Able Appliance Repair

I've found a new appliance repair company. Within twelve hours, the service call was made and the repair completed. I have a KitchenAid Ensemble Dryer, and the REPAIR PERSON HAD THE PARTS WITH HIM! How often does that happen? This is the first time. The service was prompt, quick response to emails, and the cost was reasonable. The last repair on the dryer I went through KitchenAid. The repair took over a week because they didn't have the repair part and had to order it. Not with Able Appliance Repair. The technician, Rob, was professional and courteous. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Believe it or not, the service call was made on a Sunday. These guys are fabulous. I'll use again and again!!

Service was fabulous. I called at 9:24am and my machine was fixed by 10:45 the same morning. Troy was professional, kind, quick and informative. Up front with cost of services, very thorough with review of machine and identifying any possible issues/causes. Additionally, provided good insight in the best "tips of use" to keep the machine running well for years to come. Would absolutely recommend to friends and will use in the future when other appliance issues arise. Thank you!

Able was called on a Thursday morning and Rick was there that afternoon. He diagnosed the problem and would have to order the part. He would return about noon on the following Monday to replace auger motor. He was on time Monday with a helper, Tim, and replaced the motor. Has been working properly since.

Had a dishwasher that stopped working and was leaking. Josh from Able Appliance came out the day after we called for an appointment. He tried to run the dishwasher and it briefly turned on before it stopped and started leaking. He replaced a broken clamp that was causing the leak and said that the motor/pump might have to be replaced as well but it was possible that it only stopped running because it was getting wet from the leak. He told us to let it dry out for 24 hours and try it to see if that was the case. He only charged us $9.95 because he couldn't guarantee at that time that it was completely repaired until the motor dried out even though he was there for almost 2 hours working on it. The next day we ran it and everything worked perfectly and has been running fine ever since. We appreciate his work and honesty and will definitely use them anytime we need repairs.

The serviceman called ahead and arrived on time. It took him literally 2 minutes to figure out what the issue was with my water dispenser. He advised that there was nothing wrong with the pump or the electronics and noted that there was a known defect/design issue with the fridge I have. The water line runs through the freezer door and is not insulated well enough, the line has been known to freeze on this model. He recommended thawing the line and was extremely confident in success by doing that. He charged for a service call and exited. I went about thawing the line with a hair dryer (heating the inside of the door evenly while leaving the door open). 30 minutes later the water worked like a charm!

They were timely and my dryer has worked since.

The technician was very nice. Didn't take him long to get it going, but he did tell me he did not know how long it would last because the drum was warped and that is what caused the bearing to go bad in the first place. We both hoped I could get several more months use out of it. The next afternoon I used it and it started making the noise again. I thought maybe it was just settling in, but the next day it really made noise. I was kind of upset because I had spent almost $200 and it didn't work, but when I talked to him on the phone he said it was not fixable and they would sent back the money except for the cost of the service call. Later the owner called to verify and I got the check back in a couple of days. I was impressed and would definitely use them again. They also helped me decide on which brand of new dryer to get and I am very pleased with that too.

The guy was prompt, he knew what he was doing, and he went to work. He didn't sit around and chit chat.

Our GE oven stopped working Christmas Eve night. (Actually, it was working too well. It wouldn't shut off and the temp just kept rising!) We called Able's the day after Christmas after reading the reviews on Angie's List and they scheduled an appointment for the following Monday. Doug <no last name> came out first thing in the morning and it took him about 2 minutes to diagnose the problem. (Lesson to be learned....don't line the bottom of the oven with aluminum foil. You can short out the element and cause the element to "run" constantly at half power!) He called a couple of places to locate the part and came back by later in the afternoon to finish the repair!! Well done, Doug!! Thank you!!!

Honest appraisal. Not worth repairing.

Rick and his apprentice showed up to fix our dryer that had quit heating. He diagnosed the problem and found that a previous tech had by passed our safety switch. I had a fire waiting to happen all this time. He repaired that and fixed the heating element as well. Rick was very good at explaining what he was doing and giving me estimates along the way. The price was very fair. We also have our dryer vented inside the garage, out of necessity, and was using a stocking to catch the lint. Rick explained this was bad to do and could cause the dryer to overwork. He suggested a lint trap that I went out and purchased later that day for minimal cost. The lint trap allows the dryer to breath. This could save me money on down the road by reducing the work and stress on the heating element and not creating a need for another replacement of this part. The second thing he did was replace our broken icemaker. Again he explained what had happen and the way icemakers work. When it went out the icemaker was leaking and Rick explained why that happened. It appears at the time, we were unlucky and the thing stopped at the wrong phase and was overfilling. We had gone a couple years without the icemaker so it was exciting to get that back. The price for this repair was just the cost of the parts since he was already here. Rick knew what he was doing and explained things very well to me. I learned something that day and will be a better homeowner because of it. Excellent job!

I found this company on Angie's List and it looked like we would be in their service area. I left a message on the day after Thanksgiving. They promptly called me back but thought we lived outside of their area of service. They gave me two other companies to contact for service. They were helpful even though they were not going to be doing the work.

Came the day after we called. Others quoted us a week. Very courteous and prompt.

Tech was in time, and diagnosed the issue very quick. He ordered the part and replaced it a few days later. Good company, I will use them again.

Great!!!!!! Really great!!!! The responded on time and discovered it wasn't a appliance problem it was a drain issue with the main line to the house and advised us that a plumber was needed not a appliance repair for a leaking washing machine. With the special I got through Angie;s list for a free service call there was no charge. I was impressed with the integrity the service tech gave us for not charing for services not needed. I would use them again and plan to.

Fantastic service- We were getting ready to leave and they move schedules around to accommodate, having a tech here by 10a Monday morning after scheduling over the weekend. The tech wasn't able to help us- the dryer needed a new motor, the ice maker one of two parts (both expensive, so we chose not to have work done). Without Able's tech, as well as his honesty, we wouldn't have been able to make the timely decisions we needed to make. We will definitely use again!

Although the top burners and the broiler of the stove worked, the oven would not light. We first called the local GE service office at mid-morning and they could not schedule a repair for two days. We called Able, which we have used in the past for appliance repairs, and they said they would have someone here in the afternoon. Although it was evening before the repairman arrived, the repair itself was handled quickly and efficiently, and the baking of Christmas cookies was back on schedule.

We've used them before to fix the refrigerator. They came out within an hour. He knew exactly what it was and it back up and running quickly. He knows what he's doing. They're prompt and professional. I definitely recommend them. Their price is reasonable and good.

Jeremy was the planned repair specialist who called us prior to arriving. He asked several very helpful questions that helped us compare the anticipated repair costs to purchasing a new unit. Coincidentally he owns the same brand and his honesty was refreshing and so very much valued. I want everyone to know this company seems to regard ethics over profit and I will encourage my friends to contact them for appliance servicing. Rare find in this world!

This was the second time I used Able after originally finding them on Angie's List. Both were superior experiences. Technician arrived within scheduled time frame after calling ahead. Accurately diagnosed problem on first visit. Returned next day with all required parts and performed repair rapidly, then performed thorough check of appliance finding to ensure there were no other problems. This is getting to be an older appliance (original purchase approx 2004), but tech advised us to keep it as it was a good model with fewer moving parts than more recent equipment. Also discussed other appliances in home and received advice I knew I could trust. The technician was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable. Unlike other appliance companies with whom I have dealt, it was clear his only motivation was providing superior service, which we received, and at a perfectly fair price.

The repairman was punctual and thorough and checked out all the possible causes for the malfunction. His persistence led him to a relatively simple but difficult to find solution. He was was pleasant throughout the entire process. He could easily have given up after finding that the control panel was not responsive and done an expensive and probably unnecessary repair. We appreciated his honest and professional work.
