The roof has leaked ever since he built it. Asked him to do something about it, and nothing. Should have sued him when he first did the work or withheld party of the payment till he did it right.

Jude did a complete gut and remodel of the kitchen and butler pantry in our 100 year-old house. Our goal was to ensure the historical integrity of our house while having modern upgrades. He completely understood the desire to do upgrades in keeping with the style of the house. He and his staff went out of their way to make sure the details matched the rest of the house, down to the trim on the doors. He was able to replace the transom window beautifully, which I hadn't even thought was possible.The workmanship is outstanding, I have never hired a contractor who was so focused on quality and meeting the customer's goals. So many contractors tell you all the things that are not possible in an old house and pay no attention to making the upgrades look right, and he was exactly the opposite. I thoroughly enjoyed his staff who were considerate, highly skilled, and cleaned up every day. A few of his subcontractors did not meet my (or his) expectations, but he always did what needed to be done to correct the issue. He is not cheap, but you get your money's worth.

The project wasn't completed by this company because they never submitted a bid for the work even though someone came to my home to discuss the proposed project.

I really expected a phone call to discuss my project and never received one.

He is the most wonderful man with the most wonderful son. They do exactly what they say they are going to. They charge exactly what they say they are going to charge. They clean up after themselves. It's as if they were never there. They are fabulous. He's a Christian man and he taught his son his craft. He's been a contractor for many years as well as all of his subcontractors. Every contractor in Jefferson City and Columbus respects Jude Markway. He is an amazing contractor. They came, they worked everyday. Every subcontractor they suggested (insulation or drywall subcontractors) are just as wonderful as he is. There is not a better contractor than him. When they came to remove the wall, they were here for 2 hours, made no mess, and did exactly what they came to do and charged exactly what they said they would charge. He's fabulous. They will do as much as you want. I wanted them to do it to the point of unfinished because my son-in-law, I have some rough maple that they will use to finish the beam with. They will do it to any point that you want. They had worked in another house of ours but that was a couple of years ago. My mother owned a home and it was built in the 50's and the floor had lost it's support in one corner from moisture. The boys got in, they took out the hardwood floor, they put new joists underneath the floor, replaced the floor, quick and simple. There is no way to discribe what an honorable wonderful man he is. I asked my son, who works as a contractor in Jefferson city, who can build the living room and the sun room on for mom? And then of course, he built the walls for the bathrooms. He cut through and made a door so that there's a bathroom on one side and a bathroom on the other side, it kind of makes a small hall for about half of the kitchen. Then the rest of it is kitchen. And then she has the bedroom in the front. So it is a conventional ranch but we gave her the 2 bedrooms so she now has a sun room, a living room, a bathroom with the full shower on one side and the vanity on the other and then it kind of creates a hall where they cut out the window where the bathroom is. Then you walk into the kitchen. She has a stove, sink, refrigerator. Then she has her bedroom at the front. So, she has all the privacy that she wants but she's right here with us. We worked together with Jude to plan that. You might think you know what you want. I had this big idea. What Jude will do is sit down and ask you, what is your budget and then he's been in the business so long that he can tell you from the slope of your yard or the style of your house or your roof line or whatever, what will work best for you. You don't need someone to draw plans. They work from simple drawings. From their concrete people, who came first, to pour the foundation, from their concrete people to the drywall finisher, they were an amazing group of people. I thought his pricing was extremely reasonable. I mean, he build on a 22 foot room, an 8 foot sun porch, reroofed the house and finished it to drywall and paint for $20,000 and that included roofing the entire house, not just the part that he built on. That was totally reasonable. I can't even imagine anybody being any more skilled, any better, any more experienced. If they tell you they are going to be there at 3:33 they are there at 3:33. Those are the kindest, most patient, most respectful boys I have ever met in my life.

While the time invested was long--the results were perfect. Every person involved in the project was committed to enuring quality work. While they wanted make sure they met my needs they were also helpful in coming up with unique suggestions. Jude was the only contractor I spoke who was willing to place all outlets under kitchen cabinets. This required special considerations from the electrical contractor and cabinet maker. The team worked well together to get me what i wanted.

His quality of work and response time is excellent. He has good family members that work with him and they are just as dedicated as he is. He also coordinated the sub-contractors on everything.

He does outstanding work as far as I'm concerned and he has grown a reputation around Jeff City for that. He is totally trustworthy.

He was fabulous. Mr. Jude Markway is one of the nicest men that I have ever met. All of his subcontractors are excellent. He started the work in August and the frame structure went up really quick. His sons work for him and both are extremely conscientious and great carpenters. They clean up after themselves. The subcontractors have been working on the drywall and the painting. The work is not done yet but it will be done in a week. It's been awfully raining here for 6 weeks. They work anyway. They do some of the work. The drywall people and the painters finished painting the main room. The sun porch and every other job have been going on marvelously. The drywall people, electricians and the painters are all the subcontractors for Jude Markway. I had heard of him and seen his trucks. He does not have an office but he works from his house. His wife is his accountant. His sons are his workers. My son works for superior exteriors and he mentioned Jude. Jude came over and started out with a drawing. He then got the estimates for me and told me what the structure frame would cost. I had started to get other bids but after meeting him I stopped. He has an excellent reputation locally. He is extremely well respected in this area. I swear he is the most wonderful man and all of his subcontractors are just as nice as he is.

We have used Jude a couple of times before this for bigger jobs, including putting a rec room in the lower level of our home where there was only concrete before. This time Jude came out to see our window problem, and we agreed on the kind of window replacement we wanted. He replaced the old leaky bay window and replaced the boarding around the window to make it blend in very nicely; in fact make it look better than it had before. We were again quite pleased with his work.
