+ 0 moreThe company's only interest is selling their home warranty on their first visit. The home care itself is not their concern.
Description of Work: I called this company out because my home had a home warranty with them when I bought the house. I had a sewer that was backing up in the basement. Every time they come out to the house it costs me $65, whether anything is done or not. I ended up calling them back two more times for a sewer back up before I decided to have a camera sent into my pipes. There was no real blockage, but they did the hard sell to have the pipes replaced. All I had to do was change the brand of toilet paper I was using and it took care of the problem. No sewer back-ups since. When they serviced my furnace for winter the workman told me everything was fine and told me he tested it. When cold weather hit, I couldnt get the furnace to come on. It took them 3 days to come out. The second guy who checked said they didnt take the vent plug out so it was suffocating the flame every time. I would think that would be basic knowledge. He also recleaned it because it was still dirty. So the first guy did nothing but change the filter, which cost me $65 for them coming to the house.

Job was a little more complicated than it should have been due to the existing configuration of pipes under the sink. AB May made the appropriate modifications without increasing the total cost.

So, they did have to come out again. The workers showed up on time. They did everything as per agreement. Everything is holding up well. I will use them again.

+ -1 moreThe job went very well. I wasn't expecting them to come out the same day. The service man was very professional and managed to find things wrong with the door that previous people had not found wrong with the door. I just wanted the door to close cleanly and he managed to get everything lined up. I'd tell others to use them, it'll cost you a little more but it will be worth it.

They offered a convenient appointment, arrived when promised, sent a technician that worked on our house previously so he knew the layout of the house and the previous work performed. The technician was very friendly and professional. The tub drain overall was in good condition, but had a plug and a poorly installed connection. The technician pointed out the problem and replaced the connection with a more reliable style. He double-checked his work to ensure that everything was done properly, and cleaned up after his work.
Description of Work: We've had a slow bathtub drain for a couple years that finally stopped draining at all. We called AB May to have it repaired. The technician diagnosed the problem and quickly and efficiently made the repairs. He disassembled and cleaned the drain trap, and repaired the connections that were not done properly years ago.

He was very patient, helpful and responsive. When I decided to accept the proposal he had the work scheduled to happen within a few days. The installation crew showed up on time and was very courteous, clean, informative and efficient. When they finished they showed me everything that had been done and gave me information in order for me to understand waht I needed to know. I am completely thrilled with their work and my new heating and cooling system so far.

They took care of us immediately which was well above the call of duty. Everything is working fine and I would call them back.

Corrected a poor angle of approach which may have resulted in the leak when installed back in 1962. In and out in about 3-1/2 to 4 hours, very clean and professional. I received about $150 discount for being a bronze plan customer.
Description of Work: Repaired a leaky elbow inside the basement wall where the water line enters the house.

+ -1 moreIt seemed a little pricey for what he did. It only took him five minutes to fix it so it was something quite simple on the washing machine. He came out on the day I was there which was the good part. I was off work and I needed the washing machine to work, really badly, and he came out the day that I called; so I didn't mind paying a little extra. He did a perfect job. He figured out what it was and he didn't charge me for anything extra. I sort of had an idea what the problem was and he confirmed it. He did a real good job fixing it. I think he was pricey maybe because he came out the same day that I called.

They are pretty well known; in fact, they may be the biggest in Kansas City. I think the price is about $150 a year, which doesn’t sound too bad to me. I would rate them highly and would continue to use them in the future.

+ -1 moreThe young man who did the service was very pleasant and professional. He arrived on time and finished when he said he would. It was a good experience. i purchased a warranty program from them, so will see them again in the spring for preventive maintenance on the air conditioner.
Description of Work: Preventive maintenance on furnace and humidifier. Adjusted dampers; made sure the humidifier was working properly; changed humidifier filter and furnace filter. Cleaned a non-operating water valve leading to the humidifier so that it functions properly again. Checked on function of automatic thermostat.

Description of Work: I bought a toilet at Costco and asked AB May to install it. The plumber from AB May, Joe Young, said it was a piece of junk and I couldn't give it to him. He went on to state that the flush valve would not last long, it was expensive ($100) and hard to get. After he left I called the manufacturer AT 1/800-459-4409 and they informed me it was $25.00 plus shipping and they would ship over night. Sounds like sour grapes to me...
