Satterlee Plumbing Heating And Air Conditioning

My 83 year old, recently widowed Granny called Satterlee to replace her 40 gallon water heater because she thought she’d try handling something herself. Satterlee sent out a “kid” to inspect & the next day, came to replace her water heater. He didn’t bother to measure the existing one or the closet it was in beforehand and brought a 40 gallon that didn’t fit. Instead of measuring and knowing that he could perhaps get a different one, he took her entire door & casing apart to try to get the new one to fit. Afterward, looks at her and says, I hope you know someone who can put this back together because I don’t know how. Seriously?!? When it still didn’t fit, after several calls, he left to get a 30 gallon tank that could fit, which ended up costing MORE than the 40 gallon. My sweet Granny told me this kid didn’t seem to know his a$$ from a hole in the ground and spent more time on the phone than he did working. So, 2 days later, my Granny has a smaller water heater than she started with, in a deconstructed closet and a bill over $1100! She was so upset & just thought she was handling something on her own. The family has tried calling to discuss the mess that was left, but they won’t return calls. I believe Satterlee took advantage of an elderly lady & since they got paid, don’t have any care for customer service or to make right a mess that could’ve been prevented with a simple measurement.

I use them constantly. They are very prompt and they show up very quickly. I just call them to come for maintenance or if there is a problem. I've worked with them for a long time. They are prompt and I don't have to wait for them to show up, they are there that day or the next day. I've never had an emergency but it's always one or two days out generally.

They did a pretty good job. They were pretty good about getting out and getting it done. They were fast and professional. The price was comparable. They were right on time.

They are good. Overall, I rate him highly. I would use him again in the future.

Sewer was backing up into basement, called several companies and was given estimates. This was work that had to be done in the alley and the company had to be able to dig down 8 to 10 feet, which most weren't able to do. Since Satterlee's is a well know company I called several times to get an estimate and no one returned my calls, even after calling back to inquire why no one had returned my calls. If they weren't interested in doing a job, they should have at least said so instead of acting like it was the first time they had heard of me. Called them 3 days in a row.

They are prompt and they are good. They are professional. We have never had anyone else apart from them so I don't have anything to compare their price to.

They're a little pricey. The people that work for them seem to be very happy. I'm very happy about their service.

They did a good job. I will continue to use their services in the future.

The service technician we had that came out to the house the most his name was Mark and he did a phenomenal job of explaining things to us. He always was very neat when he came and cleaned up after himself. We were real happy with him. They were a little on the high side on price. We would use them again in the future and we would definitely ask for him.

I have used this service for about 20 years and I have had no problems with them at all. They were prompt. They are quite good and do what they say they are going to do. They are reasonably priced.

He is licensed to work on the old fashioned boilers, hot water boilers.

afterward i looked to see the work they did. They charged me $225 for the piping. I saw the same tubing they used at home depot for approx $50 for a 100' roll. They mark the parts up greatly and the man was there for about 2 hours so that would be about $312 an hour. Wouldn't recommend to anyone!

Very badly-Mr. Satterlee didn't care about doing the right thing and paying for the damage his employee did and was rude to both my husband and me.

We purchased a home in Joplin in August, and we are in the process of selling our home in Kansas. My bathtub and one of the vanities in the master bath developed a leak under the faucet handles when you turn them on. Sounds like a washer issue, but these are nice fixtures and we don't know how to fix them ourselves, so I turned to the yellow pages. What attracted me was the fact that the company has been in business since 1892. Bad companies don't stay in business that long. I called on Feb. 14th and talked to Kathy or Karen. Found out we could not set up a time but we could set up a day and the service person would call before they actually came to the house. I was told that they charge 70.00 an hour and that since we were new customers we would have to pay at the time of service. I was then told all forms of legal tender would work, and I then set up Wednesday, Feb. 16th, for someone to come out. I waited ALL day. Finally at 4:30, I called to find out what time they closed and where my service person was. Kathy or Karen told me I wasn't on the schedule and was I sure I called the right place. They offered to get someone out tomorrow but I'm kinda busy, that's why I set it up for Wednesday. I figure if they cannot get their customer base schedule more organized then that, then perhaps I should get someone else. They were very polite about the whole thing, but as a business they know how valuable time is (70.00 an hour) and that's a whole day of my time I'll never get back, plus I still need a Plumber!

He knew what he was doing. He got the job done fast, and he took care of the problem. He was punctual. The staff was friendly. I thought the pricing was fair.

Since my call was never returned, I would say it was disappointing overrall.
