They did a very good job. I have a service plan with them, so they are here quite a bit. They always do a good job.

The AB May service technicians were very professional, performed troubleshooting to identify the problems, then repaired two different electrical problems. The repair of the oven required ordering a replacement part; and the repair was accomplished within about 5 days after the initial service call. The $60 payment represents the standard deductible payment, on service visits that would each normally run about $300. It was good to have the Home Warrantee agreement in place when we bought this 10 year old house. It was easy to call AB May to schedule the service calls, and the technicians were available to visit within 3 or 4 days of the initial service request call.

I have a contract with them. They did really well. They were on time and very informative. They took care of everything.

They were responsive and did the work fine but I found later from a water intrusion specialist that the price I paid for the pump and service was too much for what was installed.

I called A.B. May Co. for emergency service for my central air conditioner, which had stopped working during a time of extremely hot June weather. They could only promise a day that the service person could come, but not whether it would be morning or afternoon. The service person arrived after 5 PM of the scheduled day and promptly discovered the problem to be a faulty motor start capacitor. I received a quote of about $255 plus tax to replace the capacitor. I refused to have the work done and the service person reinstalled the faulty capacitor. After my refusal, the A.B. May technician gave me some advice about the needed part and where I could purchase it, and I did some research on the internet. I found a local store selling heating and air conditioner parts to non-professionals and the next day I purchased a replacement capacitor for about $40 plus tax. I was able to easily install the capacitor in a few minutes and the air conditioner was working again. I saved over $200 by doing the repair myself, rather than letting A.B. May Co. perform the repair. In my opinion, A.B. May Co. tried to take advantage of my air conditioner being broken during extremely hot weather to greatly overcharge me for the part. I will never use this company again.

I have a general contract with them; it's not just for heating and air conditioning but also for plumbing and electrical. It doesn't cover big appliances but other smaller issues. If I have any plumbing and electrical problems they come out and fix it. Every time I have called them they were able to come out either the same day or the next day. They were easy to work with and I just felt comfortable with the company. They always call me when they get ready to do the scheduling for the heating and the cooling. They get filled up very fast so as a preferred customer with a contract I get preferred times and I am the first ones they take care of before anyone else. I would continue to use them as long as I have my contract with them.

I requested a service call on 5/2/11 on their web site. A couple hours later I received an email confirmation of an appointment for furnace repair sometime in the afternoon of 5/6/11. I took off half a day from work (vacation) and arranged to be at home all afternoon of the 6th. No one arrived. The next Monday, I had a short voice mail on my office phone to call them. I had provided only my home phone and my cell phone numbers to them in my request to their website. My time, productivity and vacation were wasted. I will not be calling on them again.

I have a gold plan with them where they come in the spring and the fall. I had them for several years and their response is very good. If I have to call them then it's because of some kind of emergency. Once we had carbon monoxide in our house and we either had to leaver or get it repaired and they were able to put in a boiler. They brought a lot of heaters to keep us comfortable as both my husband and I are disabled and so we didn't have to leave our home.

They smart, clean and efficient. They were also on time. I would use them again in the future!

They have been here several months over the past year. Sometimes, it seems that they try to push me a little bit to get a new product. I am not sure of their price, but it seems competitive. They are pretty good about being responsive and punctual. Sometimes, the people that come in won?t put their shoe covers on, and I think that should be something that people should do. I am used to living in places where people take their shoes off. It is kind of disturbing to have all these guys come in here and walk all over my carpet with filthy shoes on; it is not that their shoes were muddy or anything, but it is all the junk and germs that they carry on their shoes. I don?t wear my shoes around my home. I am not so sure I would continue to use them in the future. I don?t think we would buy another warrantee from them.

It is a huge company. It is like a home maintenance company. They have plumbers, electricians. They do it all. We are on one of their yearly plans. They come and look at our aid conditioning and heating. They have great people working for them. We are extremely happy with them. They call before they show up, the company will call us and the worker will call us. They do what they say they do and we feel like they have been honest. They try to sell you stuff and they don?t over do it and we have used them 10 years and it is only one time one guy put a filter in the wrong way and we had a little bit of water leakage. But they corrected it right away and we were really happy with them. They are a super company. Their price is reasonable and they are always perfectionists. For a house call they charge $60. This is just to come to your house. For what contractors? charge they are competitive and reasonable. We are on a plan. They have various plans like gold and silver and annual plans. They are prompt and they are friendly. They are very knowledgeable and they educate you. They really explain what they are doing and why and how it works. You can learn a lot from them about things in your house and how things work. I would recommend them highly. They are professional. They get your work done. I prefer to work with them. I have had some bad luck working with some private contractors because the private contractors don?t have to answer to anybody. We had a father and son come out and work on our deck and stain the deck. Then they put in wood that bled and sapped. Sap comes out of the wood every year when it gets hot, and they had to redo the stairs and then comeback to re-stain the deck. It was not pleasant and I just wanted them out of my house. But this is a professional company and they hire a lot, they train them really well and they have people come out and check the job that is done. A couple of times when they miss something or 100% not great they come back and fix it, or they send somebody else out to fix it. Then it has worked out fine. So I would recommend them very much over a private contractor. You have the back up of the company. With my deck guy, if I could call somebody else I would have but I did not because I signed a contract with this guy and we both were very discouraged with everything about it. We wanted a bid on something else and I made a couple of calls a handyman sort of thing and the same man came out and I recognized him as the man who did our deck, he left without giving us a bid. I did not say anything mean but he must have known that we will not have him. A B May Co do it all. I highly recommend them. They put in a humidifier for us and they maintain that, they put in a new heating unit for us. When our air conditioning goes out because our house is about 20 years old, we are definitely going to buy that from them. I know they will give us a deal for the maintenance and everything. The advantage of working with a company is far above that of a contractor because we had a guy come out and put in windows for us. A friend recommended him to us. He was a very nice guy and he had a worker with him. He was very trust worthy because you have to let people into your home. The contract is like a couple days he came in and this went on for a few days. He was putting the windows for us and fixed some water damage on the outside like a wood rot on the trim. He would work for an hour and say that he has some personal work to be taken care of . If he was working for a company I would have called the company and inquired. But what do you do here. It is his company and it is his job you don't have a lot of recourse. This is one of the things I like working with A B May Co. They may be probably be more expensive than just a handyman guy. But you know that the company is backing up the work. This is a big advantage to homeowner. We have had a couple of really bad experiences with contractors and handy man. In fact I would say three out four jobs we went through a handyman was not good. Who would you complain to? You can't because it is private contractor. I love working with a company where they are professional and they make it worthwhile. They back up the work. You can't ask for more.

As usual, they did a good job, punctual, professional, etc. We did think the price was slightly high but we needed to have it done quickly and we also know that they do quality work. I would recommend A.B. May for any type of work that they do and the home warranty is a great deal. They come out and do a complete check up and clean up on our HVAC system annually and, even though the system is fairly new, they have replaced various parts, etc., at no charge under our contract with them.

They very pretty knowledgeable and helpful. They did a better job in explaining options than the other service providers have. They even explained that the price depends upon the type of furnace selected.

They were exceptional. They had to move my hot water tank out of the way to get the old one out and then they put it back in, but they did not charge me for any of that. I had asked another company to put in a separate breaker box outside the house so that I could run a generator from it. When they came out to do the work, they said that the inspector of the city needed to come and inspect because the air conditioning unit was too close to the house. AB May sent somebody right out and moved it and set it where it was supposed to be.

I had four estimates. With AB May they offered a couple of other options to finance that I didn't hear from other companies. They were a little less expensive for the package I ultimately choose. My house is heating. I can already tell a difference in my gas bill. They came in when they were supposed to and did the work. They did everything that I was expecting.

I like them when we call they come immediately because we are on contract with them. They are always punctual and always come in putting on booties so they don't mess my house up. They are always very pleasant. I will use them in future.

A B May Co knows what they are doing. they are great. i will use them again in the future.

A B May Co has good employees that are friendly and courteous. on the installation there was a mistake so they came down as fast as possible to fix it. i will use them again in the future.

They came out probably 6 times to fix our dish washer, and they never fixed it. We didn't feel like they were very professional, and they didn't fix our problem. When we called back, even after home warranty expired we thought they should have still honored it but it was too late.

The hot water heater went out on us on a Sunday, and he came out that Sunday. I was really impressed with that. He did the work, and was real professional, good and very reasonable. We have got their maintenance plan, and I think it cost us $60 - it was not bad at all, especially for a Sunday. We have used them a couple of times and have been very pleased with them.

I thought the salesman was very professional. He arrived for our appointment at the appointed time or would call me to tell me when he would be arriving. He had what I thought was a professional analysis of our heating and cooling needs. He submitted a proposal to me that was detailed and was reasonable.

They were fast and did a satisfactory job. We have their protection plan so it didn't cost much.

I really have little to add. We were put on a standby list for the day following our call, but the service man was out early the next morning to be sure we had a working furnace in the cold weather.

The products work fine. (We've only had them a few weeks, so I can't speak to long-term performance.) We invited three companies to bid the job. AB May's salesman seemed the most knowledgable and the most interested in providing us with the right products for our home. Their price was also very competitive, and the KCPL and tax rebates were a big help. Once we decided to go with AB May, things became more difficult than we anticipated. Getting on their schedule took some doing, and getting ahold of the salesman to get the scheduling taken care of became harder. Every appointment we had with them?from the day of the install to two subsequent appointments for follow-up work (they didn't have all the right parts on the install day?and a few things were left off the work order)?found them either arriving too early or too late. (Nearly two hours late for the last one.) It's just been more of an inconvenience to work with AB May than I would have imagined. Bottom line, the products seem to work fine. If customer service is important to you, you might be able to do better.
