Description of Work: Service man Doug came out for estimate on Washer repair....determined quickly that washer needed to be replaced....AT NO CHARGE......we need repair on dishwasher, oven, and refrigerator and will use Able for all our home repair needs.

Description of Work: Rick with Able Appliance replaced my icemaker in my whirlpool refrigerator/freezer. He knew immediately what was wrong and even had a replacement unit right on his truck so was able to complete the repair on the first visit. He was prompt, courteous and even taught me how to clean the coils of my refrigerator. I will definitely call this company in the future if I need and repairs.

Description of Work: The dishwasher is about 4 years old. The spring on the soap dispenser had disappeared. But even before, the dishwasher never seemed to do a quality job cleaning the dishes, even with pre-rinsing. Doug and his son arrived to do the repair at the appointed time. They were courteous and quickly found that there was some clogging in the drain areas. They recommended that I replace the 2 blade disposer with a four blade, which I did. They made 2 trips, once to assess the issues and another to bring and install a new soap dispenser unit. I was only charged for one trip charge, and they also indicated the dishwasher was in good shape and made some recommendations for assuring quality results. Overall, I was pleased with the service. The soap dish part, which was a complete replacement of the dispenser module, was $89.00. The new disposer blade was $25.00. I was only charged one trip/service charge, as they made one trip to assess the condition, and another to install the soap module. The final cost was almost 2/3 of the cost of obtaining a new machine, but since the machine was fairly new, a toss up in the decision making process.

Description of Work: Technician showed up on time and set about trying to figure out what was wrong with my washing machine. As usual, the machine would not do what it had been doing while the tech was there. Since he could not diagnose the problem, he did not charge for the call.

Description of Work: I called three days ago to request an estimate to diagnose/fix my dryer, and no one even called me back. I thought this was odd since they advertise that they offer 24/7 service! :(

Description of Work: Called Able Appliance Repair yesterday afternoon and they came today....less than 24 hours. Looked at my fridge and it needed a new ice maker. Doug had it on the truck, replaced the ice maker, and was done in less than 30 minutes. He cleaned up his mess and was on his way. Nice!!!!

Description of Work: Able Appliance Repair was able to respond very quickly and the repairman was very knowledgeable. He was able to resolve our problem and suggest an excellent replacement.

Description of Work: Doug and Kyle were great. They put up with my cell phone malfunction and were at the door of my rental home before me. They said that there was nothing wrong with my dishwasher and charged only for the service call. Since I don't know anything abont appliances, they could have soaked me for a bundle. I really appreciate that.

Description of Work: Although I didn't really need his services, (he said I needed a plumber) he was very polite, not rude to me for being stupid, which is how I felt. He was very nice and I won't hesitate to call this Co. if I do need their services in the future.

Description of Work: Our dishwasher would power on but the motor would not engage. Called Able to setup an appointment in the morning and the repairman was scheduled and arrived early that afternoon. After some tests/checks the main power board was the problem. The repairman asked the age of our DW and told us what the probable estimate would be to repair the unit. He suggested we then just go buy another DW as the parts and repair cost would be about half of what we would pay for a new unit. We agreed and asked the service call price and was amazed that it was only $9.95. I will use Able for all my appliance repair needs.

Description of Work: I called this company on 8-5-2010 to request service for a dishwasher that wasn't draining well. The company scheduled a service call for the next afternoon. Jim, the serviceman arrived as scheduled and determined it needed a new drain pump. He didn't have one on his truck and said he would return the next morning. My husband changed his work schedule to be home the next morning when Jim said he would come. Nobody came. I called Jim's cell phone number and he apologized and said he couldn't make the appointment and offered to come that afternoon. I left work and met him at my home and he replaced the drain pump. He discovered he needed a gallow blower to clear the line and didn't have one with him. He told me he would return the next morning with the gallow blower. He did not come (my husband had changed his schedule and was waiting again). I called Jim's cell phone number and it was disconnected. I called the office and they were surprised to hear his phone wasn't working and told me they would locate him and have him call me back. Jim called me back and apologized for not being at our house that morning. He stated he could come to our house first thing Monday morning to complete the job. My husband stayed home all morning once again and nobody showed up. I called the office. They told me they would have Jim call me. Nobody even apologized!! Nobody called me back Monday at all!! On Tuesday when nobody had called me by 1pm I called the office again and asked to speak to someone in charge. The girl who answered said that person wasn't available and asked if she could help. I explained the whole situation again. She told me she would have Jim call me.....again, there wasn't even an apology!! Jim called me back quickly and told me he could come by this afternoon. He did come, he fixed the dishwasher, and did work hard to get it back in place as there was a cord in back of it that made it difficult to get back in place. Although Jim seemed to know what he was doing, this company was unresponsive and completely unreliable. I would not use them again.

Description of Work: Refridgerator wasn't cooling and food was spoiling. i called and they sent someone out within 3 hours. The fridge is cool and the food saved!

Description of Work: The thermostat on my heating and air conditioning unit suddenly stopped working. I called Able Appliance, and within about an hour to an hour and a half an extremely cordial technician came to my door. Within one minute he discovered the problem. One of my cats had climbed up and swatted the wall switch that controls the unit and the thermostat. The technician flipped the switch back on; and the problem was solved, and I had to pay only for the service call. I really appreciated the technician's friendliness and professionalism, and I will not hesitate to use Able in the future. Oh yes, I still love the cat; but I covered the switch with duct tape so that she won't be able to turn it off again.

Description of Work: Mark quickly diagnosed and replaced faulty lid switch on washer. Also, in noisy dryer where previous appliance repair firm had said problem was irreparable motor bearing, Mark diagnosed faulty pulley which he replaced with excellent result.

Description of Work: Our dishwasher has been getting louder as it gets older (it is now 4 years old). Bob came out to assess what was wrong. He explained that this particular model can do this (chatter) due to the timing of the output and input of water. He advised us that nothing bad is likely to happen, that an expensive repair may or may not fix the problem, and that it should run for several years yet. We decided not to have the expensive repair done, so we were only charged the $10 visit fee. We also were interested in an ice maker filter and he explained why that would not work with a water softener system. We were very pleased with his advice, knowledge about the systems, and that he included the option for not having work done with those consequences. We will call this firm again if our other appliances have problems.
