Able Appliance Repair

They did a very good job. Tim, our technician, was very efficient and professional. He went the extra mile by going out of his way to get our ice maker to ensure that we would have it two days earlier than we would have otherwise! I wish the office schedulers had been able to give us a smaller window of arrival time, but in the end everything worked out well.

The tech, Rick, called in advance, was prompt and on time. He did a thorough investigation of the problem and because of his expertise found the real problem with my dryer and fixed it quickly. I had used another service vendor in the past, but am now going to be a loyal Able Appliance customer!!

Jake quickly diagnosed the cause of a leak in a Maytag refrigerator. He had the necessary parts in his vehicle and was able to replace the defective ones quickly. He called to say he was on his way, and called a second time to alert me to a short delay. He was very courteous, professional, and capable.

They replaced the pump in our front load washer but that did not work so they did not charge us. They discovered that the board needed replacing but the part is no longer available. So they were unable to repair it. They charged us nothing for the service call, their time or the pump. Gave us valuable information including letting us know that our electrical outlet needed to be replaced.

Very punctual and helpful. They suggested replacing the breaker myself to reduce cost but went ahead and had them do it to save us time.

Our washing machine failed on us overnight and caused quite a bit of damage to our home. I found Able Appliance Repair on Angie's list, called them in the morning, and their technician, Charlie, was at our house to diagnose the problem that afternoon. Two days later, he was back with the appropriate factory parts to fix our 10-year old machine. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt. I would not hesitate to use this company again.

John and Josh are wonderful. John has kept our 25+ yr old HVAC unit going for the past 7 YEARS. This year...it was finally done. He tried for 2 weeks to keep it going and then had Josh come look just to make sure he didn't miss something. They both decided that it was time to say goodbye to the old unit. They furnace may have made it through the winter but it was best to replace it all at once. I could not be happier with this company. They are unbelievably professional and only fix what needs to be fixed. They do what they say they will do and I have and will continue to recommend them to my friends and family.

Rob came and fixed our Maytag dryer within a pretty fast time frame. It was not easy to get the dryer front off in a confined space. He had the part with him.. fixed it immediately and the job was done that afternoon. We were pleased with the repair call.

Technician diagnosed the issue with our refrigerator not producing ice. He was able to determine that the problem was a bad water valve and not the ice maker itself. He replaced the water valve on the back of the refrigerator. He was very efficient, did a good job.

Initially found a problem but not the problem that was related to not being able to dispense water. Changed another part also not related to the dispensing of water. tried to repair circuit board did not work. Ordered another circuit board, did sell to me at cost, replaced then ice and water did dispense. I felt they could not find the problem on the first trip, thus, too many trips trying to fix the problem. It did not add to the labor costs but did add to the part costs. If I had the chance to do over would have made a different financial decision. Very polite and certainly tried to do their best but I felt could have been solved much faster and less costly.

It was a two trip project because a part needed to be ordered for the washing machine. John was great. Very informative and helpful. He was knowledgeable and skilled at resolving the issues I had. He even took the time to look at and fix the icemaker in my refrigerator while they were here for the washing machine service call-I really appreciated that. They were quick to respond to my online service request and scheduled to meet my needs. Washing machine working great.

I submitted a service request at 9pm and by noon the next morning, Able had Alan at my door. My refrigerator wasn't working and within 30 minutes Alan had it up and running again. He was friendly, professional and honest about the options available and left it up to me on how to proceed. There was no pressure. So far so good, the refrigerator is still working. I will definitely be using Able again.

On April 24, 2015, an Able repairman supposedly fixed a refrigerator problem. I wrote a review in May and gave them a C because they advertise that their service call is free, when in fact it is just hidden in the "labor and parts" which are lumped together along with the tax. I learned that the part was only $69, so the charge of $248.50 clearly included a service charge; however, I believed that the problem was fixed so I gave Able credit for that. Three and a half months later I discovered that the problem was back and had probably never been solved because it takes some time for it to manifest itself. I called Able and asked if they stood behind their work. I was told that labor was guaranteed for 30 days and parts for 90. She was unapologetic that the problem had returned so quickly and wanted to schedule another appointment. Since they failed to fix my refrigerator or stand by their work, I was amazed that she would suggest that I would use them again.

I was not surprised that was the diagnosis. The technician was on time, very friendly and very informative. He explained about the possible problems and then the diagnosis. I'm sorry he wasn't able to fix it because I have full confidence he would have done a very competent job. Just charged me the $9.95 for the trip.

Realized on Sunday that our refrigerator was not cooling. The first place I called said they don't really work on Samsung due to difficulty getting parts. Sears couldn't get someone out until Wednesday. Called Able Monday morning and they had someone out first thing Tuesday. Charlie arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem as a clogged drain which resulted in ice collection that was preventing the fan from running. Did a great job of explaining the problem and opened up the drain hole to prevent from happening again. Very pleased with all aspects of my experience with Able.

Exactly as you could hope for. They told me the price up front, ordered the part, it arrived on-time and the repair was performed during the scheduled window. They honored a $10 off coupon for being an Angie's List member. The technician was very friendly and professional. The pricing was competitive with other appliance repair companies and was cheaper than GE factory certified repair. The only reason I gave a B on price as it seems a little high to replace one part with 2 screws and an electrical connection, however it is in line with other providers. I will definitely use again if needed.

John was punctual and professional. Friendly and courteous. Explained what he was going to do and completed the work quickly. The company went out of their way to provide good customer service.

Charlie was on time. He worked quickly. He was easy to give answers on my old appliances.

The technician was punctual, knowledgeable and professional. After checking the machine over, he told us up front how much the repair would cost. I had checked the internet for the replacement part, and fully expected the repair service to charge more for it than I would have paid myself. However, I was somewhat taken aback at the flat $120.00 labor charge for a repair that took less than 30 minutes. In the end, we decided to go ahead with the repair, and the machine has functioned properly since. Even though I think they charged too much for labor, I would probably call them again.

He was quick knew exactly what the problem was and had it fixed in less than 10 minutes.

They inspected our frig and told us it could not be repaired. It cost $9.95 for them to come to the house, inspect and test the unit. Great price and service.

They came on time and made quick work of what needed to be done. The worker was professional, polite and clear about the project. They left no mess behind and we were satisfied with the work.

On time, professional and had a very reasonable service charge. He advised that it would be too expensive to repair and advised replacement.

John was on time, clean, friendly, kind, and professional in listening to what was happening. He knew immediately what was wrong and checked for any serious leaks. Add 3 lbs of A-22. He removed his shoes at the front door before coming in to check that A/C was cooling correctly. This is the best experience with A/C repair in the 25 years we have lived in this house. Wish we had used John and Able Appliance Heating and Cooling before.

It took about 10 days but they put in several man hours to get the job done and they never charged me a service fee. They were incredible to work with. Although it took a long time to fix they went above and beyond what the job called for. They never charged more than the original estimate.
