A.B. May Heating, A/C, Plumbing & Electrical

We have been with AB May for over 10 years. They performed our fall maintenance and found a need to replace various parts. They said they could "band aid" the system or provide a replacement system with considerable savings. They provided an estimate including installation and sales tax etc. We traded up to a heat pump system. They performed the work the same week we agreed to the plan. There was no change in the cost even though they had to do some alterations. No matter what work they have done for us over the years they are always prompt and reliable.

They came out the next day and he quickly fixed both problems. He explained what had happened to cause them and how I could keep it from happening again. I felt safe when he was here. He was very willing to explain things and didn't talk down to me.

They did a really good job and found a really small holes in one of the burners and made sure we had a carbon monoxide detector in the house.

The man was very thorough and explained everything he did in diagnosing the problem.

They were very responsive and professional when they were there. They showed up on time. They made sure everything was working right before they left.

They come when you call. They have a yearly service discount which is a huge relief. They are very careful about being in my home or around my belongings.

IT WENT OK. THEY CLEAN UP WELL AFTER THEY ARE DONE DOING THE WORK. THEY PUT ON LITTLE BOOTIES BEFORE THEY COME IN MY HOME. THEY GO OVER A CHECK LIST THAT THE CHECKED.

I called A.B. May on the Friday before Memorial Day and told them we had just started our A/C and noticed one of the compressors seemed to be having trouble starting. They asked when we would want someone to come out. I asked if they could come out that day and they said YES! The service tech was at my house in about 2 hours, checked the unit, ensured it was working properly and left. The professionalism of the tech and the customer service attitude of the answering rep were fantastic!

He was professional and personable. He explained what he was doing and would do next. Showed me how things were priced and reminded me about a coupon in the phone book. I felt that he cared about the job he did for me, not just getting it done and getting on to the next one.

The man who came out was a little later than they had said but I was kept in the loop and received phone calls to explain why and when he would be there. The job was done professionally and well. He explained what he did and was very nice and polite. He showed me how he made the decision on the estimate and it was exactly what he said minus my coupon.

It went well. I called the night before and they came right out the next morning. He was very professional and polite. He explained why there was as back up and how to prevent it in the future. He cleaned up the mess. I am very pleased with the whole thing.

They did a good job; they had people out here when they were supposed to be. Everything was done to our satisfaction and I would use them again.

No matter who they send, they're always a pro. They take time to explain the system, how to tweak it to operate better and save $$, and share ways to keep it running well. They're service staff on the phones are always polite and helpful. And when you call for service they're always right on time.

They have some really exceptional prices on air conditioners for the home, they have their own brand. They buy their own parts, too. They were great. They deserve a place on the List. They also do plumbing work and I plan on calling them for that next. They also do duct cleaning.

I called for repair on Monday morning and was told the soonest they could be here was Thursday morning between 8 and noon. I called at 8 a.m. to see where I was in the service que. I was told there wasn't an appliance repairman available and I'd need to be rescheduled for the following Monday. Not sure when they would have contacted me with that information. They were professional on the phone, but that didn't solve my problem.

Very well. The repairman was friendly, knowledgeable and fair. His name was Ryan McCourt. He was well informed and explained enough so we could understand what was happening.

They are the kind of people that when you call them for a service call and instead of saying they can get someone out quickly they say something like "we've had a lot of calls, we don't know when we can come out". They are the kind of business that does not appear to be pleased with your dollar, they act like they are doing you a favor. I did not pick them. I bought the furnace from a store and they were the sub-contractor the store uses for installation. They come out twice a year to service the furnace and A/C. They are disagreeable to try and work with. I called for my annual check up and they said it was too late, it was fall and it would not be covered under my contract and I would have to pay for it.

We were told that the furnace was in severe disrepair and would need a new inducer motor, but that there were many other problems, and they would be reluctant to fix the furnace since repairing the motor would only allow other problems to surface. There was rust and corrosion throughout the system, and that we should replace the furnace and flu to the tune of $2600-$3100. Another contractor came to give us an estimate and told us that our furnace was in very good condition, poked around with a screwdriver for about 1 minute, and got the furnace running. He checked for carbon monoxide and efficiency and said that the furnace was functioning extremely well, and sold us a filter for $20. You do the math.

Work done the same morning I called. Was done quickly and efficiently. Bathroom left clean and old toilet hauled away. I am concerned about how well the new 1.6 gallon flush works - will report back after a few uses.

This is terrible company. They do not provide good service. I would not recommend them to anyone. They are just in it for the money. I would never use them again.

They were punctual and reasonably priced. They didn't try to sell me things I did not need.

I woke up early Sunday and noticed that it was warm in the house. After checking, I determined AC was not working. I called AB May because we had just had them out to check the unit in the late Spring(and we signed up for their Bronze agreement, $150). It took 2 calls, about an hour apart before they returned my call. Technician was there fairly promptly. He diagnosed issue as compressor out and indicated he would get back with me on Sunday after he spoke with his boss to let me know if unit was still under warranty or not. Tech was very professional and knowledgeable. However, I did not hear from him Sunday. I called Monday morning but was told they would call back, which they did. They indicated unit was not in warranty, but replacement was in town, but they would not install until Tuesday. I was greatly disappointed because of the 95 degree heat. They should have and could have installed unit same day and they missed opportunity to provide great service.

It went OK. Mark provided an estimate for several projects, but I decided to go with the single light fixture replacement and use a $50.00 coupon. The $200 cost reflects a $50 discount. I was not happy with the estimate, which I felt was unreasonably high. However, I believe the company policy would have charged me for a service call even if no work was done, so I went with a simple project to have something to show for my money. The fixture looks and works great and Mark left the work area very clean. However, I ended up having 3 ceiling fans with light kits and remote controls installed and 1 light fixture removed/replaced by another electrician for about $50 more than this single light fixture installation cost. Mark was very friendly, polite and competent about his trade. My only issue is the price rate that is set by the A.B. May company.

They are courteous and prompt. The management sends out surveys to make sure that the service is good after each service call.

Very well. I was very pleased with price and work done for this job.
