave me a price quote to replace the lid switch and after I consented he replaced the switch and had the washer working again in less than 15 minutes. Charlie was professional and courteous. It could not have gone more smoothly. My only gripe was when I called the dispatcher I believe she just told me it would be after 12 instead of giving me a window of time. Ultimately he was there right at 12 so it was fine but I cleared my entire afternoon in anticipation that I might be there for a while. It quite possibly could have been a misunderstanding on my part. It would have been worth the wait anyway!

Jim arrived as promised and determined the problem. Looked up cost of new motor. We gave him the go ahead and provided a credit card to cover cost of replacement. Able Appliance Repair has a great feature on their website to send in a request via e-mail. I sent an e-mail and 1:30 am in the morning and received a prompt phone call the next morning. Allan arrived within the 3 hour specified time frame and called right before he arrived. He was very professional and knowledgeable and showed me the piece that was broken. He fixed it within about 15 minutes. Fantastic service. I could not be happier with the repair. He was also nice enough to take a look at my washer. I will definitely call Able Appliance in the future and recommend them to everyone.
