We have been involved in about 6 home purchases over the years and know that not all home inspectors are created equal. Mark was definitely one of the better inspectors we have encountered. He was punctual and professional. He was very knowledgeable about a lot of things -- a jack of all trades is a good quality in a home inspector. He seemed to have a natural curiosity to figure out how things worked -- if he couldn't figure something out on the first try, he would keep trying until he could. Mark didn't mind crawling up into the attic space or accessing the crawl space to get a thorough inspection. He was very patient with us and took the time to answer our questions (we had many) and explain how things worked. He was very matter of fact about any issues that he did find -- some inspectors can be alarmists or more concerned about not upsetting the realtors or sale of the home. I felt Mark was very fair and balanced in his reporting of any issues he found. His report was delivered on time via email in a clear format with accompanying photographs.

From my first interaction with Mark, calling him for an estimate, I could tell that he was a very thorough inspector that really cared about his work. While others that I called simply asked for the square footage and location for an estimate, Mark asked more in-depth questions. We were on the phone for several minutes while he explained that even with a new construction there are many things that could need attention during the inspection. Even though his estimate was higher than other inspectors I called, I really wanted to pay the difference to get an inspector that I knew was knowledgeable and thorough. (Especially since some of the inspectors on the list our realtor gave us had complaints with the Better Business Bureau...NO WAY am I going to choose one of THOSE inspectors!) When I first talked to Mark, he said he can schedule appointments on evenings or weekends which is really helpful because my husband and I both work full time but wanted to be at the inspection. He also was booked through the week I called, but when he learned of an opening he had, he let me schedule the inspection for two days after! This ended up being very helpful because our contract had a deadline for the inspection just about a week away, so we were worried we wouldn't get an appt. in time, but Mark helped us out here! When Mark came for the inspection, he was right on time. He began by inspecting every area of the home, outside to inside. He was very thorough and helpful in explaining what he had found, what was wrong, and what needs to be done. He also showed us several things that we weren't concerned about the seller fixing, but were just FYIs for us as new home owners. These insights will be helpful for our future years in the home! I was kind of expecting an awkward situation (being in an empty house with some guy for over an hour) but he was very friendly and made conversation, so it wasn't awkward at all. Even though our house was brand new, he still found several things that need to be addressed. We are very thankful that we paid a little more to have Mark inspect our house. He also offered future help if we ever need it, and said that if there is anything we have a question about just to call him whenever and he would give us his professional opinion.

The inspector was easy to reach and immediately gave us an accurate appointment time. Not only was he on time... he was early for the actual appoiintment. He spent several hours doing what appears to be a very thorough inspection. He answered our questions and pointed things out during the inspection. By that evening he emailed his report with pictures. The next day he hand delivered the full report with additional information to our residence. At no time were we pressured to pay in advance or pay for extras. Great service. Got way more information than I expected at a reasonable price.

He is very personable, knowledgeable, thorough and his report was very clear to understand. He emailed all the pictures and report to me the very next day.
