Kim Higdon

DETAILS: We listed our 3 BD, 2BR, 1200 sq/ft house (with 2 car garage) fenced in yard, patio, porch, vaulted ceilings, walk-in closets, col de sac type location, extremely friendly neighbors, etc... for $89,900 (which we have been told by several other realtors is an excellent listing price for this house). Kim also wanted a 7% commission if the house sold. I have spoken with Kim Hidgon all of 5 times. She did not follow-up with me and my husband every two weeks like she promised. She did not show my house to anyone except a few other realtors about a month after it was listed. We listed our house in September of 2013. After it was in the MLS, I took better pictures to have them put up on the website and they never posted the better pictures. We didn't hear from Kim again until the first week in January 2014 and all she had to say was, "Sorry, business is slow." If business is slow, I would think she would have had the time to call and let us know what was going on. Today (March 31, 2014) our contract is up and I have yet to hear from her to ask if we are renewing the contract for an additional 6 months. We will not be renewing our contract with Pro100 because the service was terrible. She was not with us every step of the way. It has been nothing but a stressful experience. We wanted a realtor that would work WITH us and we did NOT get that with Kim Higdon. Now, if you are selling a house for $300,000 or more, then I would recommend Kim Higdon, because it seems she only gives priority to those houses where she will get a giant fat check when they sell. But she did not give priority to our home at all, and she promised that she would. Honestly, I expected much more from Kim Higdon. She has a glowing reputation around here and was extremely professional. She did put a sign out front, place an ad in the paper (but only 1 ad that I saw) and she did put it on the top housing web sites. However, we know that more work goes into selling a house than just doing these few things, and my husband and I are extremely disappointed in the services that we received from Kim Higdon. We definitely don't think she should ask for 7% commission if she doesn't do sufficient work to earn it.

She is outstanding. She has helped our friends and everybody whom she helped knows that she is very honest and is a very hard working individual. My wife’s house was a small one of just 1300 sq ft and she treated it and serviced us as if it is a million dollar mansion and we were very pleased with her. A friend of ours that my wife worked with used her within the last two years and was very pleased with her and she was very grateful that we recommended Kim. Kim just took a percentage which was a standard percentage each time. She is a wonderful lady and is very professional.
