Able Appliance Repair

I scheduled a 3pm appointment three days in advance and left work early to be home for the technician. At exactly 3pm he called to tell me that they don't service this 3-year-old Whirlpool Cabrio washer. This was a great inconvenience because 1) my washer won't be fixed today 2) I have to find someone else to repair it and 3) I had to leave work 3 hours early to keep the appointment.

I called Able because they offered the quickest response time. Their technician arrived when promised and called ahead. He quickly diagnosed our problem, ordered the replacement part and returned the next day to install the part and complete the repair. The technician was friendly, communicative and cleaned up thoroughly. There were no hidden or unexpected charges. Based on our experience, I would recommend Able to anyone who needs a repair without reservation.

The first time I called them was because my washing machine (purchased in 1995) stopped mid wash on Thanksgiving night, with a load of wash still in it and full of water. I looked them up on Angie's List and called them the next morning. They sent someone within a couple hours. It took him about five minutes to figure out the problem, but unfortunately, my washer was so old, the part waas no longer available, which meant he couldn't fix it. He did however manage to get it to run long enough to empty the water. I was only charged $10 for a service call! I was shocked. Naturally, the next time an appliance quit working, I thought of them. This time it was the ice maker in my office. I told my boss about them and he okayed me contacting them to come take a look. Same as above - I called, they came out the very next morning. A few minutes later, he told me that the icemaker would have to be replaced; he didn't have the part in his truck, but was out the very next day with the part and fixed our fridge. Cannot remember exact cost but it was about $250 including parts and labor (my boss had already checked on the cost of the ice maker before I called them because his home one was doing the same thing, so we know we were not overcharged for the part, which was over $200, so labor was very reasonable too. Different repairmen at both visits and both were very professional, prompt, and knew their stuff. I highly recommend this company and will use them again soon I am sure, since my refrigerator was also purchased in 1995.

Our refrigerator stopped cooling on Christmas Eve, while numerous preparations were underway for a large family gathering the following day, i.e. the need for refrigeration capacity was at maximum level, i.e. this couldn't have happened at worse time! I tried resetting the temperature controls, and then waited until morning for further assessment. By morning the temperature had risen significantly, so we were definitely in 'Crisis Mode' regarding the food items being properly chilled for serving by 1:00pm on Christmas Day. Due to the holiday, you couldn't even purchase a bag of ice, but fortunately, since it had snowed a couple of days earlier, I was able to pack snow into several large coolers, and made due with that for cooling the food items. I called Able Appliance Repair around 9:30am on December 26, and they indicated they could have someone out by noon, and that Justin would be calling prior to heading our way. I received a call from Justin within the next 30-minutes, and he was at our house within an hour of my initial call. To be honest, I was rather 'stunned' at just how quickly they were responding to my situation. Considering that I got two motherboards on the refrigerator replaced, along with the labor to diagnose, travel to obtain parts, then install and test, the overall cost of $521.19 was not unreasonable in the least. Of course, Justin's advice regarding a surge protector for the appliance outlet was given freely, but is especially valuable, due to the 'High Tech' nature of modern appliances. They have all become more like 'computers', and less like appliances! Justin was the consummate professional, and had the problem diagnosed, replacement parts ordered, obtained, and installed by noon that same day - simply 'unbelievable'!

They arrived on time and went right to work. They were very professional and polite. The fixed the issue in less than one hour cleaned up and left. We were pleased with the service and price. We would use them again. Highly recommend.

They were really great. Their kids wedding was even the next day.

Apparently, my experience with Able Applaince was a fluke. Things went wrong from the beginning- repairman ran late, wrong part was ordered, correct part was unavailable- it was very aggravating. I was determined to never use them again, but then the owner of the company called me and wanted to make things right. She really believes in her company and personal customer service. After speaking to her, I re-read the glowing reviews on Angie's list and I realized that my experience was not the norm. I thought about how, even though some things went wrong, the repairman was very professional and courteous. We are only human and everyone makes mistakes. He clearly knew what he was doing as far as the repair. Once the right part arrived, he fixed the washer in no time and it has worked well since. The thing that makes a company stand out to me is not so much what they do when everything goes right, but how they handle it when the customer is not happy. The owner went above and beyond to make things right. I can honestly say I would use this company again

Justin squeezed us into his busy schedule and diagnosed the machine on a Monday evening and repaired it on a Thursday evening. Both visits took less than 30 minutes each. He knew exactly what the problem was and now the machine is running great. We would recommend Able Appliance Repair and will use them in the future if necessary.

Gentleman called early, gave me time estimate that worked with the emergency errand I had to run, got the model number so he had the part on the truck, came in looked at it. replaced it. tested it. and was gone. quick efficient, and friendly. Did not get freaked out when I answered the door with my pet rat sitting on my shoulder because i was working on cleaning his cage. I was trying to get done before he got there. Hooray for clean plates!

Found and fixed quickly a water leak.

Jason was prompt, courteous. He said he was fairly sure what the problem was after he was told the description of what was going on with my 2007 Whirlpool duet washer. He looked over my washer, etc for about 10 min and said, "yes, it was what I expected. The good news is that I have the part on the truck and it is easily fixed. The bad news is that the part is very expensive." I agreed to everything as Able appliance got so many rave reviews on Angie's list and I had no reason to doubt the nice young man. He had it fixed in about 5 to 10 min and was on his way.My total bill with the Angie's list discount was $306.19. I didn't think much more about it until my daughter in Wichita had the same problem just recently, Her bill was alot less. My son in law and I looked up how much the part was and it ran from $35 to $49. They even had a you tube video of how easy it is to change it. Again, the young man was very knowledgeable, but to tell me that the cost of the part was very expensive and the bill only gives the part # and the total bill. There was no break down of work and parts costs...just the total.I should have been suspicious of this, but due to the Angie's list rave reviews, I really thought he was being honest. Just showed me that you need to research, but I needed my washer badly. PLEASE..ask for them to itemize your bill and if you have access to a computer, just type in the part and #. Or have them tell you what part cost and look up part while they're fixing!!

Our freezer was icing up and I was afraid we'd need a new grommet. Our service provider suggested a home repair that was easily done with petroleum jelly and he didn't charge us. Shortly after he left, the ice maker tubing started to leak, probably caused by the tugging on the refrigerator/freezer. He turned around and came back immediately--at no charge. Definitely will use again.

He knew what was wrong with the refrigerator in 5 minutes. He ordered the part and came back and fixed it in 5 minutes. Yesterday he came back and replaced the drain pump in my dishwasher. He had the part in his truck. He is knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Great job at a fair price!

Mark, the technician representing Able Appliance Kansas City Mo. came to our house to repair our washing machine. The company didn't charge us a "weekend service rate" even though they did the work on the same day we called them-which was a Saturday. They said their "weekend rate" was the same as their "weekday rate". They also give a senior citizen discount! They beat the other companies we had checked with "hands down". The other companies aren't in Able Appliance's league. We'll not reveal who they are so as not to embarrass them. Mark, the Able Appliance technician, showed up in the "time frame" we were given. He gave a warm greeting with a smile. He discussed with me, after checking, what needed to be done to fix our washing machine. He also quoted a very reasonable price to fix it. In a short time our washer was working fine, Mark even took a couple minutes to "pop out" a dent that was in the top of our old dryer-free of charge! Mark is very knowledgeable about his job and his personality was positive and upbeat the whole time he was here. He's a great technician! We'll definitely be calling Able Appliance Kansas City Mo. again for any appliance repair in the future!

Scheduling was quick. Window for arrival was half day. My window was afternoon. The service rep arrived around 5 PM for initial assessment. Part was ordered on Tuesday and was installed the following Tuesday. It would have been quicker, but I requested the specific day. Would definitely recommend to others.

Charlie was super courteous, clean cut, and fixed our issues super fast! I so appreciate their same day response ! I will use them again next time ANYTHING breaks and will recommend them over and over! I also will ask for Charlie personally. Thank you Able!

Called at 8:30 in the morning and my oven was repaired by 1:00 PM. Great service, will use again in the future.

Our washing machine stopped agitating and was leaking out the back. We weren't sure we could fix it ourselves, so we searched for and found Able Appliance. I filled out the customer contact form on their website and was contacted early the next morning to set up the appointment for the repairman to evaluate our washing machine. He contacted us the night before to confirm and then again when he was on his way to our house. He was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable. He even parked on the street so he wouldn't block our driveway. We will definitely use them again if we have a need of their services.

This is our second time using Able and we received the same great service. John was prompt and very professional. Excellent service. They are my go to company for appliance repair.

I called on Monday for repair work. The technician arrived Tuesday after placing the "I am on my way call" requested. He showed up on time, diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed by applicance within an hour. My technician was Justin. He was professional, on time and completed the work quickly - no mess to clean up.

I called the company in the early afternoon. Charley showed up about 2:45 (this is already starting out good with that kind of response). The refrigerator was making a creaking sound from the freezer area. Charley very quickly found the problem to be ice that would not dislodge from the ice maker. He removed the ice and the problem was solved. None of that is remarkable. But here is what IS remarkable....he charged us the $9.95 service call ONLY! How long, if ever, has it been since someone drove to your home and provided service for less than $10? I'm thrilled! Also, Charlie was a very professional young man. Highly recommend.

It went fine. As I noted above I was not sure of what was causing the problem but I was getting puddles of water in front of my refrigerator (it is a bottom freezer) off and on. The gentlemen said that he had seen the same problem in the past and was sure it was that the part that is supposed to stop the defrosting action wasn't working right and so too much water collected at the bottom of my freezer and leaked out. He had to take off the door to the freezer and remove the back inside of the unit to get to the part. He replaced it taking about one and a half hours. Got it put back together and I haven't had any trouble since.

He was especially patient with all my questions. I couldn't believe an appliance this costly would break so early, but it did. We took his advice on buying a new one and got the brand he suggested. Nice to work with a smaller name company. I felt like he gave us his honest opinion. The company was recommended by a friend, who found them on Angie's, then they had to call them again for a different appliance and were equally satisfied. THANKS.

I was very impressed with the service and friendliness of the company! They were very prompt and the serviceman was very through in his explanation of the problem with my refrigerator. Unfortunately, my refrigerator was going to cost almost as much to fix as to buy a new one so I did not have them do any work. The price they quoted though was very reasonable. I will defiantly use them again!
