Description of Work: We received an estimate from J & M Smith Construction LLC to renovate the outside of our apartment building.

Description of Work: I called to get an Estimate on having ceiling repaired and new Knock-down ceilings put in throughout a rental home. They missed my first appointment, re-scheduled to two days later, and failed to honor that appointment as well. After several calls from me and a couple of calls from them I seem to have been forgotten. I guess they don't want my business. I am very available. A phone call most any weekday can get me to the house in 20 minutes. Yet, they never made the call. Not sure if a company can even keep an appointment if I want them to tell me when they will have a job done.

Description of Work: We had this terrible faux finish on the walls in one of our bedrooms and bathrooms on our main floor. The people who lived here before us had taken either tissue paper or plastic wrap and painted it onto the walls to create a marble type look? It was horrible. Anyway, it was going to be a mess trying to get it off, as it was pulling the drywall apart when we tried to remove it on our own. So these guys came out and removed the faux finish (not sire exactly what they did to get it off) and sprayed knock down on the walls. We wanted knock down because we know it would hide imperfections. They then painted the walls and painted our ceiling too. They did a great job making sure that they protected the areas that were not to be sprayed (ceiling and floor) and were professional and communicated if there were any concerns or questions. Really liked them versus others that I got estimates from because they were able to give us a firm estimate whereas others wanted to charge by the hour and they couldn't give us a firm hour estimate! That's nuts!!!They were not our cheapest estimate, but not the most expensive either. Also, they gave us an estimated time frame and they were good on that too. It was hard to get people to come out and give estimates, much less get the work done in this post-tornado Joplin, so I was pleased with the time frame, price, and ultimately, the work they did for us. This is a company that can do all sorts of construction work for the home and I will definitely use them again for other work that we will have in our home.

Description of Work: They re-shingled my roof.

Description of Work: J & M Construction redid the ceilings, sheet rock, tiling, and insulation. He redid quite a bit after the tornado came through.
