AB May installed a new AC unit with a new evaporator coil. The unit stopped cooling the house after about 4 years. We called AB May to diagnose the problem. They determined that there were several leaks in the coil and that it needed to be replaced. We had them check to see if the coil was under warranty since it had only been 4 years since they installed it. They determined that it was, than proceeded to quote us a labor cost of $1000 to replace this poor quality coil that they installed that was under warranty. We were shocked to say the least. Paying $1000 for labor to replace a coil is ridiculous. The fact that it was under warranty made it even that much more outrageous. We requested that they order our replacement coil and we will spend the money to have a more reasonable company to install it. The denied our request stating that the so called warranty required them to do the replacement. Needless to say we are very disappointed in this company.

Next, the plumber needed to cut out a section of dry wall to access the back of the shower nozzle. For some reason this 3 minute service isn't covered by the warranty and we were charged over $30 PER INCH OF DRYWALL that he cut with a utility knife. A total of $151 (after our warranties 15% discount). The drywall was removed in a haphazard manner, instead of using a stud finder and cutting between them, he attacked the wall with a utility knife, removing excessive wall in areas to the right of a stud that were completely useless to access, and pulling the loose piece off over nails. He didn't clean up the mess it made (I wouldn't mind but their website claims they do that), and removed the loose piece of drywall from our home without asking, so we can't even use it to patch the over-sized hole he created, it may have been too damaged by the nails anyways. Next, he replaced the shower head and 1/2" pipe to the shower, but claimed the pipe wasn't covered by warranty for reasons that are still unclear to me. Awaiting response from their resolution department. So another $215 charge, but at least this took some level of professional knowledge to do. All in all, we got about 5 minutes of worked that I could have done myself done by the warranty and paid well over any reasonable industry price for the rest, and a $75 service call fee to boot. In AB May's response they will say "we were upfront with the price and verified it was OK before proceeding..." Please understand that their version of upfront with the price is: 1. Creating an appointment and telling you everything should be covered by the warranty and the only out of pocket will be the $75 (or $100 depending on your plan) service fee. 2. Getting to your home and finding any reason, and sometimes no reason to deny your warranty in a situation where you can't sit and debate or even review the validity of the technicians claim. 3. Give you a strongarm price and tell you "either pay that now, or we'll leave with your service fee in hand and we can come back later and collect another service fee after you cut the hole in the drywall yourself. Oh, and please remember you did want to take a shower and/or do your laundry and dishes tonight lol." Their prices and business practices are simply unethical, and their service leaves a LOT to be desired as well. And I almost forgot, plumber insisted on doing a whole house inspection and managed to only identify deficiencies that wouldn't be covered by the warranty.

Bruce was great! He thoroughly explained everything he was doing and showed me a few things I wasn't aware of that will be very beneficial to controlling air flow in the house. He was very personable - I felt like he was a good friend!

Nick was very professional in his work and suggestions about also adding surge protectors for installation on both of the HVAC units. His latest visit was to install two modified exhaust pipes to the two HVAC units which the furnace manufacturer had recommended. I highly recommend AB May for all heating and air conditioning needs.

The technician told me that he couldn't do anything because my sump pit wasn't wide enough and therefore not up to code. I'm sure he's following some ridiculous rule, but that sure would have been nice to know before I went through the trouble and paid for a service call. He was professional about it, but the experience was very frustrating. Since he was already there I asked him if he'd take a look at my garbage disposal that had just stopped working. He verified that it was shot and I'd need a new one and quoted me prices. I ended up just overpaying to have him replace it for the sake of convenience, and somehow I mentally convinced myself it was better to overpay by a couple hundred dollars to have a service performed than it would be to pay $75 to get absolutely nothing (still arguing with myself over that logic).

Today I learned that one of the keys to happiness is an AB May Service Contract! Todd and his apprentice did a top notch job! They quickly replaced my broken sump pump and broken kitchen faucet. On top of that, I mentioned having a problem with my Master Bathroom toilet, and they fixed the problem that I have had with it for years! Easily over a $1,000 of parts and service were taken care of for the low cost of one service call! It's great to be able to call AB May with a problem and have them send a Master Plumber out to make all my problems go away. And because they have an apprentice program, I am assured they will continue to have well qualified professionals for years to come.

The technicians did a good job but the price was ridiculous.

The plumbing technician was able to come earlier to do the work and free up my day. He was very responsive to my questions. Replacing the filters were no problem at all. I've had a gold plan with A.B. May for years and have found them to always be very helpful and responsive to my needs. I had to have them send someone again 4/4/19 when a chimney sweep was evaluating my gas fireplace and found gas leaking around the floor turnkey. A.B. May sent someone right out to fix the problem. They take care of me and I appreciate that they do!

Great, totally satisfied, seems higher priced than others. Said they could replace the toilet for $531 each . . but there wasn't anything wrong with the toilet other than they kept running, wasn't pushy just gave me the option and I had broke the knob off the shut off value on one toilet and he told me the other was leaking so he suggested I replace that one as well. I have had them on other occasions and even though their service is outstanding they do seem much higher priced on everything. I think I will hire them again, unless a comparable plumber is suggested to me. I don't think I would be able to afford their services to install a bathroom in my basement.

Kevin the service man showed up, explained everythingm made suggestions, was good and fast. I was very pleased as always with the service from AB May.

All they try and do is upsell you to vip programs. One guy came over for a request for leaky fixtures and spent about 45 minutes telling me i needed to do other stuff unrelated before he even looked at the problem i called about. This has happened with members of their team who gave me thousand dollar quotes on things I needed to be done.

AB May was able to replace my water heater the same day it went out. I’m grateful that they were able to do it so quickly.

The repair went well. Technician Don J #490 did a great job communicating the problem and fix.

Josh was able to unplug the drain in about 20 minutes. He was very courteous and professional as all of their employees have been that have provided services for us. We have the Gold Agreement with them so instead of $273.00 it only cost me $60.00.

Hannah D #1513 was the best service technician by far, of any that have been in my home. Above and beyond, while being a consummate professional.

I have used AB May previously for plumbing work. The results were the same as before - excellent. I have been impressed with the quality of their employees and Tyler was no exception. The office staff of AB May is excellent as well. This is a well run and reputable company!!!
