Able Appliance Repair

Very responsive. Came out quickly to diagnose the problem. He immediately knew what was wrong and ordered the part. When the part came in, he came back out, repaired it in 15 minutes and helped me move the washing machine back in place and hooked it up. I was very pleased with his competency, friendliness, professionalism and the price of the service.

Initially Jake replaced ice maker and water filter and found way to repair door without having to replace the whole door. A special order was placed for the door. Unfortunately, the ice maker did not make ice and Jake returned promptly the next day with help. They both determined that the ice maker was defective and a new one ordered. g Next, I had problems with my washer as the defective pump code was displayed on my washer. There was a miscommunication on the date but Jake called and apologized about the error and arrived on the date set up. A new pump replaced and washer worked for 3 washes and then the pump code showed up again. A little history of this washer is that it is a front load and little over 10 yrs old. I called and Jake returned the and found a large amount of sediment that was blocking pump. After clearing and running washer thru a few cycles the pump did a great job. A few days later the washer started acting up, it was draining but it would spin with loud knocking sounding and during wash when it was normally quiet it was making horrible loud noises. I decided the washer needed to be retired. I will continue to use Able as Jake is a great representative for the company. He listens and explains things in a way that I can understand everything. He spends as much time as needed which makes me feel like this job is the most important thing for him at this time.

They did a good job. They were in and out in 10 minutes, and it has been working ever since.

The tech showed up EARLY (woohoo!) and was in and out in 20 minutes, tops. He very quickly identified the problem with my dryer, gave me an estimate and asked me if I wanted to go ahead with the repair. It was pricey, but that's mostly because of the part. My only complaint is that the word had not made it from the scheduler to him that I'd gotten the reference from Angie's List, so I nearly lost out on my $10 discount. We caught that, though, so no problem in the end.

It was good. They were on time. We have not had any issues since then.

They did a good job. The repairman had to go get parts and it took him about two hours to complete the repair.

It went great. Even though I was disappointed that I had to replace the ice maker, Jake was very good at explaining why and gave us the best price he could.

Discovered at 10 pm on 9/16 that refrigerator was not working (temperature high both freezer and refrigerator). Checked Angieslist on line and found that Able Appliance Repair was rated highly. Checked Able's website and found that they had 24hr answering service. I called about 11:30 pm and was very surprised to get a real person and to get a service called scheduled for after noon the next day. At 7:30 on 9/17 I received a call from Able saying that they had a cancellation and would be there between 9-12 noon. Prior to the service call, I tried to shut down the unit but it would not by normal means, so I switched off the circuit breaker. After about 10 minutes I turned the breaker back on. By the time the service man arrived the unit was working and the temperature in both the refrigerator and freezer was approaching set point. With the unit now working properly, the service man was not able to find anything wrong so no repairs were made. After the unit reached set point in the afternoon of 9/17, we reloaded the the unit. At 10 pm the unit was still working with the temperatures gradually moving toward set point. At about 7 am on 9/18, we found that the unit was not at temperature set points and higher in temperature than the previous night. I called Able to set up another service call. They scheduled a service call for that afternoon. In the mean time I shut off the breaker again for about 10 minutes. When the service man Mark arrived, the unit was again working and the temperatures approaching set point. After a review of the facts, Mark said that there might be a bad starter on the compressor. He checked it out and found it hot (a sign that it was bad) and replaced it. The refrigerator has now been working perfectly for 12 days. Thanks to Able for prompt for the prompt service calls. Thanks to Mark for his trouble shooting skills.

Our freezer is acting up and we were concerned it would go bad and we would lose all our food. We called and Rick came out the next day. It could've been the same day but we were unable to make our schedule work with that. Turns out there was some ice clogging the drain and he advised what we needed to do to fix that. In addition, while this still working, our fan is going bad and making humming noises. It's cost prohibitive on a 10 year old freezer to replace the fan. We learned of the life expectancy of our appliance and had all the info to make an informed decision. You guys have won a customer for life with this kind of service and integrity.

I called Able Appliance about 9 am, and the receptionist had the technician contact me within 30 minutes. He (Alan) was at my door by 11 am. After checking the ice-maker, he determined it could not be repaired. He did not have the right model on his truck and said he would be back the following morning before noon to install a new unit. About 2 hours later he called and said he had an opening and could come by to install the ice-maker he had picked up, which was fine with me. Alan was there shortly afterward and completed the work quickly. He was very friendly, yet professional, and I am completely satisfied with the service.

I contacted Able Appliance and was called back with 10 minutes. Service was set up for the following morning, and repair was made in less than 30 minutes.

One person came to the work, it took about 15 minutes, and he arrived on time. Area was left clean. I would recommend them to friends and friendly.

It went pretty well. There was some confusion at first, but I spoke with the owner who discussed everything with me and he was very nice. They came out and it was a minor repair. They were personable and on time. I would use them again.

he came out about 2 o'clock and checked my ice maker and showed me it was real bad so he replaced it with a new one. he was real professional and very friendly and i was pleased with the service.

Only 9.95 service call. He showed us what problem was. Told us how to fix it. Would have been 130 otherwise. RICK was very helpful. Problem fixed!

I called early afternoon to see if someone could come out and fix our refrigerator that day. Within just a few hours, Jake was at our house, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part from St. Louis and was back the next morning to replace the fan. Our refrigerator was up and running and we were able to save all the contents of the freezer because of his quick response. We were impressed with Jake and will certainly call Able Appliance when another problem arises. I would gladly recommend them.

A repairman came out to our home and looked at the air conditioner. He said, it had no gas in the it and would need to purchase a new air conditioner, so he was unable to repair it.

The company was great, but unfortunately the technician they sent was not able to work on the particular model of appliance (refrigerator) I have. The technician personally called and asked the office to find someone else that could work on it. The office called almost immediately and informed me that they did not have anyone in their company that could work on it. Although they could not fix my problem, I was impressed by their professionalism and cordial approach to everything. I applaud their effort to try to find a solution to the problem and I definitely appreciated the technician not trying to do something he could not do.

I made the unfortunate error of washing a rug in my 2-yo front-load whirlpool washing machine, and the backing completely disintegrated, creating a big mess and a broken washer. I left a message on Angie's List on Saturday, and Vicki called literally within minutes of my hitting the 'send' button. I told her that Monday would be a good day for a repair, since I was working from home that day, and she was able to accommodate that request. Very responsive! JB quickly diagnosed the situation after seeing that water was not draining properly from the machine, so a new pump was necessary. He had the pump in his truck and repaired the machine to 'like new' in no time at all -- plus, he was a very nice guy! He wisely recommended that I make a trip to the laundromat for future washing of old rugs.... point well taken! I am very pleased with your service and will definitely be calling again with future repair work. Thank you!

Rick took a look at the dryer and found that the control board was defective. He quoted us a price for replacement of the board but while he was doing so he also noticed that the motor had an issue. Rick provided us with a quote for replacing the motor and the control board but recommended that we shop around for a new dryer due to the high cost of replacement parts. I very much appreciate Rick's honesty. We will definitely be using Able's services in the future should we need further appliance repairs.

I called at 9am on a Sunday, the lady on the phone told us they could be there by noon. She called at 10:45 to let us know Rob was on the way. Rob came about 11:00 and diagnosed and fixed the problem by 12:45. He was very polite and I'm pleased to have such quick service and a working freezer!

Called before he showed and quickly evaluated the problem with the bottom freezer of my fridge. He quickly pointed out that the problem was a misaligned rack and told me to defrost a little and readjust the rack. I paid him the $9.95 service call and he went to his next job. I fixed the problem in ten minutes and everything is working as it should. This guy could have ripped me off and charged me a lot more, and I would have paid any reasonable amount he suggested. But he did not and now I will always call this company and tell my friends to do the same.

First technician diagnosed the problem as a bad compressor and $750 to repair. We took a few days to shop refrigerators and decided to have ours repaired rather than buy a new one. The second technician, Doug, arrived and installed the new compressor only to find out the system still did not work properly. After further analysis, Doug learned of a larger issue; a hole developed in the copper tubing which allowed the freon to escape and then caused water to be sucked into the cooling system. Thus, causing the compressor to burn out. He had only seen this once before in 23 years. The job became much larger than just replacing the compressor. Doug made several visits to our home the next 2-3 weeks to rid the refrigerator cooling system of water. I think this was frustrating for both of us but Doug was professional and diligent and fixed it. It did take a few weeks, but Doug told me it would and was up front with me the entire time. To date, the refrigerator is working. All this was done for the original cost of $750.

I called about our secondary refrigerator not cooling, they were able to come out the following morning. Rick was our service technician, he was very professional and answered all of our questions. We will use Able Appliance in the future and also refer them to our family and friends.
