DEPENDABLE HEATING & AIR

I called Dependable H&A to get them to check and fix an air conditioning vent apparently leaking from condensation and also replace a cap on the roof furnace pipe, which had been blown by the wind. The lady secretary said that a technician will come in a couple of days. I asked when, and she said they will call me when they get to the house. None of this happened. I thought they might've forgotten, so I called again the next week, but same story. In the meantime, there were rains that affected our property. Not very DEPENDABLE, I would say!

I was getting my hair cut when the phone rang and it was the guy from Affordable. He said he was there already even though he was supposed to call before he came. He was rude on the phone and when i got out of my car at the house he said " There isnt anything i can do for you man" right away. The guy came out and said my whole unit needed to be replaced since he had already talked to the landlord and convinced her that the whole unit must be replaced. Well it didnt need to be replaced, it could be easily repaired and they were trying to charge $3000 for the new unit. Even though the lines in the house were already up and running. A little pre-story. We had our whole house destroyed in the May 22, tornado in Joplin and moved into our family home until my fiancee had our baby that we were expecting when the tornado hit, so the landlord in this scenario is MY MOM and the guy didnt know that. After telling him i didnt think it needed to be replaced he said he would charge us to put more gas into it, to which i said "ok that sounds more reasonable, let me call my "landlord" and see what she says about it." I couldn't get a hold of her and he proceeded to tell me that he had changed his mind and wouldn't put more gas into it because the EPA wouldnt let him do it all of a sudden. To that i said " Man it just sounds like you don't want to do any work today." He began smart mouthing me about how i dont have any say since i dont own the house and he was going to replace the unit no matter what. I informed him that i did in fact own the house since it is my families home to which he got frustrated and pumped his chest out and got in my face chewing me out. I dropped the bag i was carrying and almost got into a fist fight with him in the front yard cussing each other back and forth when i told him to leave my property and he refused. He finally left spouting some parting shots, then had the nerve to call my mom and say that it would be $68 and that i had an anger problem. These people are rude, mentally damaged, and scam artists. They are taking advantage of people who have lost everything they own in the tornado, and i hope that this review helps someone not make the decision to use this horrible company. (P.S. I called the company to report the incident and they never called me back! Who would have thought?) I guess i will continue to wait for a response from them. But i will not hold my breath.
